THIRD BECAUSE LGBTQ YOUTH ARE FOUR TIMES AS LIKELY TO COMMIT SUICIDE VERSUS THEIR PEERS AND THOSE YOUTH WHO LIVE IN A COMMUNITY THAT IS ACCEPTING OF LGBTQ. PEOPLE REPORTED SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER RATES OF SUICIDE THAN THOSE WHO DO NOT.

SO SHOWING YOUR SUPPORT FOR PRIDE IS ARGUABLY ONE OF THE MOST PRO LIFE THINGS YOU CAN DO.

FOURTH BECAUSE DESPITE REPUBLICANS PASSING A RESOLUTION AT THEIR CONVENTION LAST WEEK, BEING GAY IS NOT AN ABNORMAL LIFESTYLE CHOICE. YOUR BODY IS ABNORMAL AS THE REST OF US SORRY. UM BECAUSE SIDEWALK CAFES OR SIDEWALK PATIOS ARE SUCH A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR BUSINESSES. MOST OF OUR SISTER CITIES DON'T HAVE THEM. ACTUALLY NONE OF OUR SISTER CITIES HAVE THEM ARE TRADITIONAL FRISCO, PLANO ALLEN. THOSE GROUPS. BY DALLAS FORT WORTH AND AUSTIN, ALL SLIGHTLY LARGER CITIES THAN US, BUT THEY ALL HAVE THEIR OWN KIND OF VERSION OF THE SIDEWALK CAFES AND YOU CAN SEE THERE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR PROGRAMS ARE LISTED HERE. UM AS A PATIO SPACE FOR RECREATION OR EXTRA PARKING EXTRA PARK BENCHES. HAVE KIND OF A RESTING PAUSE TO CREATE A NEW SPACE APART INSIDE OF THE. BUT IN THE INTERIM SINCE WE'VE CREATED THE SIDEWALK USE PROGRAM , AND TODAY WE HAVE DONE SOME MAJOR MODIFICATIONS TO VIRGINIA AND LOUISIANA AND WE'RE LOOKING AT DOING MORE MODIFICATIONS AS WE MOVE ACROSS HIGHWAY FIVE TO KIND OF IMPROVE SIDEWALKS AND PEDESTRIAN ABILITY OVER THERE. AND SO WITH THIS PARTICULAR ORDINANCE WERE LAYING OUT SOME DIFFERENT MINIMUM CLEAR WITS, SO ON SMALLER SIDEWALKS SHOULD HAVE A CLEAR PATH OF FIVE FT. AND AS YOU GET TO LARGER SIDEWALKS, YOU GET A LITTLE BIT MORE CLEAR PATH. AND THAT'S TO ACCOMMODATE THE VOLUME OF PEDESTRIANS. WE HAVE WALKING BY SO YOU CAN STILL HAVE YOUR SIDEWALK CAFE. YOU CAN HAVE PEOPLE WALKING BY AND HOPEFULLY A STROLLER. NOR CARD OR TWO AT THE SAME TIME. WE ARE ALSO ADDING IN HERE. THE PROVISION FOR ALLOWING DOGS INSIDE BROUGHT CAFES AND PATIOS . IT HAS BEEN A FLAT $10 A YEAR FEE. HOW WITH THIS AMENDMENT, WE WOULD BE CHANGING THAT FLAT FEE FROM $10 TO A DOLLAR PER SQUARE FOOT OF LICENSED SPACE WITH A NOT TO EXCEED OF $600 EVERY TWO YEARS. AND WE WILL BE ADDING AN APPLICATION FEE THAT SIDEWALK USE OWNERS WOULD PAY ONE TIME.

UM IF THEY KEEP THE DESIGN OF THEIR SIDEWALK, USE SPACE. OF $100 WHAT THAT WHEN THAT WOULD BE TRIGGERED IS SAY, RICK'S DECIDED THEY WANTED TO REDESIGN THEIR ENTIRE PATIO RIGHT NOW.

THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY THE $100 APPLICATION FEE. BUT IF THEY CAME BACK AND SAID, YOU KNOW WHAT WE WANT TO TEAR DOWN THE FENCE AND START OVER AND START SOMETHING NEW THEN THAT $100 APPLICATION FEE WOULD COME BACK BECAUSE IT'S A REDESIGN, AND IT TAKES A NEW REVIEW AND THOSE TYPES OF THINGS AND THE OTHER THING KIND OF ASSOCIATED WITH THAT FEE CHANGE. IS TAKING IT FROM THE CURRENT ONE YEAR TERM TO A TWO YEAR TERM. THAT GIVES PEOPLE A LITTLE BIT LONGER TIME TO KEEP THEIR LICENSE WITHOUT HAVING TO COME BACK AND GET IT RENEWED RIGHT NOW IT'S THEY HAVE TO COME BACK EVERY YEAR AND REPROCESS EVERYTHING ALL OVER AGAIN. JUST SO WE HAVE SOME EXAMPLES OF HOW THOSE FEES WOULD BE CHANGING IF WE LOOK AT THREE PATIO SIZES FROM OUR SMALLEST SIZE TO OUR LARGEST AND ONE IN THE MIDDLE.
