OKAY UM, DO WE HAVE ANY PUBLIC COMMENTS ON NON PUBLIC HEARING AGENDA ITEMS? OKAY I'M NOT SEEING ANY. WE HAVE OUR CONSENT AGENDA. THERE ARE
[CONSENT ITEMS]
TWO ITEMS ON OUR CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS. 23-0480 AND 23-0481 MINUTES OF THE BOARD FROM MAY 20/5 AND MINUTES OF THE, UM POTENTIAL PROJECTS SUBCOMMITTEE FROM MAY 20/4. CAN I GET A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONCERN AGENDA? SO MOVED IN A SECOND. SECOND MOTION BY DEBORAH AND SECOND BY JOY.OKAY? MOTION IS APPROVED. NEXT UP IS OUR FINANCIAL REPORT. CHANCE, MILLER. GOOD MORNING
[Financial Report]
CHANCE. MILLER, ACCOUNTING MANAGER. PULL THAT UP. OKAY? ALRIGHT WE'RE GOING OVER THE MONTH OF MAY, UM STARTING OFF WITH REVENUES. WE HAD A LITTLE OVER 2 MILLION IN SALES TAX REVENUE AROUND 100 AND 40,000 AND INTEREST INCOME. TOTAL REVENUE FOR THE MONTH OF MAY WAS ABOUT 2.25 MILLION. MOVING ON TO EXPENDITURES WE HAD AROUND 160,000 AND OPERATIONAL EXPENSES. WE HAD ABOUT 84,000 AND COMMUNITY GRANT EXPENSES ABOUT CLOSE TO 400,000 WENT TO THE PARK INSTRUCTION FUND. UM ALMOST 500,000 TO THE TUBS PROJECT, AND THEN THE REST ABOUT 56,000 WENT TO NON DEPARTMENTAL EXPENSES. TOTAL EXPENSES FOR THE MONTH OF MAY WAS ABOUT 1.15[00:05:02]
MILLION. MOVING ON TO SELLS TAX OOPS. ALRIGHT SO THE SALES TAX WE COLLECTED IN MAY APPLIES TO THE MONTH OF MARCH. SO THIS IS MARCH CELLS. WE SAW A 0.1% INCREASE OVER LAST MARCH. UM ALAN SAW 3.8% INCREASED RISK OF SOLID 2% DECREASE IN PLANO SOL 7.3% INCREASE. I WILL NOTE THAT WE RECEIVED AN AUDIT COLLECTION LAST MARCH, AND THAT PLAYS INTO ACCOUNT TO WHY WE ONLY HAD 2.1% INCREASE. IF YOU FACTOR IN OUR TRUE PERIOD PERIOD INCREASES, IT WAS CLOSER TO 4% I'M STILL A LITTLE BIT LOWER THAN WHAT WE'VE SEEN IN THE PAST. BUT THE 4% A LOT BETTER THAN THE THAT BREAK EVEN MARK THAT YOU CAN SEE THAT WE ARE SHOWING HERE TODAY ARE INCREASES UP TO 7.3. AND I WILL TOUCH ON THE SALES TAX BY INDUSTRY. UM YOU CAN TELL THE RE RETAIL TRADE AT A 4% INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR. THAT MARKS FIVE OF THE LAST SIX MONTHS THAT WE'VE SEEN BETWEEN THE 4 TO 6% INCREASE IN RETAIL TRADE THAT SEEMS PRETTY CONSISTENT, MOVING FORWARD. UM YOU'LL NOTICE THAT UTILITIES HAD A 39% DECREASE. BUT IF YOU LOOK INTO MAY OF 2022 , YOU'LL SEE THAT AUDIT COLLECTION HIT AND SO IT'S SHOWING IT COMING BACK DOWN TO THE NORM. BUT IF YOU'RE LOOKING FROM MAY 21 TO 2023, IF YOU'RE FACTORING IN, YOU KNOW 5 TO 10% INCREASE IN THE 750,000 WE COLLECTED THIS YEAR IS ON PACE WITH THAT, SO I'M NOT NOTHING TO NOTE THERE FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE.AND I'LL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. QUESTIONS FOR CHANCE. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. MR GRIMES

CITY OF MCKINNEY. GOOD MORNING, MR CHAIR. MADAM PRESIDENT. MEMBERS OF THE BOARD. MY NAME IS PAUL GRINDS CITY MANAGER. DO YOU THINGS TO UPDATE YOU ON AT THIS LAST CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON JUNE 20TH. THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVED ZONING FOR, UM AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT THAT IS SOMEWHAT ONE THAT YOU'RE PROBABLY FAMILIAR WITH, BECAUSE I BELIEVE THE CDC IS GOING TO BACK PROVIDES SOME GAP FUNDING FOR THAT PROJECT, THE REMNANT. THERE WERE TWO ZONING CASES BECAUSE THERE ARE ACTUALLY TWO PARCELS. THEY'RE ACTUALLY THREE PARCELS TO ASSOCIATED WITH ONE OFF OF THROCKMORTON PLACE AND THE OTHER ONE DOWN BY 50 YOU THOSE PROJECTS HAD DID RECEIVE APPROVAL FOR ZONING. THEY STILL HAVE SOME HURDLES TO BE ABLE TO OBTAIN ON THEIR OWN THEIR OWN PROCESS TO BE ABLE TO MEET THEIR QUITE CRITERIA FOR GETTING THAT PROJECT MOVING THIS YEAR. UM WE'RE HOPEFUL THEY CAN DO IT IF NOT CERTAINLY NEXT YEAR, BUT WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THE PROJECT AND WHAT THAT BRINGS AND COMBINED WITH THE PALLADIUM PROJECT. WE'RE MOVING THE NEEDLE ON SOME AFFORDABLE HOUSING NEEDS IN MCKINNEY, AND PART OF THAT IS RESULT OF THE WORK THAT YOU DO, OF COURSE IN THE CITY COUNCIL DESERVES A LOT OF CREDIT FOR ADOPTING A COUPLE OF TOOLS TO PLACE IN THE TOOLBOX. TO BRING PROJECTS FORWARD. FOR EXAMPLE, THE PALLADIUM PROJECTS BEING FUNDED FROM PROCEEDS FROM A PFC . A PUBLIC FACILITIES CORPORATION PROJECT THAT WAS DONE A YEAR AGO. IT'S ACTUALLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION NOW, BUT THOSE TYPES OF THINGS GIVE US THE TOOLS TO BE ABLE TO MOVE THE NEEDLE, SO TO SPEAK WITH AFFORDABLE HOUSING. WE STILL HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO, BUT I'M EXCITED ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE COUNCIL THROUGH ITS POLICY MAKING HAS AND THE CDC HAS MOVE THE NEEDLE! MOVE THE BALL FORWARD ON THIS. ALSO, UM AT WORK SESSION THIS PAST TUESDAY, WE PRESENTED THE RESULTS OF OUR BI ANNUALS CITIZENS SURVEY THE NATIONALS RESEARCH CENTERED AND POCO. IT'S A JOINT VENTURE THEY EMERGED. DOES A CITIZEN SURVEYS THE ONLY SCIENTIFIC SURVEY THAT WE DO IN THE COMMUNITY? DO WHAT EVERY TWO YEARS WE DO AT THE SAME TIME EVERY YEAR SO WE CAN CONTROL FOR ANY SEASONAL BIASES OR SEASONAL THINGS THAT MAY OCCUR. PEOPLE MIGHT BE GRUMPIER IN THE WINTER IN THE WINTER, SO WE GET THE MAYBE THE LOWEST OF OUR SCORES. BUT NONETHELESS, WE COMPARE AGAINST OURSELVES OVER THE PREVIOUS YEARS THAT WE'VE DONE BUT WE ALSO COMPARE AGAINST 50 MILLION COMMUNITIES THAT REPRESENT 50 MILLION RESIDENTS IN THE UNITED STATES, SO WE HAVE A GREAT DAY TO SET TO COMPARE OURSELVES WITH. UM AND SO IT'S VERY INTERESTING. I THINK FROM A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STANDPOINT , YOU WOULD FIND THE DATA AND THE RESULTS. VERY INTERESTING. I HAVE SENT THE LINK TO COMMISSION BIBLE. SHE COULD FORWARD IT ON TO YOU. IT'S ON OUR WEBSITE. YOU CAN GO THROUGH AND POUR THROUGH THE DETAILS. IF YOU WISH. THERE IS ALSO A COPY OF THE PRESENTATION THAT WAS GIVEN TUESDAY NIGHT AS WELL BY OUR CONSULTANT. UM WE ALSO AT LAST TUESDAY'S CITY COUNCIL MEETING, THE COUNCIL CONSIDERED AND ACTED ON ON INCREASING THE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION FOR OVER 65 AND DISABLED. THEY INCREASED THAT HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION FROM $80,000 TO $85,000. THEY ADDED $5000 TO THAT HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION. UM WE ARE UNDERWAY IN OUR BUDGET WELL UNDERWAY. WE HAVE, UM, LOTS OF ASKS AS WE DO EVERY YEAR OVER 15 MILLION IN SUPPLEMENTAL REQUESTS . WE HAVE SUBSTANTIALLY LESS THAN THAT TO AWARD SO WE WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE UNENVIABLE TASK OF FIGURING OUT WHAT IS ABOVE THE LINE AND WHAT'S GOING TO BE[00:10:02]
BELOW THE LINE. BUT WE WILL HAVE THAT READY TO GO FOR PRESENTATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL IN EARLY AUGUST. THAT FISCAL YEAR BUDGET WILL BE CONSIDERED BY THE COUNCIL, AUGUST SEPTEMBER AND ADOPTED IN SEPTEMBER FOR OCTOBER 1 FISCAL YEAR AND WE ARE OFF TO THE RACES. AS WE SAY. AND THEN FINALLY, THERE WILL BE NO COUNCIL MEETING AGAIN UNTIL JULY . 5TH JULY. 18TH I'M SORRY. JULY 18TH WILL BE THE NEXT CITY COUNCIL MEETING. THE NORMALLY THE NORMAL CADENCE OF OUR COUNCIL MEETINGS AS THE 1ST AND 3RD TUESDAYS EVERY MONTH. FIRST TUESDAY OF JULY IS JULY 4TH.WE'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE TO MEET ON JULY 4TH WE, YOU KNOW, WE MAY HAVE FIREWORKS AND ALL THOSE THINGS ACTUALLY FIREWORKS ON JULY 3RD. BUT WE WON'T MEET AGAIN UNTIL JULY, 18TH AND I HAVEN'T. I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY COMPLAINTS FROM COUNSELOR. I DON'T KNOW WHY. BUT I THINK IT'S A LITTLE RESPITE FOR THE SUMMER. I WILL STAND FOR ANY QUESTIONS. LET'S HAVE ONE. WHAT'S THE STATUS OF THE PROGRESS ON THE ROAD? UM EL DORADO. WHAT? THE SECTION OF THE ROAD ON ELDORADO WEST OF CUSTER NEAR THE A. G B. I JUST WONDERED IF IT WAS STILL ON TRACK. CUSTARD WEST OF STONEBRIDGE, RIGHT? I'M SORRY. THANK YOU DONE. I BELIEVE WITHIN A MONTH BECAUSE HIV IS WANTING OPEN WITHIN A MONTH. HE CAN'T OPEN WITHOUT THAT ROAD OPENING AND THERE BUILDING THE ROAD THEY'RE DOING THAT PROBABLY DIDN'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I NEEDED THAT LITTLE SEGMENT OF ROAD UNTIL IT CLOSED. APPRECIATE IT EVEN MORE NOW. I WILL. I WILL. I LIVE RIGHT BY THERE, SO I HAVE TO TAKE THE STONEBRIDGE CIRCUITOUS ROUTE. YEAH WE ALL APPRECIATE ELDORADO AND WILL APPRECIATE IT MORE WHEN YOU HAVE THREE LANES IN EACH DIRECTION. THE CITIZEN SURVEY THAT YOU'RE REFERENCING AND WE DID GET THE LINK. I JUST HAVEN'T LOOKED AT IT YET. DOES IT COMPARISONS TO OUR SISTER CITIES TO DO THEY DO A SIMILAR IF THEY PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER SURVEY, OKAY? I DON'T KNOW THAT THEY DO. HONESTLY, I DON'T KNOW IF THE TOP OF MY HEAD NOT, BUT IT COMPARES WITH ALL THE COMMUNITIES THAT ARE COMPLETELY COME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SURVEY NATIONWIDE. AND WHAT THEY DON'T DO IS THEY DON'T GIVE US THE SPECIFIC NAMES OF THE CITIES. THEY THEY'RE JUST GONNA GIVE US THEY GIVE US SORT OF THE DATA SET. AND WHAT THEY'LL SAY IS THAT HOW DO YOU COMPARE WITH THE NATIONAL AVERAGE? ARE YOU ABOVE THE AVERAGE? OKAY WITHIN THE AVERAGE RANGE IF YOU WILL, OR OR YOU BLOW INTERNATIONAL NORM, AND BUT YOU CAN USE SOME OF THEIR DATA TO SLICE IT AND DICE IT AND CROSS SORT OF LOOK AT SOME CROSS SECTIONS BASED ON DIFFERENT THINGS ■SIZE. UM INCOMES, MEDIAN INCOMES, ETCETERA, IF YOU WISH TO DO THAT , BUT THEY LOOK AT IT FROM AN OVERALL AGGREGATE STANDPOINT. COMPARISON, COMPARATIVE. I DID POINT OUT THAT THE WORK SESSION THAT WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT, SO THERE'S 330 ISH 340 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY THEY THEY SURVEYED COMMUNITIES REPRESENTED ABOUT 50 MILLION PEOPLE, WHICH IS VERY LARGE, BUT THAT'S STILL SMALL, RELATIVELY SMALL SLICE OF THE AMERICANA. UM POPULATION AND THE TYPICALLY COMMUNITIES PARTICIPATE IN THESE SURVEYS ARE GOING TO BE COMMUNITIES THAT ACTUALLY THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO MEASURE THESE THINGS. THAT'S PROBABLY A BIT OF A SKEW ITSELF . UM SO EVEN IF WE COMPARE THE WITH THE AVERAGE IF YOU WILL ON A NUMBER OF CATEGORIES OR ATTRIBUTES PROBABLY COMPARE PRETTY FAVORABLY COMPARED GIVEN MANY OF THE OTHER COMMUNITIES AROUND THE COUNTRY. DON'T PARTICIPATE IN THIS AND MAY NOT I WANT TO BE PARTICIPATE IN THESE THINGS FOR WHATEVER REASONS. SO I HAVE A QUESTION REGARDING THE FITZHUGH PROJECT. YES AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT THAT THE REMNANT CORRECT. OKAY SO WHAT IS THE ROOM? IT'S PART OF THE REMNANT. WANNA KNOW THERE'S 22 GEOGRAPHIC POINTS TO THE REMNANT PROJECTS. OKAY, ONE. THE OTHER ONE IS UP OFF OF THROCKMORTON PLACE. OKAY. FRANK WARREN PLACE HAS TWO SEPARATE BUILDINGS AND PIECES OF LAND AS WELL. SO IT KIND OF SOUNDS A LITTLE CONFUSING, BUT GEOGRAPHICALLY. THERE'S TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. OKAY, WHY WERE THEY SEPARATE ZONING CASES? WELL BECAUSE THEY THEY ZONING ON THOSE IS DIFFERENT, AND SO THEY HAD TO EACH GO PURSUE THEIR OWN TRACK, THE ONE UP ON THE NORTHERN PEACE MORE IN PLACE HAD SOME SETBACK ISSUES AND SOME CHALLENGES. UM GIVEN SOME OF THE RESIDENTIAL HOMES IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT. THEY WORK THAT OUT. DEVELOPER DID AND THE COUNCIL UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED IT, SO THAT'S BEEN RESOLVED. LIKE I SAID, THERE ARE SOME OTHER THINGS THAT THEY HAVE TO DO TO BE ABLE TO MEET THEIR OWN TIMELINE FOR THEIR DEVELOPMENT. IT'S REALLY IRRESPECTIVE OF THE CITY. BUT I THINK WE'VE DONE THE THINGS WE CAN DO TO GET THAT THING MOVING FORWARD. