REQUESTING IS SIMPLY TO REZONE THE PROPERTY TO ALLOW FOR THAT CONSIDERATION OF A CELL TOWER VIA AND S U P AND ALSO TO MODIFY THAT BASED ZONING DISTRICT TO G C GOVERNMENT COMPLEX TO ALLOW FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PARK AT SUCH TIME THAT THE CITY IS PREPARED TO DO THAT, SO I AM HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE. AND I KNOW THAT MR HAUSER HAS BEEN WORKING CLOSELY ON THIS ONE AS WELL. FOR THE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW THE STEALTH. AND WITH THAT REQUEST, THEY WERE PROPOSING TO PUT THE CELL TOWER RIGHT ABOUT HERE NEAR THE SCHOOL. AT THE TIME, THE COUNCIL DID HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT HAVING TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWER ON SCHOOL PROPERTY, THE PLACEMENT OF PROXIMITY TO THE BUILDING AND POTENTIAL INTERFERENCE WITH THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. SO SINCE THAT TIME THE APPLICANT HAS BEEN WORKING WITH CITY STAFF ON THE ABILITY TO MOVE THAT TOWER TO ANOTHER POTENTIAL LOCATION, CITY OWNED PROPERTY. UM WHEN CONSIDERING TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWER, THE FCC DOES REGULATE AND LIMIT WHAT IT IS CAN BE CONSIDERED RADIO FREQUENCIES AND ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH IMPACTS OF CELL TOWERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN REZONING REQUEST OR A LAND USE REQUEST IS BEFORE A CITY THAT IS SOMETHING THAT IS REGULATED BY THE FCC. SO WHAT'S BEING ASKED OF THE CITY IS THE LOCATION APPROPRIATE. DOES IT MEET THE GENERAL STANDARDS OF THE CITY MAY SET FOR ITSELF FOR CONSIDERING TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWER IN THE LIKE, SO, UM, THIS REQUEST RIGHT NOW WOULD JUST READY THE ZONING CODE FOR THAT KIND OF CONSIDERATION ON THIS PARTICULAR PROPERTY FOR A CELL TOWER. MAPS FROM HEMPHILL TO SUBSTANTIATE THE NEED FOR THE TOWER IN THIS LOCATION, AND SO WHAT THAT DOES IS, IT SHOWS THE COVERAGE GAPS THAT THEY'RE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING, AND THE GAP THAT'S FILLED BY PUTTING A TOWER HERE, AND I DO BELIEVE THOSE MAPS ARE INCLUDED IN YOUR PACKET FOR YOUR VIEW AS WELL. IT'S BEEN PROVEN OVER AND OVER THAT MANY OF THE BOOKS DON'T CONTAIN ANY OF THOSE THINGS. THEY READ EXCERPTS OF BOOKS THAT DON'T EVEN EXIST IN THE LIBRARY. THEY GET PEOPLE IN AN UPROAR AND A FRENZY AND THAT IS ALL A BUNCH OF RIDICULOUS, DIVISIVE NONSENSE. AND WHEN WE GET TO THE END OF THIS DISCUSSION, LIKE I SAID, I BELIEVE WE'RE GOING TO FIND A NUMBER OF BOOKS THAT EVERYONE WILL AGREE WITH.
