AND THE LAST FEW WEEKS WE HAVE MADE THE LIBRARY ARE HOME AND WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT WHAT WE'RE GOING TO BE SPEAKING TODAY, SO WE WILL START ABOUT WE WILL START WITH OUR INTRODUCTION OF OUR NAMES. BEFORE IT IS LOST OR FORGOTTEN. WITH THAT IN MIND, WE HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED AS THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO STILL HAVE CONNECTIONS TO THAT PASSED. MOST OF THEM ARE AT AN OLDER STAGE OF THEIR LIVES, AND THEY HAVE MUCH TO SHARE. WE ALSO HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND A LIMITED AMOUNT OF DOCUMENTATION ON THE BLACK IN BROWN HERITAGE OF MCKINNEY. MCKINNEY IS GROWING IN THE EAST SIDE IS CHANGING.

SOME OF THE FEW THINGS THAT LEGACY KEEPERS WANTED TO DO WAS FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IS CREATE A CHILDREN'S BOOK TO GIVE TO THE STUDENTS. I MEAN, THE ELGIN ELEMENTARY STUDENTS SO THEY CAN HAVE HIS. INFORMATION TO BUILD UPON GREW UP ON WE ALSO WANTED TO CREATE AS IF IT'S IN THE I S THE, UM SCHOOLS HERE, MCKINNEY. I THINK THAT WILL BE A GREAT THING FOR THE STUDENTS BECAUSE THEN THEY'LL HAVE AN ACTUAL EXHIBIT TO LOOK AT TO HOPEFULLY. NOT ABOUT THEIR OWN COMMUNITY, AND THEN WE WANT TO ALSO CREATE A WEBSITE THAT WE HAVE A MAP TO SHOW THE HISTORY BUT ALSO WHERE PEOPLE CAN ADD TO THE HISTORY SIMILAR TO AN ANCESTRY. PER SE, UH, FOR ME, IT WAS A LITTLE BIT MORE STRESSFUL BECAUSE MY YEAH, MY FIRST SUMMER I WAS TAKING ETHICS AND HUMAN RIGHTS CLASS, AND IT WAS VERY EXTENSIVE IN WRITING AND READING. I WAS ALMOST READING AROUND 300 PAGES A WEEK. SO IN HAVING TO WRITE A 20 PAGE PAPER, SO I HAD TO JUGGLE BETWEEN THIS AND THAT

AND I'M FINALLY LIKE I HAD TO DO THAT. I MY EYES THROUGH THE BLUE LIGHT. THAT'S WHERE IT AFFECTED ME BECAUSE I WAS JUST ON ZOOM A LOT.