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS. JUST JUST A NOTE OF THANKS. UM, IT HAS BEEN SUCH A PLEASURE TO SERVE AND TO HAVE THE M C D HOST THAT, UM ATTAINABLE, AFFORDABLE TASK FORCE FOR THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS, AND I JUST WANT TO SAY A BIG THANKS TO KIM FLAM, OUR ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER FOR REALLY PROVIDING SO MUCH RESEARCH SO MUCH FACILITATION AND TWO BE SO. OPEN MINDED FOR
[00:15:07]
ALL THE POSSIBILITIES. IT'S BEEN JUST A REALLY LOVELY EXPERIENCE , AND I'M SO GLAD FOR WHERE WE ARE AND THE OUTCOMES. AND WE'LL KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED THAT ALL THE PROJECTS ARE ABLE TO MEET THE PARAMETERS OF, YOU KNOW OTHER FUNDING SOURCES AND GET THESE PROJECTS. YEAH. THANK YOU.OKAY. THANK YOU. OKAY NEXT IS VISIT MCKINNEY, ERIN WARNER. GOOD MORNING, MR CHAIR, MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD . GREAT MORNING TO BE IN FRONT OF YOU TODAY. FIRST THING ON MY LIST. I WANT TO JUST DRAW ATTENTION TO THE REPORT THAT I ATTACHED TO YOUR AGENDA. I CHANGED IT UP A LITTLE BIT THIS MONTH, AND THAT'S WHY I WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU NOTICE AND THIS IS HOW WE'LL DO IT MOVING FORWARD, BUT ON THE SECOND PAGE, AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO OPEN IT NOW YOU CAN DO THIS IN YOUR OWN TIME. ON THE SECOND PAGE AT THE VERY TOP. THERE IS A LINK THAT WILL ACTUALLY TAKE YOU TO A VIRTUAL DATA PLATFORM WHERE WE'LL BE HOSTING OUR MONTHLY REPORT WITH ALL OF OUR DATA FROM CELLS. TO VISIT HER WALK IN TRAFFIC AND THINGS LIKE THAT FOR YOU MOVING FORWARD. A LOT OF THAT DATA. THAT LINK WILL BE LIVE ALL MONTH. A LOT OF THAT DATA IS REAL TIME AT MOST A DAY BEHIND, ESPECIALLY OURSELVES DATA THAT COMES DIRECTLY FROM OUR CRN PLATFORM THAT WE HAVE INTERNALLY IN OUR OFFICE AND BUT IT'S A GREAT WAY FOR US TO KEEP TRACK OF WHAT WE'RE DOING INTERNALLY, BUT IT'S ALSO A NICE WAY TO SHOWCASE THAT INFORMATION TO YOU GUYS AS WELL. UH AND IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE REPORT, JUST LIKE WE EXPECTED MAY WAS A HUGE MONTH FOR US. IN MCKINNEY. WE HAD SEVERAL AWESOME EVENTS AND STACK ON TOP OF EACH OTHER, AND IT KEPT OUR TEAM ON OUR TOES. OF COURSE, THE BYRON BEING THE HEADLINER THERE, BUT THEN A FEW OTHERS THAT JUST WERE INCREDIBLY SUCCESSFUL. OUR TEAM ALONE HELPED WORK AROUND 1750 ROOM NIGHTS FROM MCKINNEY MCKINNEY DURING MAY. WE HAVE 756 WELCOME BAGS THAT WERE DELIVERED TO HOTELS FOR PEOPLE AS THEY CAME INTO THE COMMUNITY AND THEN OVER THE ENTIRE MONTH, THE OCCUPANCY FOR ALL MCKINNEY HOTELS WAS AT 79.2% WHICH WAS A 9.5% INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR DURING MAY ALONE , AND AGAIN, YOU KNOW BYRON WAS ALSO DURING THAT MONTH, AND SO IT WAS JUST A PHENOMENAL MONTH FOR TOURISM AND MCKINNEY. OUR HOTEL PROPERTIES WERE VERY FULL. AND OF COURSE, THAT'S A GREAT SIGN FOR THE FUTURE AND WHERE WE'RE HEADED. A FEW THINGS TO JUST DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO YOU . OF COURSE. NOW WE ARE MOVING ON TO HELPING OUR D C I TEAM HAVE A SUCCESSFUL EVENT IN MCKINNEY. THEY WILL HAVE THEIR DRUMLINE BATTLE AT STICKS ICE HOUSE THIS YEAR ON JULY 20/4. SO IT'LL BE THE SAME THING THEY DID LAST YEAR, BUT THEY DID IT. THE OLD TAPS LOCATION THIS YEAR WE'LL HAVE IT AT STICKS. AND THEN, OF COURSE, THE NEXT DAY IN MY SD STADIUM WILL BE DC MCKINNEY, WHICH IS A PHENOMENAL EVENT. HE DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE TO MAKE IT OUT. LAST YEAR, THEY HAVE MORE CORES COMING IN AND THIS YEAR AND SO I'M ASSUMING IT'S GOING TO BE EVEN EVEN A BETTER SHOW. ANOTHER THING THAT MIGHT NOT BE ON YOUR RADAR, BUT IT'S ON OURS, AND WE'RE ACTIVELY WORKING WITH MULTIPLE DEPARTMENTS IS THE TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE THAT'S COMING IN 2024, AND THAT WILL BE APRIL 8TH 2020 2024. AND IF YOU'VE STUDIED THESE AT ALL, OR LOOKED AT WHAT'S HAPPENED IN OTHER COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE, IT'S A HUGE TOURISM DRAW AND MCKINNEY HAPPENS TO BE IN A TOTAL BLACKOUT ZONE. SO WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW WITH COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING WITH THE LIBRARY WITH PARKS AND MAIN STREET, AND OUR TEAM, OF COURSE, IS COMING UP WITH A FEW KEY EVENTS IN MCKINNEY THAT WILL BE SPREAD OUT ACROSS THE COMMUNITY WHERE PEOPLE CAN GO AND EXPERIENCE THE ECLIPSE AS WELL AS COMING UP WITH DUES AND DON'T LIKE, DON'T STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF HOW WE WON 21 FOR, YOU KNOW, 10 MINUTES TO WATCH THE ECLIPSE. UM AND SO WE'LL BE SHARING OUT ALL OF THAT INFORMATION. BUT IT'S ALSO A BIG TOURISM DROPPED FROM A HOTEL STANDPOINT, PEOPLE TRAVEL FROM OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY THAT HAVE INTEREST IN THIS AND STAY JUST TO BE ABLE TO WALK OUTSIDE.
THAT'LL BE RIGHT AROUND NOON AND 12 12 30 SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE FOOD TRUCKS AND THINGS LIKE THAT AS A PART OF OUR EVENTS TO MAKE IT FUN. ANOTHER THING IS COMING IN EARLY JULY IN CIA OPENS UP ALL OF THEIR BID PACKETS FOR ALL OF THE NEXT ROUND OF THEIR BIDDING FOR CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS OF ALL SPORTS. OF COURSE, WE WILL GO BACK FOR BID FOR THE N C. A. A D TWO FOOTBALL GAME, WHICH I HOPE TO KEEP THAT IN MCKINNEY AND HAVE A GOOD FEELING THAT IT WILL STAY. BUT I'M ALSO WORKING WITH MIKE KOWSKI IN THE PARK'S TEAM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT OTHER EVENTS WE MIGHT WANT TO GO AFTER THAT FITS SOME OF OUR FACILITIES LIKE POTENTIAL. REALLY A LOWER LEVEL OF A SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP IN D TWO AND D THREE SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP. FOR OUR NEW FACILITY OR EVEN TENNIS. THINGS LIKE THAT, SO I'LL BE WORKING WITH HIM AND WE'LL PREPARE BIDS
[00:20:01]
FOR WHATEVER WE THINK, FITS MCKINNEY FOR THE FUTURE YEARS. AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, WE ARE ALSO DOING SOMETHING NEWEST OCTOBERFEST THIS YEAR WE ARE WORKING ON A HOTEL PACKAGE THAT ALL INCLUDES INCLUDES VIP AMENITIES THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE IN THE PAST. AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT ONE OF OUR NEWEST EMPLOYEES THAT CAME FROM ADDISON SHE DID FOR A MADISON, OCTOBERFEST AND ADDISON ALWAYS HAD A PRETTY SIGNIFICANT HOTEL PICK UP FOR THAT EVENT. WE HOPE TO CREATE SOMETHING FUN FOR PEOPLE AND SHUTTLES BACK AND FORTH FROM THE HOTEL PROPERTIES. THINGS LIKE THAT TO MAKE IT REALLY EASY ON HIM, BUT HOPEFULLY THEY'LL COME AND STAY AND ENJOY MULTIPLE DAYS AT THE EVENT. MY REPORTER'S STAND FOR ANY QUESTIONS. QUESTIONS FOR HIM. I JUST WANTED TO COMMENT ON YOUR THE TOTAL ECLIPSE NEXT APRIL, UM AND I CAN'T SPEAK IF WE'RE HAVING EVENTS AT OUR COLLEGE, BUT WE HAVE AN INCREDIBLE SET OF PHYSICS FACULTY THAT TEACH STARS AND GALAXIES COURSES AND THEY'RE THE MOST POPULAR COURSES WE HAVE. SO IF THERE IS ANY NEED FOR A BUNCH OF PROFESSORS TO COME TALK ABOUT ALL OF THE SCIENCE BEHIND CLIPS. THEY DO A REALLY GOOD JOB. THEY HAVE SOLAR PARTIES ANNUALLY FOR DIFFERENT THINGS WHEN WE HAVE MAYBE A PARTIAL ECLIPSE, BUT I'M JUST SORT OF OFFERING THAT UP. IF YOU WANT TO REACH OUT WE CAN TALK ABOUT. MAYBE THERE'S A PLACE FOR YOU CAN CONNECT AFTER THIS. I'M SURE THERE'S A WAY WE CAN TIE THAT IN TO MAKE IT FUN, ESPECIALLY BUILDING UP TO IT JUST TO CREATE SOME INTEREST. I AM A QUESTION. HOW'S IT COMING WITH YOU ALL YOUR REMODEL? I WAS OVER THERE RECENTLY. IT LOOKS GREAT. MUCH, MUCH IMPROVED WONDER HOW THE RETAIL PORTION AND SHAPING UP YET ONE STEP CLOSER. SO WE ACTUALLY HAVE SOMEONE AT 9 A.M. COMING OVER TO BUILD A FEW PIECES OF FURNITURE THAT ARE IN WHEN YOU CAME IN, I SHOWED YOU SOME OF THE DAMAGE FURNITURE. EXCUSE ME THAT'S COMING IN OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. SEEMS LIKE EVERY TIME WE GET SOMETHING NEW IN THE BOX IS JUST RIPPED TO SHREDS, AND THERE'S DAMAGE ON IT. AND SO WE'VE HAD SOME CHALLENGES AND NO, WE'RE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THAT IN THE MARKET, BUT WE ARE GETTING REALLY CLOSE. AND SO HOPEFULLY SOMEWHERE IN THE SUMMER WE CAN DO A GRAND OPENING. AND OF COURSE, EVERYONE WILL BE INVITED TO THAT. GREAT. THANKS, ERIN. OKAY NEXT WE HAVE PETER TOKER AND ME. D C. GOOD MORNING, MADAM PRESIDENT, VICE CHAIR OF THE BOARD PETER TOCAR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. UM IN CITY HALL THIS WEEK. WE HAD OUR MEETING TUESDAY MORNING FOR THE E. D. C WHERE WE APPROVED OUR ANNUAL BUDGET. UM WE ALSO APPROVED. WE'RE GOING TO BE DOING A BIG EVENT THIS YEAR BECAUSE THE E D. C IS 30 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR, SO WE WERE OFFICIALLY INCORPORATED MAY 10TH 1993. DURING IT WAS DURING THE BYRON NELSON WEEK THAT WE ACTUALLY TURNED 30. SO WE, YOU KNOW, WE DIDN'T