BUT WE'RE BACK NOW, WITH A 4% TAX CREDIT ALLOCATION WORKING WITH MCKINNEY HOUSING FINANCE CORPORATION TO CREATE A PROJECT THAT WOULD BE ENTIRELY 60 60% AM I THIS. AH! IS A ZONING CASE IN A PROJECT THAT I THINK IS VERY SMALL IN SCOPE. BUT HAS A MUCH OVERSIZED IMPACT ON OUR COMMUNITY. HAS MISS ARNOLD INDICATED TO YOU THE CURRENT CODE IF WE WERE TO COME TO YOU TODAY AND JUST WANT A STRAIGHT ZONING UNDER YOUR M F 30. WE WOULD BE ENTITLED TO 30 UNITS TO THE ACRE ON THIS PIECE OF PROPERTY. IT'S A LITTLE OVER FIVE ACRES IN SIZE, WHICH IS AN ABNORMALLY SMALL TRACT FOR A MULTI FAMILY PROJECTS. THERE HAVE RECEIVED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE IMPACT ON THE MCKINNEY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BY PUTTING THIS TYPE OF PROJECT IN MCKINNEY AND I THINK I'VE REPORTED TO YOU BEFORE THAT THIS IS A PROJECT MCKINNEY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT WOULD SUPPORT CAN HE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT IS A RICH SCHOOL DISTRICT UNDER THE ROBIN HOOD WROTE RULES OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, WHICH MEANS THAT EVERY INCREASING ADVIL OPEN TAX DOLLAR THAT IS PAID TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT DOESN'T STAY WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. IT GOES TO THE STATE AND HIS REDISTRIBUTED AMONG THE POOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS. OUR DISTRICT. MAKES MONEY BY HAVING MORE STUDENTS IN SCHOOL, NOT BY HAVING MORE PROPERTY ON THE BOOKS. THIS PROJECT WILL ONLY HAVE A THIRD ABOUT 33% OF THE UNITS WILL BE ONE BEDROOM. THE BALANCE OF THE UNITS WILL BE TWO BEDROOMS, TWO BATHS, THREE BEDROOMS, TWO BATHS, SO IT'S DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES. BUT ALSO JUST WANTED TO THANK THE MCKINNEY CHAMBER FOR PUTTING ON THE MECHANIC COMMUNITY AWARDS A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. REALLY INSPIRING TO SEE SO MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN IN MCKINNEY, OLD AND NEW WHO HAVE REALLY DUG IN AND HAVE GIVEN OF THEMSELVES OF THEIR TIME OF THEIR MONEY TO JUST MAKE THIS A BETTER PLACE, SO WANTED TO THANK ALL OF THE AWARDEES, BUT THANK YOU TO THE CHAMBER FOR THROWING THAT EVENT EVERY DAY. IT'S AWESOME. SO UM, DAVID DAVID CRAIG LEFT. I WAS GOING TO MENTION YESTERDAY I WAS IN HIS OFFICE AND. AS WE'RE TALKING I UP TO THE LEFT. DAVID FIRST CAME TO MCKINNEY AND WAS TRYING TO DO DEALS AND TRYING TO, UM MAKE A LITTLE MONEY AND, LIKE MANY REAL ESTATE PEOPLE IN THE EIGHTIES WAS STRUGGLING AND . SO MUCH SO THAT YOU KNOW BANKS WERE GOING UNDER PEOPLE GOING UNDER BANKRUPTCY WAS RAMPANT AND HE WAS TELLING ME THAT HIS DAD PULLED HIM ASIDE ONE DAY AND HE SAYS YOU WILL NOT. BANKRUPT ANYBODY. YOU WILL NOT TARNISH THE CRAIG NAME AND THAT'S THAT'S THE FIRST THING I'VE EVER I EVER LEARNED. I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW HIS HIS FATHER HAVE MET HIM ONCE , BUT JAMES CRAIG WAS A MAN OF CHARACTER. HE WAS, UM HE WAS A PILOT IN THE VIETNAM AND UM, FLEW HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF MISSIONS IN OVER VIETNAM AND THOSE THOSE GUYS WERE JUST DIFFERENT. THOSE THEY THESE ARE GUYS WHO LOVE THEIR COUNTRY WHO ARE CRAZY, DISCIPLINED AND CERTAINLY MEN OF CHARACTER. AND I THINK ABOUT THE CRAIG NAME AND I COULDN'T IMAGINE A FATHER BEING MORE PROUD OF A SON. WHO WHO HAS DONE SOMETHING WITH THEIR NAME? I THINK DAVID UM DAVID CRAIG'S NAME IS SYNONYMOUS WITH KINDNESS AND TENACITY AND THE SUCCESS OF FORWARD THINKING VISIONARY, BOLD RISK TAKER. I DON'T THINK THERE'S ANYBODY IN MCKINNEY HAS ADDED MORE TO THE TAX BASE THAN DAVID CRAIG. HIS SUCCESS AND WHAT HE'S DONE FOR THE CITY OF MCKINNEY. WE ARE TRULY VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE A MAN OF HIS CHARACTER HERE. UM AND SO GOD BLESS DAVID AND HAVING LOST HIS FATHER AND HIS KIDS HAVING LOST THEIR GRAND GRANDFATHER, AND ABOUT WHAT A GOOD MAN THAT'S RAISED A GREAT SON, SO THAT'S ALL I HAVE. YEAH. WE CAME ACROSS A VETERAN WHO, UM LOST A BUNCH OF BRANCHES AND HIS TREES AND PEOPLE HELPED CUT THEM DOWN OR GET THE BRANCHES DONE. BUT THE TREE NEEDS TO GO AND I ASKED CITY STAFF IS THERE A PROGRAM AND WITHIN HOURS I FOUND OUT ABOUT A VOLUNTEER NONPROFIT PROGRAM FROM CITY STAFF THAT WAS ABLE TO HELP WITH THAT AND ALSO GOT A CALL FROM A LADY WHO WAS STUCK IN HER DRIVEWAY BECAUSE THE TREE WAS DOWN AND I TOLD HER , YOU KNOW, GIVE IT A DAY OR TWO, BUT I'LL REACH OUT STAFF. IT WASN'T TWO HOURS BEFORE IT WAS DONE. AND SO, UM YOU KNOW, IT'S HARD FOR THE CITY AND HARD FOR ANY EMPLOYEE RIGHT NOW TO KEEP TALENT, BUT WE DO HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF TALENT HERE AND OUR STAFF IS JUST WONDERFUL IN SO MANY DIFFERENT REGARDS, SO THANK YOU. YOU KNOW THAT WHAT WE PROJECT FOR TRAFFIC AT OUR AT THIS AIRPORT? SHOULD WE HAVE PASSENGER SERVICE WOULD BE AN AVERAGE OF 1500 PASSENGERS A DAY. TO GIVE YOU SOME SOMETHING PERSPECTIVES AND RELEVANCE TO WHAT THAT MIGHT BE, OR MIGHT NOT BE.