WANT TO OVERSHADOW THE BYRON NELSON. PUT IT ON THE BACKWARD, YOU KNOW, WITH SUCH A MAJOR LIFE OF EVENT FOR THE E D. C BUT WE WILL BE DOING 1/30 ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION THIS YEAR. WE'RE PLANNING THAT FOR THE FALL SOME MORE DETAILS TO COME ON THAT. UM AND THEN FROM A REPORTING PERSPECTIVE, WE WERE STILL GOT TABULATING DATA FROM THE BYRON NELSON. UM AND WE SHOULD HAVE REPORT ON THAT. I KNOW WE GOT RECENTLY GOT THE CELL PHONE DATA AND HE PASSED THAT ON TO US. SO THANK YOU FOR THAT. WE'RE PUTTING THAT INTO A CONCERT. COMPREHENSIVE REPORT WITH INFORMATION WE GET BOTH FROM THE PGA AND SALESMANSHIP CLUB AS IT COMES IN, SO WE'RE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT THE TOTAL IMPACT WAS THIS PAST YEAR. UM WE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH ALL OF OUR CITY PARTNERS THAT SERVED MCKINNEY LAST WEEK. SO THANKS FOR EVERYONE WHO WAS ABLE TO COME OUT TO THAT. I KNOW WE WERE SIDE BY SIDE WITH OUR BOOZE. THAT WAS A GREAT EVENT. I THINK THE RAIN KEPT LOT OF PEOPLE AWAY. THAT WAS LAST YEAR, BUT IT WAS STILL A GREAT EVENT. HAPPY TO DO IT THIS MORNING, MICHAEL TALLY. YOU KNOW, WE'RE GETTING INVOLVED WITH THE COMMUNITY TRYING TO BE MORE ENGAGED WITH THE COMMUNITY. MICHAEL TALLY THIS MORNING SPEAKING TO A GROUP OF REALTORS WITH THE RED NEWS EVENT, UM WE WERE FEATURED OF THE WAS FEATURED IN THE CITY. MCKINNEY WAS FEATURED AS AN INNOVATION CITY AT THE FIRST EVER S. M U. G G S V SUMMIT LAST MONTH. WHICH IS REALLY COOL EVENT, SO G S V IS THE UM. GREATER SILICON VALLEY, AND THEY USUALLY DO AN EVENT WITH ISSUE BUT THEY'VE BROKEN OUT INTO TEXAS AND PARTNERED WITH S M U THIS YEAR TO DO THIS INNOVATION CONFERENCE DOWNTOWN, AND WE HAD A WHOLE SECTION ON CITIES THAT ARE INNOVATING, AND THEY ASKED US TO BE PART OF THAT BASED ON A LOT OF THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING HERE, SO THAT WAS A REALLY GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO PROMOTE THE CITY. SPEAKING OF INNOVATION, WE JUST HIRED A NEW PROJECT MANAGER MIKE WILKES. SO NEXT TIME YOU GUYS ARE IN THE OFFICE TO MAKE SURE WE INTRODUCED YOU TO HIM. HE'S GOING TO BE, UH PUSHING FORWARD OUR INNOVATION EFFORTS WORKING WITH THE INNOVATION FUND. HE'S A BOTH A MILITARY VETERAN AND RECENT GRADUATE OF TEXAS A AND M UM, HE HAS A BACKGROUND IN INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP , SO WE'RE EXCITED TO BRING HIM[00:25:01]
ONTO THE TEAM. WE THINK HE'S GOING TO DO SOME REALLY GREAT THINGS WITH PUSHING THE INNOVATION FUND FORWARD. AND THEN THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT I CAN SAY THIS MORNING IS WE LAUNCHED A PODCAST SO SEVERAL MONTHS AGO IN THIS MONTH ARE FEATURED SPEAKERS, NONE OTHER THAN THE GREAT AND WONDERFUL. AND THE WOODS FROM THE SEA SEAPORT. SO PLEASE, IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO TUNE INTO OUR IT'S CALLED MCKINNEY MOMENTUM, WE CAN FIND IT ON ANY OF YOUR REGULAR PODCAST CHANNELS . BUT WE HAD A GREAT INTERVIEW. Q AND A SESSION WITH THE ENERGY AND WE APPRECIATE THE PARTNERSHIP THAT YOU GUYS CONTINUE TO PROVIDE US EVERY DAY. STAND FOR ANY QUESTIONS. QUESTIONS FOR PETER. THANK YOU. NEXT UP IS MAIN STREET MCKINNEY . I DON'T SEE ANDREW. SO, JACKIE, ARE YOU FILLING IN THE MORNING. GOOD MORNING. ALRIGHT SO I JUST GRABBED MY NOTES, BUT I LEFT MY GLASSES, SO WE'LL SEE HOW THIS GOES. ALRIGHT SO FIRST OF ALL, ANDREW APOLOGIZE FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO BE HERE. UM HE IS AT A CONFERENCE WITH OUR NEW DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER GRAHAM MYERS, SO THEY'RE HAVING A GREAT TIME. UM HE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THAT HELPED DURING THE JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION, INCLUDING GREGORY HEARNS, LAURA MARSH AND HEIDI WIESE. THE MCKINNEY ARTS COMMISSION. OKAY HAVE MISSED THE DATE FOR THE MARGARITA WALK BECAUSE YOU SAID LOTS OF WATCH YOUR WORDS AND THEN YOU SAID MARGARITA WILLIAM JULY A OKAY, THE EIGHTH. YOU NEED TO MOVE THAT TO LIKE A WEEK LATER. WE'LL WORK ON THAT. THANK YOU. I APPRECIATE IT. OKAY THANK YOU. AND NEXT UP IS PARTISAN WRECK AND MR KOWSKI. GOOD MORNING, EVERYBODY. MICHAEL KOWSKI, DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION. JULY IS ALWAYS A BUSY MONTH FOR OUR DEPARTMENT. JULY 3RD FIREWORKS AT GABE NESBITT PARK, CRAIG RANCH SOCCER FACILITIES UNDER CONSTRUCTION, SO WE MOVED IT TO GAME NESBITT FESTIVITIES STARTED SIX PM BANDS , FOOD TRUCKS GAINED FOR KIDDOS EVERYTHING ELSE. WE'LL HAVE A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THAT. THE INDOOR TENNIS FACILITY IS OFFICIALLY OPEN NOW. WE HAVE A KIND OF COMMUNITY CELEBRATION FOR THAT PROJECT. WE HAVE MOVIES IN THE PARK AS WELL AS THE TRAILS APPRECIATION DAY, SO ON YOUR CALENDARS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE EACH WEEKEND IN JULY WHILE ANOTHER SPECIAL EVENT TO CELEBRATE THE CITY OF MCKINNEY AND WHAT PARKS RECREATION BRINGS TO THE TABLE AND WITH THAT I WILL STAND FOR ANY QUESTIONS. QUESTIONS FOR MR KOWSKI. SO FOR THE FIREWORKS ARE Y'ALL GONNA OPEN THE APEX POOL AND LET PEOPLE COME IN AND FLOAT IN THE POOL AND WATCH THE FIREWORKS THIS YEAR? THIS YEAR, APEX EVER CLOSE DOWN EARLY TO FREE UP SOME PARKING IN THE AREA AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE. WELL I'LL JUST SAY THAT I ATTENDED YOUR BOARD MEETING THIS MONTH, AND IT WAS GREAT. LEAGUES SO THAT THEY HAVE WHAT THEY NEED TO OFFER QUALITY PRODUCTS. SO AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU, UM ANY JOY JUST TO COMMENT . I HAD A CHANCE TO POP INTO THE COURTS THE OTHER DAY WHILE I WAS AT THE APEC CENTER. T BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYBODY WAS BUZZING WITH EXCITEMENT, TAKING TOURS AND VISITING IN THE WHOLE COURTS COMPLEX WAS WAS ABUZZ WITH CAMP AND EARLY MORNING LESSONS, AND IT WAS JUST THRILLING TO SEE THAT MUCH ACTIVITY AND I THINK IT WAS ABOUT A QUARTER OF EIGHT IN THE MORNING. SO YEAH, THAT'S OFF. THANKS FOR SHARING. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU. SO FROM THE BOARD PERSPECTIVE, WE DO NOT HAVE A TUFTS SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT THIS MONTH. WORK CONTINUES THERE AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU UPDATED AS THERE'S INFORMATION TO SHARE A LOT GOING ON THIS MONTH IN MCKINNEY FOR OUR BOARD. I KNOW A LOT OF US WENT HAVE WENT TO THE MILLHOUSE MURAL FEST. I WAS THERE WITH MY WIFE, WHO WAS AN AWESOME EVENT. UM ALL WEEKEND LONG AND APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS AT COTTON MILL FOR PUTTING THAT ON. I ALSO ATTENDED THE SPG BEER WALK. UM NICE. WELL IT WAS HOT. UM IT WAS RIDICULOUSLY HOT BUT GOOD EVENT AND ALWAYS WELL EXECUTED. OTHER THINGS BEEN GOING ON. WE HAD THE WALL RAISING FOR HABITATS. THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL WAY TO GO WITH THE FAMILY TO SET OUT ON THE LAWN AND ENJOY CONCERT. I WAS MARRIED THOMAS BAND THAT WAS THERE. SO IT WAS A FANTASTIC AND THEN YEAH. THEN SATURDAY, I ATTENDED WITH OUR CHAIRWOMAN FOR THE HABITAT WALL. RAISING THE 100TH HOUSE WAS PRETTY FANTASTIC OF THE NAVY VETERAN, WHICH MAYBE GOT TO SO MISTER GRIMES. YOU KNOW, SHE WAS FANTASTIC TO TALK WITH AND SEE. JUST THE, UH THE SMILE ON THE FAMILIES FACE KNOWING THAT THEY'RE GOING TO BE MOVING IN TO A NEW HOUSE AND THEN JUNETEENTH. I'M SURE SHE'S LISTENING, BUT OUR CITY SECRETARY EMPRESS DID A FANTASTIC JOB WITH THAT. THERE'S A COUPLE HICCUPS. WE HAD THERE WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. I'VE GOT SOME VENDORS PLUGGED IN WHEN THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO PLUG IN. SO IT GOT DELAYED A LITTLE BIT, BUT SHE STEPPED UP COUNCIL ONE FELT A STEPPED UP OUR CHAIR , ANGELA, IT WAS JUST A FANTASTIC EVENT TO SEE THE COMMUNITY. THERE IS MANY PEOPLE ARE THERE AND IT'S PATIENT AS THEY WERE. AH AS WE WORK THROUGH. I THINK IT TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF TO GET ELECTRICITY BACK UP. WE HAD CALLED MATT HAMILTON'S TO BRING HIS GENERATOR TO GET IT GOING. BUT THAT'S THAT'S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT OUR CITY. THERE'S SOMETHING HAPPENS, PEOPLE JUMP IN AND GET IT TAKEN CARE OF PRETTY QUICKLY AND THEN AFTER THAT, THAT WAS ASKED TO GO TUESDAY THIS PAST TUESDAY, THERE'S A HOUSE ON THE EAST SIDE THAT THE HABITAT OF THE WORKING WITH THERE WAS A LADY THAT'S IN HER SEVENTIES AND GOING BLIND THAT HER NEIGHBOR'S TREE FELL ON HER HOUSE. SO THE WHOLE HOUSE SHIFTED OVER DOING BUT THE HABITAT IS STEPPING IN GETTING NEW ROOF REMODELING FOR HER, AND IT'S GONNA BE FANTASTIC, AND IT'S JUST NICE TO SEE THE WORK THAT WE'RE ACTUALLY DOING FOR THE PEOPLE OF MCKINNEY. SO THANK YOU. YEP AND I WILL JUST SAY HATS OFF WHERE THEY SERVED IN KIDNEY EVENT. IT WAS JUST REALLY LOVELY TO SEE EVERYBODY THERE AND TO HAVE TIME TO VISIT WITH SOME OF OUR NOT FOR PROFIT WHO WERE ATTENDING AND LEARN NEW INFORMATION WAS ALSO GREAT. COLLEAGUES THIS WEEK HAS GONE SO FAST TO GO TO THE RECEPTION FOR OUR NEW SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT. LOTS OF US WERE THERE FOR THAT AND GOOD TO SEE THE SUPPORT IN THE COMMUNITY FOR THAT EVENT. COME ON, COME IN ABOUT THE TO THE PARKS DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR CONCERT SERIES THAT THERE WHERE THE DOG PARK IS OR SO MANY PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE THERE'S A OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATER THERE, AND THEY HAVE WEEKLY CONCERTS DURING PART OF THE SUMMER, ALTHOUGH LAST THURSDAY THEY CANCELED ONE BECAUSE OF THE RAIN. WE DIDN'T

THAT'S A PRETTY BIG CHUNK OF CHANGE FOR US, BUT THAT $3000 A MONTH IS COMING FROM OUR OWN. COFFERS WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR SUPPORT FOR THAT. SO THAT'S WHY WE'RE ASKING FOR SUPPORT FOR ALL OF OUR PRINT MEDIUM. HERE'S OUR EVENT BUDGET. AND I'M SAVING TIME AT THE END BECAUSE I'M AN AWESOME VIDEO. HMM. AND THERE WE GO. HOW DO I DO THAT? COMMUNITY EVENT GRANT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BY[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by McKinney Lacrosse Club (PC #23-15) in the Amount of $3,100.00 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2023 Fall Turlaxin’ Tournament.]
THE MCKINNEY LACROSSE CLUB IN THE AMOUNT OF $3100 FOR THE FAULT RELAXANT TOURNAMENT. AND I BELIEVE YOU ARE FRED NICKENS. I AM AWESOME. WELCOME, FRED. GOOD MORNING. MY NAME IS FREDERICK NICHOLS. THANK YOU FOR HAVING US THANKS FOR PARKS AND REC FOR DEALING WITH THIS ALL THROUGH THE YEARS AND VISIT MCKINNEY AND OVER THE CROSS IS THE FASTEST GROWING SPORT IN AMERICA CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW, UM, WITH MCKINNEY, THE CROSS CLUB AND WE'VE BEEN AROUND SINCE 2005.WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS TOURNAMENT SINCE 2012. I'M GONNA GO REALLY BECAUSE YOU'VE HEARD US BEFORE EVERYTHING. UM WE'RE GOING TO. WE'RE ASKING FOR THIS $3100 JUST TO FOR ADVERTISING SO WE CAN CAST A WIDER NET RIGHT ACROSS THIS FAST GROWING, BUT IT GROWS ON THE COAST MOSTLY, NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY. WE'RE TRYING TO GROW UP BETTER IN THE COUNTRY. SO WE HAVE OUTLETS LIKE USA LACROSSE. US. LACROSSE TEXAS LACROSSE, SO WE THROW THIS NET OUT IN ADVERTISING FOR MORE MONEY SO WE CAN DO MORE ADVERTISING DOLLARS SO WE CAN BRING IN. THIS IS OUR ANNUAL TOURNAMENT IN THE LAST THREE WEEKENDS AND EXCUSE ME OCTOBER. SO WHAT WE DO IS IN OCTOBER. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE CROSS, OCTOBER IS MORE DEVELOPMENTAL. SPRING IS THE ACTUAL SEASON. SO WE HAVE. WE ARE VERY PROMINENT HERE. WE HAVE A LOT OF PLAYERS GOING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. WE WISH TEXAS WOULD ADOPT IT, AND THAT'S WHY WE'RE TRYING TO DO THIS SO WE CAN GET TEXAS TO ADAPT THE GAME OF LACROSSE. SO WE'RE GROWING IT SO WE GET PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER WE'VE TOURNAMENT NORMALLY HAS ABOUT 150 TEAMS COMING FROM CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA, OKLAHOMA AND NOW WE'RE TRYING TO GET TEAMS FROM THE EAST COAST BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER'S BEEN PLAYING FOR SEVEN YEARS AND WE TRAVEL ALL OVER THE SUMMER AND ALL OVER THE FALL AND WE GO TO THE EAST COAST. WE GO TO THE WEST COAST WERE TRYING TO GET SOME OF THOSE PEOPLE TO COME HERE TO START TO SPEND MONEY HERE IN BEAUTIFUL MCKINNEY BECAUSE, AFTER LISTENING TO EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON HERE, WE HAVE SO MUCH TO OFFER. AND I WOULD I WOULD TELL VISIT MCKINNEY PROBABLY GO AND HE JUST LEFT BUT TO TRY TO GET AH, THE NATIONAL LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY. THAT MIGHT BE A NET AND THAT HAVING US DO THAT WOULD BE GREATER. IT WOULD WOULD BE A GREATER CHANCE FOR HIM TO DO THAT. PLEASE PLEASE, WE GO. I'M GONNA GIVE YOU BACK A LOT OF YOUR TIME. UM WE HAVE 3000 PARTICIPANTS. MOST ARM ON AVERAGE, MOST ACROSS PARENTS SPENT ABOUT $1000 A YEAR IN TRAVEL AND MONEY ON ONE THINGS, SUCH AS NOT ENTRY FEES, NOT REGISTRATION FEES THAT'S SEPARATE, BUT TO TRAVEL AND TO EAT AND TO HOUSING. WE SPENT ABOUT A GRAND A YEAR ON AVERAGE . SOME OF US A LITTLE BIT MORE
[00:50:01]
OF DEPENDS ON HOW MANY TOURNAMENTS YOUR PLAN. IF YOU SEE AT THE BOTTOM UM, ONE OF THE HOTEL BENEFIT AND WHERE VERY WELL, WE PICKED UP 26 ROOMS ON PEAK. SO WHAT HAPPENS IS THINK ABOUT OCTOBER IS NOT A BIG TRAVEL SEASON, SO THAT'S A GREAT TIME TO BRING PEOPLE IN TO THIS CITY AND THEN THIS AREA TO GET MORE REVENUE DURING A DOWN TIME DURING THE YEAR, RIGHT? BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE AREN'T TRAVELING TO SCHOOL IS GOING ON. IT'S RIGHT BEFORE THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY , SO A LOT OF PEOPLE AREN'T TRAVELING. SO IF WE CAN GET MORE ECONOMIC DOLLARS HERE THROUGH A GAME THAT'S ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING IN AMERICA. WHY NOT? AND THAT, AND THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE ASKING THE MONEY FOR ADVERTISING . THAT'S SOLELY WHAT WE'RE DOING . WE'RE TRYING TO CAST THIS HUGE NET OUT TO GET MORE PEOPLE IN FROM THE COAST TO SHOW THEM THAT WHAT TEXAS IS ABOUT IN MCKINNEY AND HOW GREAT THE CITY IS NEXT, PLEASE. NEXT. NEXT NEXT NEXT. NEXT. I SAID ALL THIS. OKAY SO THIS IS WHERE THE ADVERTISING DOLLARS ARE GOING TO GO. USA CLUB LACROSSE. EXCUSE ME. US DOUBLE CROSS US A LACROSSE, WHICH IS THE SANCTIONING BODY FOR THE UNITED STATES. US LACROSSE, TEXAS AND GOOGLE, WHICH IS GOING TO TOTAL $3100 WITH THAT, UM DONE. SESSIONS SAID THAT YOU'LL NORMALLY HAVE ABOUT 150 TEAMS. THE $3100, WHICH WAS WHICH WAS GO. HOW? HOW? HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO INCREASE THAT BY OR HOW MUCH CAN YOU INCREASE THAT, BUT WE COULD GO UP TO. ESSENTIALLY WE WANT TO GO TO 200 TEAMS. UM YEAH. WE WANT TO GO TO 200 TEAMS BECAUSE BECAUSE THIS IS A SANCTIONED EVENT BY US A LACROSSE. SO IT GOES OUT IN THE USA LACROSSE MAGAZINE. SO THIS IS LIKE I SAID, THIS IS A THIS IS A SANCTIONED EVENT. THIS IS NOT A FLY BY NET, YOU KNOW, EVENT THIS IS NOT SOMETHING WE COME UP WITH IS A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED EVENT. SO WHAT WE'RE TRYING TO DO IS GET BECAUSE, LIKE I SAID, LACROSSE IS PLAYED MAINLY ON THE COAST, THE EAST COAST AND THE WEST COAST. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT IN DIVISION ONE LACROSSE, THERE'S A DIVISION ONE TEAM IN DENVER. THAT'S THE CLOSEST ONE TO HEAR DENVER AND THAT'S AND THAT'S A MAIL PROGRAM AND THE FEMALE PROGRAM. THE CLOSEST ONE WE GET WOULD BE, UH, YOU SNOWDEN DAME NOW STARTING TO HAVE A TEAM , BUT THAT'S SO YOU SEE, THERE'S A BIG GAP HERE, AND WE'RE GOING TO PROMOTE IT IN THAT WAY AND SHOW THAT WE CAN. WE CAN PUT ON A QUALITY EVENTS AND MAYBE EVENTUALLY WE WILL PARTNER WITH THE CITY OF MCKINNEY AND MCKINNEY VISITED BUREAU TO TRY TO GET THE NATIONAL EVENTS HERE. IF WE CAN SHOW WE WERE SHOWING THEM THAT WE CAN GET 150 150 TEAMS 150 TEAMS IN THINK ABOUT A NATIONAL EVENT. IF YOU'VE WATCHED ACROSS ON TV WHEN THOSE TOURNAMENTS ARE GOING ON THIS HUGE, THEY PLAY HIM IN COLLEGE STADIUMS, RIGHT? AND WE COULD PLAY, YOU KNOW, PARTNERED WITH THE MCKINNEY, I S D AND PLAYED AT THAT BIG STADIUM. THAT BEAUTIFUL STADIUM THAT THEY MADE. AND I REMEMBER WE GAVE YOU GUYS MONEY LAST YEAR, TOO, RIGHT? YES SIR. HOW TO? HOW EFFECTIVE WAS THAT? DID Y'ALL SEE AN INCREASE INCREASED BY FIVE TEAMS, ACTUALLY. WELL I'LL JUST MAKE ONE COMMENT FROM THE PARKS BOARD MEETING THAT I ATTENDED LAST MONTH. I LEARNED I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT DOES NOT SPONSOR SUPPORT. ENGAGE OR HELP. WILL CROSS IN MCKINNEY IN ANY WAY, AND THAT IS A MAJOR LIMITING FACTOR TO YOUR ABILITY TO ENGAGE KIDS AND TEAMS AND OTHERS HERE IN MCKINNEY, SO I'LL JUST SAY THAT I HOPE WE CAN FIND A WAY TO WORK WITH MISTY TO GET ACROSS, RECOGNIZES A SPORT, UM IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND HOPEFULLY WE CAN FIND A WAY TO, UH TO GIVE MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO ALL THE KIDS HERE IN MCKINNEY, SO, YEAH , SO VIA EDITED FOR YOUR EDUCATION YOU I'LL DOESN'T HAVE IT ON THE SCHEDULE FOR 10 YEARS NOW AND ARE SOME OF THE PRIVATE SCHOOLS. UM HOSTING LACROSSE IN THE IN THE DALLAS WHAT WERE THE AREA? YEAH LIKE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT ST MARK'S DOWN IN DALLAS HOCKADAY, THEY ACTUALLY HAVE LACROSSE PROGRAMS ACROSS PROGRAMS BECAUSE PRIVATE SCHOOLS DO IT. IT'S JUST PUBLIC SCHOOLS HAVING DONE BECAUSE YOU I O HAS NOT ADOPTED IT. AND LIKE YOU SAID, MR MR CHAIR OF IT'S A CHALLENGE SOMETIMES WITH M I S D AND WE'RE WORKING THROUGH THEM EVERY DAY. AND WE'RE WORKING THROUGH, BUT IT'S WE'RE GETTING PROGRESS. SLOWLY AND SLOWLY, BECAUSE YOU KNOW, WE CONTEND WONDERBOY SIDE WE CAN WE GO UP AGAINST FOOTBALL. UM LITERALLY, AND THAT'S WHAT WE DO. WE GO UP AGAINST FOOTBALL AND WE CAN WE CAN BE MARRIED TOGETHER AND MUTUALLY PLAYING BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. UM THERE'S NO WE'RE NOT TRYING TO STEAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS WERE TRYING TO WORK WITH HIM. RIGHT WELL, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, MR. THANK YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY. THANK YOU. OKAY NEXT IS 23-0487, THE COMMUNITY EVENT GRANT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BY[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by McKinney Repertory Theatre (PC 23-16) in the Amount of $14,990.98 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2023-2024 Show Season Including Twenty-Two Performances of Five Unique Shows.]

I RECALL THAT YOU DID EXACTLY THE SAME THING. LAST TIME YOU WERE HERE, KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK, AND THAT'S WHAT WHAT MORE SHOULD WE EXPECT FROM A THEATER PERSON? THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU KNOW. ALL RIGHT . NEXT UP IS 23-048 THE EVENT[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by Art Club of McKinney (PC 23-17) in the Amount of $4,200.00 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2023-24 Season.]
GRANT APPLICATION. BY THE ART CLUB OF MCKINNEY, ONE OF OUR NEW FRIENDS AND WE HAVE THAT IS IN THE AMOUNT OF $4200 FOR THEIR 2023 2024 SEASON AND WE HAVE BETH MORTON'S AND I HAVE TO. I HAVE TO FOLLOW DAVINA. THAT'S HARD, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S A WHEN I'M A NEWBIE. OKAY HI. MY NAME IS BETH MORTENSEN. I AM THE IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT FOR THE ART CLUB OF MCKINNEY. AND NOW I AM THEIR GRANTS MANAGER, WHICH I'M EXCITED ABOUT, BECAUSE I LOVE IT. WE ALSO HAVE CATHERINE WEEKLY. SHE'S HERE. SHE'S OUR NEW PRESIDENT. SO I WOULD LIKE YOU TO SEE HER. OKAY UM, THIS IS WORKING. YEAH. AND PROBABLY NOT PUSHING THE RIGHT BUTTON. OKAY? YEP. OKAY I WON'T READ THIS TO YOU BECAUSE I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE IT AND YOU CAN READ IT YOURSELF, BUT I DID WANT TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT THIS ENTAILS. THE UNIQUE ASPECT OF THE ART CLUB OF MCKINNEY IS THAT WE'RE A NONPROFIT SUPPORT ORGANIZATION. WE'RE NOT ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN TRYING TO SELL ART. THEREFORE THERE IS NO COMPETITIVE ATTITUDE THAT WE HAVE. AND IN FACT, WE LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTNER WITH ALL THE ARTS ORGANIZATIONS. THOSE BEING FOR PROFIT AND NOT FOR PROFIT IN THE COMMUNITY. AND WE HAVE EXAMPLES OF THAT WITH LIKE ARTS AND BLOOM AND ALSO ART MEETS POETRY. ART MEETS FASHION ART MEETS FLORAL, SO WE LOVE TO PARTNER WITH THE DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS. WE ARE PRIMARILY INTERESTED IN ART, EDUCATION, ACCESS TO ART AND PROMOTION OF ARTS IN MCKINNEY AND OUR MISSION. INDEED STATES THAT WE ARE TO ELEVATE THE STANDARDS OF THE COMMUNITY BY EDUCATION THROUGH VARIOUS PROJECTS. OF THE CLUB AND PROGRAMS SPONSORED ARE PRESENTED BY THE CLUB. ONE THING TO NOTE HERE IS THAT WE HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME SINCE 1914 CATHERINE HEARD CRAIG WHEN SHE WAS HERE. SORRY, I KNEW THAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN. CATHERINE CATHERINE HARD, CRAIG HERSELF WAS AN ARTIST, A PRODIGY AS A MATTER OF FACT, AND SHE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT ARTS REMAINED IN FOCUS OR THE FOCUS OF THE CITY OF MCKINNEY. SO THEY ARE CLUB OF MCKINNEY WAS FORMED, AND THAT HAS BEEN OUR GOAL TO INCREASE AWARENESS TO EDUCATE TO PROMOTE ARTS. AND THE UNIQUE BY NATURE THAT MCKINNEY HAS, I THINK HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THE ARTS, AND SO WE'RE REALLY EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO REPRESENT THAT. WE HAVE BEEN A BIT SLEEPY . I KNOW THAT, BUT IN THE LAST TWO YEARS WE CAN GO AHEAD AND CHANGE THAT. IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, WE HAVE ACTUALLY INCREASED OUR MEMBERSHIP BY 25 TO 30. WE HAVE BEEN BLOWING AND GOING. WE HAVE BEEN ACTIVE. WE HAVE BEEN EXCITED. WE'VE BEEN ENTHUSIASTIC. A LOT OF OUR NEW MEMBERS ARE YOUNGER, ENERGETIC, AGAIN, ENTHUSIASTIC WITH VARIED ART INTEREST. SO, UM. I THINK THAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING A VERY FINE JOB WITH GETTING MORE EXCITED AND MORE AWARE AND MORE VISIBLE IN THE COMMUNITY, AND THAT IS THE HEART OF THE MATTER HERE FOR THE MACD IN MY SORRY THE IN MY OPINION, WE HAVE A DYNAMIC PERSONALITY IN MCKINNEY, ONE THAT SHINES AND EXCITES WITH ART AND ALL ITS FORM AND WE ARE AND CAN BE AND CONTINUE TO BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF ITS UNIQUE NATURE. WITH PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT , WHICH, HONESTLY, WE HAVE NEVER HAD BEFORE. WE HAVE ANY PROMOTION THAT WE'VE DONE HAS COME OUT OF OUR VERY TINY BUDGET AND OFTENTIMES MEMBERS WILL PULL INTO THEIR OWN POCKET IN ORDER TO HAVE SOME TYPE OF PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL SO WE WOULD LOVE TO[01:05:05]
HAVE YOUR SUPPORT. AND WITH THAT SUPPORT, WE BELIEVE THAT WE CAN MOVE MORE SUCCESSFULLY. AND FULFILLING OUR MISSION AND ATTRACT MORE ATTENTION AND INTEREST. OKAY CAN GO AHEAD AND CHANGE THAT. OKAY YOU DID THE STUDENTS SHOW, I THINK IS A VERY IMPORTANT SHOW BECAUSE IT'S ONE OF THE FIRST SHOWS THAT STUDENTS OF THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS AND ALSO THE PRIVATE SCHOOLS AND THE HOMESCHOOLERS CAN GET INVOLVED WITH IT WILL BE THE FIRST TIME PERHAPS THAT THEY HAVE EVER SHOWN THEIR ART. OH MY GOD, I'M OUT OF TIME. OKAY ANYWAY, I WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE THAT BECAUSE THAT IS THE ESSENCE OF OUR MISSION AHEAD AND CHANGE. YOU CAN SEE HERE THAT WE GET A LOT OF ATTENTION RIGHT NOW AND RIGHT. THERE IS A GOOD ONE THE DAYS AND HOURS OF OUR EVENTS WHEN WE SHOW THESE THE DATES ARE ON THE WEEKEND, THE EVENT HOURS ARE SUCH THAT THE VISITORS TO THESE PROGRAMS ARE ABLE TO GO INTO THE COMMUNITY. AND JUST LIKE THE THEATER, THEY CAN HAVE DINNER. HAVE A GLASS OF WINE. GO TO THIS. THE DIFFERENT ART SHOW ART SHOPS. OKAY, GO AHEAD AND CONTINUE. ART MEETS POETRY. WE HAD OUR SECOND YEAR LAST YEAR. IT WAS CRAZY, SUCCESSFUL, AND I WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE THAT, AND THAT WAS ONE OF THE ONES THAT PEOPLE IN OUR ORGANIZATIONS BOTH IN THE POETRY SOCIETY AND THE ART CLUB OF MCKINNEY PULLED OUT OF THEIR OWN. PERSONAL POCKETS TO COME UP WITH ADVERTISING, AND WE MORE THAN DOUBLED OUR ATTENDANCE LAST YEAR. OKAY WE CAN CONTINUE SO YOU CAN SEE THEIR ART MEETS POETRY IS SUCH AN AWESOME EVENT. THIS IS THE TYPE OF POSTCARD THAT WE HAVE BEEN USING, AND YOU CAN CONTINUE THE MEMBER ART SHOWS ALWAYS SUCCESSFUL. WE GET LOTS OF PEOPLE. IF YOU DISCONTINUE, YOU'LL SEE IT'S OKAY. THANK YOU SAID THAT I DID. THANK YOU. YOU SAID THAT, OKAY? ALL RIGHT. WELL, THEN THE MEMBER ART SHOW HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE THE ART CLUB HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE, AND IT'S JUST A FABULOUS EVENT. BUT REALLY ALL OF THE EVENTS ARE FABULOUS. AND I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK SINCE YOU HAVE GIVEN ME A MOMENT OF TIME TO THE ART MEETS POETRY. WE DID THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME TWO YEARS AGO, AND IT WAS SO BEAUTIFULLY EMOTIONAL THAT THE ARTIST WOULD USE THE POETRY AS AMUSED TO MAKE THEIR ART AND THE POETS WOULD USE ART ATTEMPT AS THEIR VIEWS TO MAKE THEIR POETRY AND THEY DIDN'T MEET UNTIL THEY CAME TOGETHER AND THE PRODUCTS WERE ON THE WALL AND TEARS FLOWED. PEOPLE HUGGED. IT WAS JUST SUCH AN AMAZING EVENT. AND PERHAPS MY MOST FAVORITE EVENT THAT HAVE BEEN INVOLVED WITH EVER SO PEOPLE FOR FROM THE POETRY SOCIETY COME FROM MOSTLY FROM THE DALLAS AREA. THIS IS THE MCKINNEY MOCKINGBIRD POETRY SOCIETY, BUT MOSTLY THEY'RE IN THE NORTH DALLAS AREA. THEY COME . THEY COME WITH THEIR FRIENDS. THEY COME WITH THEIR FAMILY. AND SO WE ARE INDEED BRINGING PEOPLE INTO MCKINNEY. TO VISIT SHOPS SPEND SOME MONEY STAY, PERHAPS IN SOME OF OUR LOCAL ESTABLISHMENTS, SO I DON'T WANT YOU TO THINK THAT IT'S JUST AN ART CLUB. I MEAN, WE ARE SERIOUSLY EVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY. WE WANT THE COMMUNITY TO GROW. WE WANT THE ARTS. TO GROW IN MCKINNEY AND I LOVE IT THAT WHEN WE THINK OF MCKINNEY AS BEING UNIQUE BY NATURE, ART IS A BIG PART OF THAT, AND THAT'S IT. OH THANK YOU.AUDIENCE OKAY. CAN I ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS? QUESTIONS FOR BETH, WHERE ARE YOU GONNA BE? ADVERTISING IT AND IT'S A SLIDE ON YOUR PLACE. I DIDN'T DO THAT, BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW NEXT TIME I'VE BEEN TAKING NOTES. NEXT TIME I'LL DO THAT. BUT WE WERE HOPING TO PUT IN SOME PRINT ADS IN THE COMMUNITY IMPACT FOR THREE OF THE SHOW'S QUARTER PAGE ONES, WHICH WOULD BE ABOUT $1800. WE'RE GOING TO BE USING BY THE WAY EVERY FREE ADVERTISING AVENUE WE HAVE. SO WE WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT ONLINE ADS FACEBOOK INSTAGRAM, WE CAN DO SOME TARGETED WORK THERE. WE THINK WE WOULD BENEFIT FROM A REUSABLE SANDWICH BOARDS. WE PUT THEM OUTSIDE THAT WOULD BE DRAWING PEOPLE IN LOCALLY, NOT NECESSARILY FROM OUTSIDE, BUT IT WILL HELP. EVENT POSTERS A FRAME . I'M SORRY. I SAID THAT ALREADY INVITATION CARDS, CARDS AND BANNERS TO SEND OUT TO PERHAPS LIKE THE ART ART CLUB OF DALLAS , THE ART CLUB, BUT FRISCO ETCETERA TO GET MORE PEOPLE INTO THE COMMUNITY TO NOT ONLY SEE THE SHOW BUT TO VISIT THE LOCAL VENDORS AND LOCAL MERCHANTS.
THANK YOU DID THAT ANSWER THAT? SO THE TOTAL IS $4200. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS. OKAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH. YOU SO ON THIS ONE. I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF HAROLD. SO I HAVE TO HAVE TO LEAVE THE ROOM.

EXCUSE ME. UM DEBRA'S GONNA TAKE CARE OF THIS FOR US, BOTH THROUGH CARRION'S SO AS A MEMBER OF THE ROTARY DAVID KELLY IS RECUSING HIMSELF AT THIS TIME. SO ITEM NUMBER 23-0489 CONSIDER[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by McKinney Rotary Foundation (PC 23-18) in the Amount of $7,500.00 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2023 Parade of Lights.]
DISCUSSED PROMOTIONAL COMMUNITY EVENT GRANT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BY THE MCKINNEY ROTARY FOUNDATION. PC 23-18 IN THE AMOUNT OF $7500 FOR THE ADVERTISING, MARKETING AND PROMOTION OF THE 2023. PARADE OF LIGHTS. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I GIVE YOU HAROLD MCLEAR. THAT'S GREAT. THAT'S FANTASTIC. NOW I'M HAROLD MCLEOD. I'M WITH THEIR DOWNTOWN MCKINNEY ROTARY CLUB. I JUST WANT TO FIRST OF ALL SHARE MY SINCERE APPRECIATION OF Y'ALL FOR YOUR PASSPORT. THIS WILL BE THE 20/4 YEAR THAT WE'VE PUT IN A GRAND UP PLATE OCCASION. YOU HAVE SUPPORTED US FOR 23. WE HOPE THAT CONTINUES. UM AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU ALL KNOW THE IMPACT THAT Y'ALL'S SUPPORT HAS ON THE OVERALL COMMUNITIES. SO LAST YEAR WAS AN INTERESTING YEAR. BUT THIS COMING YEAR WE PLAN TO KEEP TO THE SAME PROGRAM . I WANT TO TAKE THIS MOMENT TO ANNOUNCE THAT SANTA I TALKED TO HIM LAST WEEK. I REALLY DID. UM, HE'S ON MY CELL PHONE. I HAVE HIS NUMBER. I WILL FOR A SMALL FEE I'LL SHARE WITH YOU, BUT HE DID AGREE. TO THE DECEMBER 9TH DAY. I WAS IN, UM, LENGTHY NEGOTIATIONS WITH HE AND HIS LEGAL COUNSEL, WHICH HAS SAID ELFIN THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT I CONVEY TO YOU ALL THAT HE ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS PARADE AND LOVES MCKINNEY AND CHANGES HIS SCHEDULE TO MAKE SURE THAT HE'S HERE SO WE WILL SEE HIM THIS YEAR. UM THE 23RD ANNUAL PARADE LAST YEAR WAS A STORY WAS UNIQUE . UM UNFORTUNATELY, THE WEATHER DID NOT AGREE WITH COOPERATE WITH US. WE HAD TO CANCEL IT. AT THE LAST MINUTE. I WILL BRAG ON , UM, THE IMPACT ON THE CITY OF MCKINNEY. WE HAVE FANTASTIC LEADERSHIP AND IN, UM IN OUR COMMUNITY WHERE THEY I CAN TELL YOU EIGHT HOURS AHEAD OF TIME. UM WHEN LIGHTNING IS GOING TO BE IN THE AREA AND BOY WERE THEY WRITE THE LIGHTNING STRIKES WERE COMING DOWN RIGHT AROUND 6 30 WHEN WE USUALLY START, SO WE'RE THANKFUL FOR THE SAFETY AND CONCERN THAT WE ALL HAVE FOR OUR PARTICIPANTS AS WELL AS THE PEOPLE WHO ATTEND, UM BECAUSE WE CHANGED FROM A SATURDAY TO A THURSDAY THAT THAT HAVE IMPACT ON THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT CAME INTO TOWN. IT WAS AROUND 13,000 WHO CAME TO VISIT BUT STILL WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST PARADES THAT WE'VE EVER HAD. WE ACTUALLY HAD 81 PEOPLE WHO HAD SIGNED UP. THAT WAS ABOUT CUTTING HALF ON THAT THURSDAY NIGHT, BUT IT STILL HAS AN IMPACT. THEN I'LL TELL YOU A STORY THAT HAPPENED TUESDAY MORNING TO ME. I WAS IN A CLIENT COLUMN. A BANKER, IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO IS IN A CLIENT CALL WITH THE COUPLE THAT THEY ACTUALLY LIVE IN FLOWER MOUND. THEY HAD ACTUALLY COME TO THE PARADE ON THAT THURSDAY NIGHT WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH DOWNTOWN MCKINNEY HAD NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE, HAVE COME BACK SEVERAL TIMES TO EXPERIENCE THE RESTAURANTS AND STORES THAT WE HAVE IN THIS DOWNTOWN AREA, SO THE PARADE NOT ONLY HAS AN IMPACT DURING DECEMBER AND HAS A PARADE IMPACT ALL YEAR LONG. SO WE THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR THAT SUPPORT. UM THIS YEAR WE HAVE NOT DECIDED ON WHAT OUR THEME IS GOING TO BE. UM I HAVE SOME CREATIVE ONES THAT THE ROTARY BOARD KEEPS SAYING NO, WE'RE NOT GOING TO DO. I WOULD LOVE TO DO THE GRISWOLD FAMILY CHRISTMAS, BUT YES. SEE, WE GOT A FAN IN THE BACK. ACTUALLY NO, WE TEND TO STAY MORE CHILD CENTRIC AND, UH MORE SAFE.ALTHOUGH GRISWOLD FAMILY CHRISTMAS WOULD BE GREAT, BUT ANYWAY, WE'LL SEE THAT MAYBE ONE YEAR, BUT WE'LL WE'LL CONTINUE ON THE SAME MARKETING APPROACH. WE DID CHANGE IT UP A LITTLE BIT LAST YEAR PUT A LITTLE BIT MORE MONEY INTO ONLINE ADVERTISING THROUGH IMPACT. AND, UM REALLY GOT A LOT MORE TRACTION. I THINK TO OUR WEBSITE. FROM FROM THAT EXPENSE AND THAT INVESTMENT UM BUT WE'RE EXPECTING, UM, THE SPIN RIGHT AROUND $7500 AGAIN THIS YEAR. AND THAT'S JUST AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT WE'VE ADVERTISED. THEN IN THE PAST AND WITH THAT WILL OPEN UP FOR QUESTIONS. I HAVE A FEW GOOD TO SEE YOU, HAROLD. I MIGHT HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE HAPPY ABOUT THE RESCHEDULING BECAUSE IT MEANT MY FAMILY COULD ATTEND, WHICH WAS OUR FIRST YEAR AND WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT. BUT I DO. I DO. JUST HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS. UM I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING THAT HAD A BREAKDOWN OF YOUR EXPENSES, SO I KNOW THAT THE WHAT YOU'RE ASKING FOR IS $7500 THAT COVERS YOUR SIGNAGE AND YOUR ADVERTISING. BUT WHAT OTHER EXPENSES ARE ASSOCIATED BEYOND PROMOTION? ACTUALLY, MOST OF IT IS VOLUNTEER. THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT . THIS IS THE ADVERTISING AND THE BIGGEST PART OF THE EXPENSE . WE DO HAVE SMALL THINGS LIKE
[01:15:02]
WE HAVE TO GET SAFETY EQUIPMENT TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE AREN'T RUN AROUND AND YEAH, WHERE THEY SHOULDN'T BE RUNNING AROUND. MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE SAFETY VEST AND ALL THAT THE CURRENT THE CLUB COVERS ALL THAT, UM, BUT MAJORITY OF ANYTHING ELSE IS COVERED THROUGH OUR OTHER SPONSORS THAT WE GO OUT AND RAISE BUT IT'S ABOUT 11 TO $12,000 A YEAR IN TOTAL TO PUT ON THE PUT ON THE PARADE, 11. THAT WOULD BE ADVERTISING. YEAH. AND MOST OF THAT, UM THE DIFFERENCE. THERE COMES FROM SPONSORSHIPS OR JUST THE CLUB SPONSORSHIP. WE HAVE THE CLUB.WE VIEW THIS AS OUR GIFT BACK TO THE COMMUNITY EACH YEAR, BUT WE'RE ALSO BLESSED THAT A NUMBER OF SPONSORS ALWAYS STEP UP. AND HELP COVER THAT COST, SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU. HAVE A QUESTION , BUT I SECOND YOUR IDEA FOR THE GRISWOLD FAMILY. THANK YOU. PASS THAT ALONG. YEAH GOOD FAMILY. I THINK IT WOULD BE FAMILY FRIENDLY. I'M JUST THE WORRY IS WHAT PEOPLE WILL DO IN THE FORM OF COUSIN EDDIE. BUT THAT WOULD BE MY THING THAT YOU HAVE TO BE COMING. NANNY. YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT FAMILY, SO THERE WE GO . IT'S FAMILY FRIENDLY. THERE YOU GO. THANK YOU. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR THE CONSIDERABLE FORGET THAT TOO. AND AT THIS TIME WE WILL PASS FOR DAVID KELLEY TO RETURN. DEBORAH COMMISSION. TELL HIM WE KNOW THAT HIM FOR COUSIN EDDIE, NATCH, WE'RE READY AT THE RED LIGHTS. WELL. HAROLD WROTE ME INTO BEING ON THE PARADE COMMITTEE THIS YEAR, SO I GUESS I'M GONNA HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. ALL RIGHT UP. NEXT IS 23-0490.
[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by Odysseus Chamber Orchestra (dba McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra) (PC 23-19) in the Amount of $15,000.00 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2023-24 Concert Season Including Ten Performances.]
THE EVENT GRANT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BY THE DICIEST CHAMBER ORCHESTRA IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,000 FOR THEIR 2023 2024 CONCERT SEASON. AND THEY ARE DOING BUSINESS AS THE BURKINI PHILHARMONIC NOW. YES WE ARE. WE'VE BEEN MCKINNEY FILAMENT SINCE 2019. THANK YOU ALL FOR HAVING ME TODAY. MY NAME IS JASON LIM. AND I'M, THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF THE MCKINNEY FEEL HOW MANY ORCHESTRA IS THIS WORKING? THIS WAY THERE. UH UM. THIS ORCHESTRA HAS REALLY GONE A LOT OF EXCITEMENT SINCE FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, IS BECOMING QUIET AND LEADING ORCHESTRA. I GET A LOT OF EMAILS FROM PATRONS SAYING WE'VE JUST BEEN TO A CONCERT SOMEWHERE ELSE, AND YOU GUYS GOT TO BE PROUD OF THIS ORCHESTRA BECAUSE IT'S WAY BETTER. UM SO THE IMPACT IS IT'S YOU KNOW, IT'S GIVING MCKINNEY KIND OF FACE OF LEADING IN THE ARTS. WE'RE HUB NOW, SO A LOT OF PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS WANT TO PLAY IN THIS ORCHESTRA. WE HAVE AUDITIONS AND WE HAVE OVER 100 APPLICANTS EVERY SINGLE YEAR. AND OUR AUDITION PROCESS IS VERY COMPETITIVE IN BECOMING A VERY QUITE DIFFICULT TO GET IN. I GOT AN EMAIL FROM A RESIDENT THAT RECENTLY MOVED TO MCKINNEY AND SAY WE'RE MOVING FROM CALIFORNIA . WE'RE GONNA DOING SOME MONEY.BUT THE REASON WHY WE MOVED THIS BECAUSE YOU'RE HERE. SO THAT'S THE IMPACT THAT I THINK YOU GUYS HAVE. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE HAVE WE'RE EXPANDING NEXT SEASON. THIS SEASON. WE HAVE SIX FULL CONCERTS. WE'RE GONNA HAVE EIGHT FULL CONCERTS NEXT THIS COMING SEASON. BROKE IT DOWN TO THREE COMMUNITY CONCERTS TO POPS THREE CLASSICAL CONCERTS. AND WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERTS. WE HAD ONLY ONE LAST SEASON. OH, UM. WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO SEE IS A CLOSELY GUARDED SECRET. UM WE'RE ANNOUNCING OUR SEASON AT THE END OF THE MONTH. SO YOU GUYS HAVE MEMBERS. THIS IS THE FIRST YOU'LL BE THE FIRST TO SEE OUR SEASON SO HERE IT IS. SO THE FIRST CONCERT IS UM, REALLY IS JUST TO SAY FAREWELL TO SUMMER. THE HEAT. SO WE HAVE A PIECE CALLED SUMMER EVENING BY KODI. HIS HUNGARIAN COMPOSER. SO ANOTHER PIECE THAT WE'RE PLAYING IS APPEASED BY MIGUEL AGUILAR, WHO IS LIVING COMPOSER. AND THIS PIECE IS ABOUT IMMIGRATION. AND WE'RE GONNA CLOSE THIS EVENING WITH BEETHOVEN SYMPHONY NUMBER FOUR. OUR NEXT CONCERT IS COLLABORATION WITH DALLAS FILAMENT QUOTE. AND WE'RE DOING MOZART'S REQUIEM. YOU'VE SEEN THAT MOVIE AMADEUS. HE'S IN HIS DEATHBED, AND HE'S DICTATING THAT PEACE AND CELERY IS TRYING TO DICTATE THAT PIECE. THAT'S THE PIECE VERY LAST PIECE THAT MOSES WROTE ACTUALLY WASN'T
[01:20:02]
COMPLETE. WE DID THIS CONSTANT LAST YEAR, AND IT WAS HUGELY SUCCESSFUL BECAUSE WE HAD DOZENS OF YOUNG KIDS CAME TO THE CONCERT. UM, THIS IS GOING TO BE A MUSIC FROM DISNEY AND VIDEO GAMES. MANDALORIAN UH, SUPER MARIO BROTHERS, LEGEND OF ZELDA AND ALL THESE DISNEY PIECES.CHRISTMAS CONCERT IS A TRADITION . THIS IS OUR SIXTH ANNUAL CONCERT MAINLY HAS BEEN FREQUENT . GUESTS ARTISTS AND WE HAVE TWO VERY VERY, UM TALENTED JAZZ VOCALIST AND. NERVE WHO IS A VERY TALENTED SEX OPPONENTS. HE'S ACTUALLY LIVES IN MCKINNEY. THIS WILL BE IN CONJUNCTION WITH BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A TRIBUTE TO ELEPHANTS, GERALD. NOW. THIS IS VERY UNIQUE BECAUSE THIS IS A WAY OF KIND OF REACHING OUT TO OUR GROWING POPULATION OF INDIAN FRIENDS. AND THIS IS GOING TO BE A FUSION OF NORTH INDIAN AND SOUTH INDIAN MUSIC. IT'S TWO VERY DIFFERENT STYLES. NORTH IS HINDUSTANI AND SOUTHEAST CORNER APARTMENT CAN ARCTIC SO WE HAVE A FEW LOCAL INDIAN ARTIST. TABLA SITAR. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A KINETIC VIOLINIST PERFORM AS WELL. THE NEXT ONE. I THINK MARY IS GOING TO BE VERY HAPPY WITH IS LAST YEAR. SO YOU GOT TO DO THIS EVERY YEAR, SO WE'RE BRINGING THIS BACK. WITH SOME OF THE ONES THAT WE DIDN'T DO BEFORE JAWS. JURASSIC PARK. HOOK, THE PATRIOT. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN.
ANGELA'S ASHES, AND, OF COURSE, WE'LL BRING BACK THE CLASSICS, E T STAR WARS AND INDIANA JONES.
FINALLY THIS IS OUTSIDE BY SIGHT CONCERT. I WISH THIS WOULD HAVE DONE THIS DURING THE ECLIPSE.
THIS IS HOLDS THE PLANETS AND THIS WILL BE A SIDE BY SIDE CONCERT WITH OUR YOUTH ORCHESTRA. ORCHESTRA IS GROWING . BY THE WAY IT'S GOING TO HAVE ABOUT 150 KIDS SO ON STAGE WILL HAVE 100 MUSICIANS. AND FINALLY WE HAVE THESE TWO CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERTS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER. 20/4. IN FEBRUARY, 10TH. HERE'S THE BREAKDOWN OF GRANT FUNDING. WE'RE ASKING FOR $15,000. UM WE HAVE RANGES BECAUSE, FOR EXAMPLE, CHIARI THEY HAVE DIFFERENT LEVELS SO WE WILL MONITOR HOW WE'RE DOING AND THEN, DEPENDING ON CERTAIN CONCERTS WILL PICK CERTAIN LEVELS. THIS IS OUR LAST YEAR'S PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS. THIS IS THE MPO. MATERIALS. SO YOU THOUGHT ORCHESTRA WITHOUT CHAMBER MUSIC. THIS IS OUR FREE RECITAL PROGRAMS. AND WE ALSO HAVE CDC LOGOS IN OUR AUDITION MATERIALS AS WELL. SO I OPENED THIS FOUR QUESTIONS. QUESTIONS JUST A COMMENT RIGHT OFF THE RIGHT OFF THE BAT. WHAT A WONDERFUL, UM, DIVERSE GROUP OF PROGRAMMING THAT YOU HAVE. YOU LITERALLY HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. SO I WANTED TO COMMEND YOU ON THAT. THANK YOU. MHM CURIOSITY QUESTION. DO YOU HAVE A LIMIT ON THE SIZE THE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ITSELF CAN BE OR IT WILL BE AS LARGE AS IF YOU COULD GET 400. YOU'D GO TO 400. IT'S AS LARGE AS OUR BUDGET ALLOWS US. SO RIGHT NOW WE TRY TO KEEP IT WITHIN 50 TO 55. I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD THE STRING SECTION BECAUSE THE STREAM SECTION REALLY IS THE CATALYST OF THE ORCHESTRA. SO RIGHT NOW WE HAVE ABOUT 35 STRING PLAYERS. I WOULD LIKE TO EXPAND THAT TO 50. WHERE ARE YOU PERFORMING NOW? MCKINNEY BOYD. OKAY BUT THEY DO CHANGE IT AROUND BECAUSE SOMETIMES I'LL GET A NOTIFICATION SAYING, HEY, WE'RE NOT AVAILABLE, SO WE GOT TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE. SO DID YOU OUTGROW THE CHURCH STREET AUDITORIUM OR WHY DID YOU LEAVE THERE? WE'VE OUTGROWN THAT ORCHESTRAS GROWN, UM, IMPACT TO WE'VE ALSO OUTGROWN THAT STAGE. AND FOR ANYBODY THAT HASN'T ATTENDED. IT IS JUST REALLY TOP NOTCH. UM AND THE SETTING AND NOT TO HAVE TO DRIVE INTO DOWNTOWN DALLAS TO SEE THIS LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE AND MUSIC. IT WILL JUST BLOW YOU AWAY, SO I AM GETTING MY SEASON TICKETS AS SOON AS IT OPENS. THANK YOU. SO HOW MANY PEOPLE NORMALLY ATTEND EACH YEAR? AND HOW MANY DO YOU ANTICIPATE BETWEEN 207 100? UH WHEN WE DID THE JOHN WILLIAMS, I THINK WE HAD 780 PEOPLE COME AND WE EXPECT THAT TO BE BIGGER THIS NEXT TUESDAY SEASON. SO CAN THE FACILITY TO ACCOMMODATE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAS, I THINK, 1000. TIME FOR MAKING THE BILL
[01:25:09]
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. YEAH JUST TWO QUESTIONS. WHAT IS THE DATE OF THE HALLOWEEN SHOW? OCTOBER 20/8 28, OKAY, AND THEN , UM MY KIDS HAVE GONE TO A FEW EVENTS AT THE PLANO SYMPHONY HAS DONE LIKE OUTREACH EVENTS, AND THEY'VE HAD DIFFERENT THEMED EVENTS FOR THE CHILDREN. I DON'T THINK I'VE SEEN ANYTHING THAT YOU ALL HAVE DONE. AM I MISSING THAT OR IS THAT IS OUTREACH? NOT QUITE A PART OF YOUR PROGRAMMING JUST YET, BUT WE DO SCHOOL CONCERTS AND THAT'S QUITE SEPARATED OUR EDUCATION. UH PROGRAM WE ACTUALLY APPLY FOR STUDENT GRANTS FROM TCF TO DO THAT, AND WE BRING A WIND BRASS QUINTET. IN A STRING QUARTER AND WE VISIT THE SCHOOL. SO WE DO A WEEK LONG TOUR. OKAY, THANK YOU. IT'S GOING TO SAY THE SAME THING AS CATHERINE THIS AND SEND IT TO THIS. SERIES IS WONDERFUL THIS YEAR. I MEAN, AND THIS IS NOT MY USUALLY WHAT I DO. I MEAN, I MAY GO TO A CONCERT, BUT IT'S USUALLY NOT THIS TYPE OF CONCERT AND THE FACT THAT THAT YOU'VE GOTTEN ME EXCITED ABOUT THIS, AND I DO WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THE JOHN WILLIAMS BECAUSE AND IT'S ON MAY THE FOURTH THAT'S JUST PERFECT, BUT IT'S REALLY GREAT, AND I'M EXCITED TO ABOUT GETTING TICKETS AND COME TO SEE IT. AND I'M ESPECIALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE JOHN WILLIAMS AGAIN.SO THANK YOU. PLEASE COME TO L. A 12 BECAUSE TATIANA IS, I THINK THE LEADING JAZZ VOCALIST IN IN IN DALLAS. SHE'S ACTUALLY MOVING AWAY TO DENVER, BUT I'M BRINGING HER BACK. JUST PERFORM COLUMN.
THIS CONCERT. THANK YOU, JASON. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. OKAY NEXT UP IS 23-0491. THE EVENT GRANT
[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by McKinney Chamber of Commerce (PC 23-20) in the Amount of $9,000.00 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2023 Día De Los Muertos Celebration.]
APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BY THE MCKINNEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR THE LOSS MARTO CELEBRATION FOUNDATION OF THE CHAMBER FOUNDATION. OKAY UM, AND I THINK WE HAVE THERESA STRANGE JOHNSTON AND WENDY KITTEN. GOOD MORNING. GOOD MORNING. GOOD MORNING. WELL THE FIRST THING WE WANT TO DO IS SHOW YOU THE VIDEO TO GET YOU EXCITED AND PUMPED UP RIGHT AWAY. HOW DO WE GET THAT GOING? LINDA'S IN CHARGE. OKAY. LINDA. OH, NO. CAN YOU PULL UP OUR WEBSITE? OKAY. IT'S ON THE WEBSITE. OKAY SORRY ABOUT THAT. UM, BUT. HAVE YOU ATTENDED THE MCKINNEY DAREDEVILS MARTOS. UM I HAVE TO SAY AS HISPANIC IN THE MCKINNEY COMMUNITY, THANK YOU ALL FOR ALLOWING US TO GET THIS DONE. WE HAVE HAD MANY HISPANIC PEOPLE FROM THE EAST SIDE THAT WOULD COME TO THE PARK AND HUG US. AND SAY HOW HAPPY THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME. THAT THEY FELT LIKE THEY WERE THAT MCKINNEY HAS RECOGNIZED THEM. AS PART OF THE COMMUNITY, AND I LOVE THAT, UM, SO WE HAVE SUPPORT FOR MANY, MANY MERCHANTS ON THE SQUARE. WE HAVE POSTERS IN THEIR WINDOWS. THEY HAVE SPECIALS FOR THE DAY. UM THIS YEAR, SOME OF THEM DID A FRIEND US. ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH A FRIEND AS THEY ARE ALTERS THAT THAT PICTURES OF YOUR LOVED ONES AND SOME OF THE FOOD THEY LIKED.SOME OF THE MERCHANTS ARE DOING IT, BUT WE ACTUALLY HAVE A COMMITTEE MEMBER THAT'S GONNA TRY AND GET MORE MERCHANTS TO BE INVOLVED IN THAT. PART. WE HAVE SO MANY SPONSORS FOR OUR EVENT, AND, UM IT'S NOT A CHALLENGE, BUT IT'S A LOT OF WORK TO GET THE SPONSORS ON BOARD. SO WE'RE WORKING ON THAT NAIL. OUR OVERALL EVENT BUDGET. IS $9000 FOR PROMOTION. I'M NOT GOING TO GO OVER EVERY ONE OF THEM, BUT I WANTED YOU TO SEE UM THAT WE'RE ONLY ASKING FOR $9000 AND SPONSORSHIP, BUT WE NEED SO MUCH MORE TO HAVE THIS EVENT. THE MARKETING AND PROMOTION. THE GOAL IS TO ATTRACT ATTENDEES FROM OUT OF DFW ATTRACTS THEM IN 1005 100 ATTENDEES FROM IN AND OUT OF THE DFW AREA EACH YEAR WE HAVE DOUBLED. OUR ATTENDANCE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO NEXT YEAR. BECAUSE THE PARK IS GOING TO BE TOO SMALL. UM PROMOTIONAL VIDEO WAS DONE BY ELIZABETH ALLEN STUDIOS, THE COMMUNITY IMPACT AND EL DIA. HAS BEEN INVOLVED. THAT'S WHAT WE WERE INVOLVED. K LACK. WE'RE GONNA HAVE AN EMAIL CAMPAIGN THIS YEAR. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE
[01:30:01]
HEAVIER SOCIAL MEDIA ADS. THE YARD SIGNS. WE NEED A WHOLE LOT MORE OF THOSE BECAUSE EVERYBODY ON THE EAST SIDE WANTED SIGNS IN THEIR YARD. IN FACT, THEY KEPT STEALING THEM FROM EACH OTHER.IT WAS KIND OF FUNNY. IT WAS ALMOST A GAME AT ONE POINT, SO WE NEED TO MAKE MORE YARD SIGNS FOR EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY. SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS I HAVE BEEN GOING OUT AND SPEAKING TO ANY AND EVERYONE THAT WANTS TO HEAR ME ABOUT MCKINNEY DIODE ELSEWHERE THOSE FIRST YEARS A LITTLE CHALLENGING, GETTING PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT IT'S NOT, YOU KNOW, RELIGIOUS. IT'S NOT VOODOO. IT'S NOT, YOU KNOW ANYTHING OF DARK NATURE, BUT THAT IT'S A CELEBRATION AND WE HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT TURNED AROUND AND LOVE IT. IT'S VERY COLORFUL. AND FUN, FUN EVENT AND THEN WE'LL NEED SIGNAGE FOR THE EVENT AS WELL. SO I MEAN, I CAN GO ON AND ON AND ON AND ON ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL IT IS. IT'S COLORFUL. IT'S ENTERTAINING. WE HAVE DANCERS WE HAVE. I LOVE SEEING WALKING IN MCKINNEY LIKE I LIVE IN TENNESSEE WHEN I WALKED HOME FOR A LITTLE BIT FOR SOMETHING TO COME BACK ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE IN COSTUME, THEY COME IN COSTUME TO THE EVENT AND SEE THEM WALKING AND GOING TO THE, UH, THE MERCHANTS AS WELL. THEY LOVE US. WE HAVE PEOPLE COME FROM ALL OVER TEXAS ACTUALLY TO COMPETE IN THE COSTUME CONTEST. SO THAT'S BEEN REALLY FUN TO SEE. YEAH. ANY QUESTIONS? ARE YOU ALL STILL HAVING THE SAME TIME AS LAST YEAR, OCTOBER 14TH THE SAME DATE AGAIN AS COINCIDE WITH THE WINE ? YES BUT IT NEVER HAS BEEN A PROBLEM. YOU KNOW, IT'S LIKE TWO SEPARATE THINGS. PEOPLE FROM THE WHITE THING WHEN THEY GO THERE, THEN THEY COME TO SEE US, BUT IT'S NEVER. IT WASN'T A PROBLEM IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. THAT'S TYPICALLY WHAT I'M SORRY. I'VE HEARD PEOPLE SAY THAT IT IS A CONFLICT WITH IT, AND WE WERE ALWAYS WONDERING IF WE COULD EVER WORK IT OUT. TO WHERE ONE OR THE OTHER KID COULD SWITCH THAT WAY. WE CAN GET MORE PEOPLE IN THE KENNEDY TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND ABOUT THAT ONE. SOME QUESTIONS THE SAME THING. OKAY? THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU. ALRIGHT UM

IT IS A PRIVILEGE TO BE A CONSIDERATION OF THIS CHARMING DISTRICT AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUE ENTERTAINING OUR GUESTS THROUGH CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS AND COMMUNITY PLACE MAKING OCCASIONS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. QUESTIONS FOR JACK. OCTOBER FEST EXPERIENCE THAT PEOPLE WILL GROW TO LOVE. WELL IN AND TO YOUR BOARD AND STAFF. YOU GUYS JUST WORK HARD ALL YEAR ROUND AND THE IDEAS, THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT AND FORGING AHEAD TO REALLY TRACK ATTENDANCE AND FIGURING OUT WAYS TO INCREASE THE SOCIAL MEDIA.IA YOU'RE ALWAS ON TOP OF THAT. SO YOU USE YOUR DOLLARS WISELY AND YOU WORK REALLY HARD. ANDREW APPRECIATE THAT HE HAS AN ENTREPRENEUR SPIRIT, SO HE'S A GREAT LEADER.I HAVE ONE QUESTION. I GO BACK TO THE DAYS OF THE $20 BILLS COMING IN, LIKE LIKE I COULDN'T BELIEVE THERE WERE THAT MANY $20 BILLS AND IN THE AREA, BUT HOW IS THE NEW CREDIT CARD OPTION WORKING? AH AS I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU GIVE OUT THE UM, DEVICE NECESSARY FOR PAYING FOR BEER AND SO FORTH POS SYSTEM THAT WE GIVE TO ALL OF OUR VENDORS, AND IT'S SO FAR IT'S WORKED OUT.
REALLY? WELL UM, OBVIOUSLY OUR PATRONS ENJOY MORE THAN HAVING TO USE TICKETS. IT SHORTENS UP THE LINES WHEN WE WEIGHED TICKETS TO WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT. THE ONLY TIME WE WAIT TICKETS RECENTLY WAS WHERE OUR WINE SALES FOR ARTS AND BLOOM BUT AS FAR AS OCTOBERFEST IT'S MADE. GOSH EXPONENTIALLY EASIER FOR I KNOW. THIS YEAR WE'VE LOOKED AT DIFFERENT WAYS TO HELP ACCOMMODATE THE HEAT. SOME OF THE TENTS WERE FACING, UM, SO WE'RE JUST LOOKING AT WAYS TO MAKE IT EASIER AND THERE WAS A TRIAL AND ERROR, OBVIOUSLY FOR LAST YEAR, BUT FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND PARTICIPATION IN REGARDS TO THE POS SALES, IT WAS SUCCESSFUL AND JUST DEALING WITH THE NORMAL GLITCHES YOU HAVE WITH RUNNING A FESTIVAL AND TECHNOLOGY SO BUT. OKAY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ALL RIGHT. NEXT UP IS OUR SECOND NEW FRIEND 23-0493. THE COMMUNITY EVENT
[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by Texas Cellos (PC 23-22) in the Amount of $15,000.00 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of 2023-2024 Performances Associated with Three Summer Intensive Programs.]
GRANT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED BY TEXAS CELLO IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,000 FOR THEIR 2023 2024 PERFORMANCES ASSOCIATED WITH THREE SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAMS , AND WE HAVE JOSEPH KIPPERS.GOOD MORNING. WELCOME THANKS FOR MAKING TIME TO SEE ME. UM I THOUGHT I WOULD START BY TELLING JUST A LITTLE BIT AND I DIDN'T PREPARE A SLIDESHOW LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, BUT A LITTLE BIT OF BACK STORY OF HOW TEXAS CELLO STARTED. AND WHY WE ARE IN MCKINNEY. UM, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DURING THE PANDEMIC. I AM A CELLIST, AND I TEACH QUITE A LOT. AND A LOT OF MY STUDENTS ARE TEENAGE HIGH SCHOOLERS. AND DURING A LESSON I WAS JUST TRYING TO CONNECT WITH ONE OF THEM. AND YOU KNOW, THERE WAS JUST SORT OF THIS GENERAL KIND OF DULL LOOK IN THEIR EYE IN HIS EYES. AND I ASKED YOU HOW SCHOOL FINE. HOW'S UH, HOW'S THIS? THAT'S FINE. HOW'S THAT IS FINE . NO REACTION. NO NO EMOTIONAL SPARK, RIGHT? SO I SAID, SO. HOW'S ORCHESTRAS AND WELL, IT'S FINE. WHAT DO YOU DO? WELL, MY SIGN ONTO A ZOOM CALL. AND OKAY AND THEN WHAT? WELL, WE'LL PLAY ALONG. HOW WELL, MY COMPUTER SPEAKERS. NEXT CHALLENGE PRETTY LOUD COMPUTERS BECAUSE THIS WAS GOING TO BE IMPOSSIBLE, SO I KNOW THAT MUCH OF WHAT WE DO AS A MUSICIAN. IT REQUIRES KIND OF LIKE EATING YOUR VEGETABLES. RIGHT IT'S YOU HAVE TO BE DISCIPLINED. YOU HAVE TO WORK REALLY HARD. AND THEN THE ACTUAL MAKING OF MUSIC IS THE FUN PART. IT'S KIND OF LIKE AN ATHLETE WORKING OUT. SO I DECIDED TO START A CELLO CHOIR, WHICH IS A CHOIR OF EXCLUSIVELY CELLISTS.
WE STARTED WITH TUITION $300 PER STUDENT, SO NOT VERY MUCH. I THINK WE BROUGHT IN ABOUT 20,500 THAT FIRST YEAR. WE PUT TOGETHER A SEASON I HAD A HUGE ENROLLMENT. UM AND THEN, FROM THERE, WE NEEDED A PLACE TO PERFORM, AND I HAD GOTTEN TO KNOW THE COTTON MILL AND TERRY KASEY AND I LOVE THE PLACE. UM AND HE HAD A LARGE ENOUGH SPACE THAT WE COULD PERFORM LIKE SOCIALLY DISTANCE. SO WE LAUNCHED A MUSIC FESTIVAL WE DID FOR CONCERTS. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN APRIL OF 21 AND WE SOLD OUT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS UNBELIEVABLE. WE HAD VENDORS WAS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT THAT. THAT'S MUSIC AT MILLER FESTIVAL. THEN AS THE PANDEMIC ENDED, WE DECIDED TO START A SUMMER PROGRAM LIKE A SUMMER INSTITUTE. WE CALL IT TEXAS CELLO SCHOOL.
[01:40:02]
WE DID THAT SUMMER OF 21 AND 22 . WE HAD SEVEN FACULTY ALL FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, REALLY, REALLY INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS. UM 25 HIGHLY SPECIALIZED STUDENTS, AND THEN WE DID FOR EACH INSTITUTE. WE DID TWO MORE CONCERTS AGAIN. WE SOLD BOTH OF THOSE OUT. THAT WAS AT THE MCKINNEY FLOUR MILL. UM AS THINGS CONTINUE TO EXPAND THIS SUMMER, WE'RE OPENING IT UP TO THREE SUMMER INTENSIVE, UM, THERE WILL BE A CELLO INTENSIVE THAN A CHAMBER MUSIC INTENSIVE AND THEN WE'LL DO IT ALL STATE INTENSIVE, WHICH WILL BRING KIND OF LIKE THE SPECIALIZED MUSIC STUDENTS FROM ACROSS TEXAS, ULTIMA KINNEY. UM WHY MCKINNEY UM, I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT CLASSICAL MUSIC CAN COME ACROSS AS REALLY SNOOTY. AND IT CAN BE MYSELF AS A PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN DON'T ALWAYS LIKE TO GO TO CLASSICAL CONCERTS BECAUSE I GOT TO SIT THERE ALL POLITE. NO REALLY. AND SO I WANT TO HEAR THIS MUSIC THAT I REALLY LOVE BUT IN A VENUE WHERE I CAN KIND OF RELAX SO WE'VE BEEN DOING CONCERTS IN INDUSTRIAL MODERN SPACES. WE HAVE KIND OF THE CASUAL VIBE IN THE ROOM AND AGAINST THAT WE HAVE A VERY HIGH LEVEL MUSIC. UM ALSO, MCKINNEY IS WITHIN 30 40 MINUTES OF MOST OF THE BIG PARTS OF DFW. AND YET IT FEELS LIKE YOU REALLY GET AWAY FROM KIND OF THE METROPOLITAN CITY WHERE IF YOU WANT TO GO SEE DALLAS SYMPHONY OR THE OTHER GREAT ARTISTS, THAT'S KIND OF WHERE YOU HAVE TO GO AND ENDURE THE TRAFFIC IN THE PARKING SO I FIND THAT TO BE REALLY WONDERFUL. UM. I THINK THAT PRETTY MUCH COVERS THE BACKGROUND IN TERMS OF HOW WE'VE GROWN. UM ARE WE DONE 16 CONCERTS SO FAR FOR 4800? PAYING TICKETED CUSTOMERS. UM I RAN A MARKETING COMPANY IN MY LATE TWENTIES ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. AND SO MARKETING EVOLVES VERY, VERY QUICKLY, IN MY EXPERIENCE, SO WHAT MIGHT HAVE WORKED DURING THE PANDEMIC ON INSTAGRAM AND GOOGLE IS THE ALGORITHMS ARE GOING TO SHIFT PEOPLE'S.EVERYTHING IS CONSTANTLY ROLLING. I WILL SAY SO OUR BUDGET STARTED THE FIRST YEAR 10,000 LAST YEAR WAS 80,000. UM SO WITHIN THREE YEARS, THAT'S HOW WE'VE GROWN THE LEVEL OF OUR ARTISTS AGAIN. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH. THESE ARE ALL LIKE MAJOR MAJOR LABEL ARTISTS THAT COME IN FROM OTHER PLACES. UM AND WE DO BELIEVE IN SPENDING MONEY ON ADVERTISING. SO I WOULD SAY FOR THOSE 16 CONCERTS, I WOULD HAVE TO PULL UP THE NUMBERS BECAUSE I DID PAY MUCH OF THAT OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. WE PROBABLY SPENT $25,000 ON ADVERTISING. JUST TO FILL THOSE SEATS. UM YEAH. THAT'S TEXAS CELLO, SO THAT'S WHAT WE'RE HOPING TO DO. I WOULD LOVE YOUR SUPPORT. WE LOVE MCKINNEY. QUESTIONS ANYBODY YEAH, I HAVE A FEW, UM FIRST OF ALL, WHERE IS THE EVENT THIS YEAR, SO THE CONSCIENCE WILL BE AT THE MCKINNEY FLOUR MILL, AND THE INSTITUTE ITSELF HAPPENS AT THE MCKINNEY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. OKAY SO YOU STARTED THE COTTON MILL NOW YOU'RE AT THE FLOUR MILL. CORRECT OKAY. UM SO WHAT IS THE TICKET PRICE OR PRICES? USUALLY 30 OR 35? OKAY? UM. SO I ATTENDED LAST YEAR GREAT WHICH ONE? I'M NOT SURE IT WAS THE IT WAS THE CONCERT AT THE FLOUR MILL. WAS THERE MORE THAN ONE MORE TIME? YES IN AUGUST WARM, RIGHT? YEAH AND THAT'S MY POINT . UM I BELIEVE IF I REMEMBER TALKING WITH JAMES BRESNAHAN, UM , BECAUSE IT WAS HOT IN THE FLOUR MILL IN AUGUST AND THEIR AIR CONDITIONING WAS NOT ON AND I BELIEVE THAT THAT WAS AT YOUR REQUEST. DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THAT CONCERT. WE WANTED TO SOUND TO BE HEARD. AND THEN, AFTER THE INTERMISSION, WE TURNED IT ON. OKAY AND THAT WAS A PARTICULARLY WARM NIGHT. SO IT WAS WORSE FOR US ON STAGE THEN YOU IN THE AUDIENCE. I WILL SAY I DIDN'T GET TO, UM I DIDN'T KNOW THAT BECAUSE WE LEFT AT INTERMISSION BECAUSE IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THERE'S SOMETHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THAT. I WOULD SAY AUGUST IN A, UM, VINTAGE. UM OLD SPACE IS MAYBE NOT THE BEST TIME TO TURN OFF THE AIR CONDITIONERS.
TRUE I AGREE. WE WILL PROBABLY LEAVE IT ON THIS YEAR. AWESOME QUESTIONS, AND I'M HAVING TROUBLE PULLING UP YOUR ORGANIZATIONAL BUDGET. SO WHAT ARE YOUR WHAT ARE YOUR MAJOR OPERATING EXPENSES? MUSICIANS? UM VENUES. WE RECORD EVERYTHING. AND ADVERTISING. SO PERSONNEL PRIMARILY. MUSICIANS ARE EXPENSIVE. YOU PAY THEIR FLIGHT, BRING SOMEONE IN FROM NEW YORK.
AND MAKE IT WORTH THEIR TIME. YEAH. WHERE DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR CONCERTS? AND BE HONEST WITH YOU ? I'M NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS WITH YOUR CONCERT SERIES ORGANIZATION AT ALL TO ME.
[01:45:01]
THERE'S PROBABLY A WAY TO SCROLL THROUGH THOUGHT I PAID A LOT OF ATTENTION TO WHAT WAS GOING ON.BUT UM, I WE DO A LOT OF ONLINE MARKETING AND THEN ON THE RADIO . WE'VE BEEN ON NBC FIVE WE'VE BEEN ON ABC. SOME OF THAT HAPPENS THROUGH ORGANIC, YOU KNOW, BY WORKING IN MARKETING THERE IS REALLY HARD TO SAY. WHAT IS ORGANIC FROM GOOD STU AND A GOOD WEBSITE AND YOU TALK TO PEOPLE VERSUS IT'S PAID, RIGHT? I CAN TELL YOU WE INVEST A LOT. UM, PRINT MARKETING. I WOULD LIKE TO DO A LITTLE MORE OF SO, DEPENDING ON WHICH DEMOGRAPHIC WE GET TO YEAH, I THINK A LOT OF THE ELECTRONIC STUFF GOES TO A YOUNGER GENERATION A LITTLE BIT MORE. SO I THINK WE WOULD LIKE TO OPEN THAT UP MORE, BUT PRINT IS EXPENSIVE. THIS IS JUST A QUICK EXAMPLE OF THAT WAS OUR FIRST FESTIVAL. THOSE ARE THE CELLISTS. THIS IS OUR LOGO.
TEACHERS. JUST TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE FEEL. SOME OF WHAT WE'RE DOING. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS. DO VERY SIMILAR TO IF I MISSED THIS IN THE IN THE PACKET. DO WE HAVE A BREAKDOWN, THOUGH OF YOUR PLANNED, UM, MARKETING BUDGET. THERE WERE WHERE IT BECAUSE I SEE ADVERTISING A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT I DON'T KNOW YOU'RE KIND OF SAYING WELL, TRY THIS AND TRY THIS, BUT YOU KIND OF HAVE IT MORE OUTLINED WHERE? CERTAIN AMOUNT OF THE 15,000 WILL GO TO CERTAIN THINGS. AT THE MOMENT I DO NOT HAVE IN WRITING A COMPLETE BREAKDOWN OF THAT. IF YOU WANTED TO SEE IT, I COULD JUST PULL UP BANK STATEMENTS OF WHAT WE HAVE DONE. UM AND I ASSURE YOU IT'S BEEN IT WILL BE SPENT. I JUST I JUST WAS CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT? WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO TRY TO DO, MAYBE EVEN BASED ON WHAT YOU DID IN THE PAST. THAT'S WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR IN THE PACKET, AND I DIDN'T SEE IT AND I, ESSENTIALLY FOR EACH CONCERT. WE WOULD LIKE THAT CONCERT TO BE SOLD OUT. WE WILL MARKET AND I BASICALLY THINK MARKETING IS LIKE TURNING ON A WATER FAUCET AND YOU JUST KEEP TURNING IT ON, AND HOPEFULLY YOU MAKE MORE THAN YOU SPEND. AND WE JUST WE JUST GOTTA TURN IT ON.
DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? JOSEPH THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PRESENTING . I'M NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION, EITHER. UM SO CAN YOU CLARIFY AS THE SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDENTS, YOUNG PEOPLE STUDENTS, BUT THE CONCERTS ARE PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS OR OUR STUDENTS PERFORMING AS WELL. THEY ARE, SO IT'S BOTH. IT'S BOTH. OKAY SO THERE ARE FACULTY CONCERTS AND THEN WE PERFORM SIDE BY SIDE AND, UM THESE ARE VERY HIGH LEVEL STUDENTS AND ALSO THE ENERGY CREATED WHEN YOU HAVE A STUDENT PERFORMED WITH A PROFESSIONAL AND YOU GET THAT STUDENT TO BRING THEIR PARENTS AND EVERYBODY FROM AROUND TOWN THAT HELPS SELL MORE TICKETS. UM AND THEN THE END OF THE LEVEL IS HIGHER, BASED ON THE PROFESSIONAL PLAYING THERE.
RIGHT BUT A PROFESSIONAL SOMETIMES GETS A LITTLE BORED CAN JUST PHONE IT IN. BUT WHEN YOU'RE PLAYING WITH SOME HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHERE THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST CONSTANT THEIR LIFE, THERE'S REALLY A SPARK IN THE AIR. AND THE AUDIENCE ALSO LIKES THAT A LOT.
SURE. YEAH, SO THERE'S THREE SUMMER. INTENSIVE PROGRAMS. AND THEN HOW MANY CONCERTS TOTAL THERE WILL BE THREE CONCERTS PER INTENSIVE OPENING CONCERT AND THEN TWO ON THE FINAL DAY. OKAY SO THREE CONCERTS, EACH ONE IS ASSOCIATED WITH AN INSTITUTE. AND WE DID A CHRISTMAS CONCERT WILL BE DOING THAT AGAIN. WE SOLD THAT OUT VERY, VERY EASILY AND NORDIC CHRISTMAS CONCERT. WE DID A SELECTION OF CAROLS WITH REAL SIMPLE, JUST CANDLES, EVERGREENS, AND WE HAD HOT MOLD WINE AND WE HAD WE HAD HALF THE AUDIENCE SING ALONG FOR THE LAST 20 MINUTES, SO IT WAS REALLY SPECIAL. UM EVERYTHING FROM THAT TO JUST STRAIGHT UP CHAMBER MUSIC, OR WE DID A WESTERN SWING CONCERT OR A TANGO CONCERT. UM WE HAD SCOTLAND TONY TIXIER TO, UM UM, FRENCH. AH! JAZZ MUSICIANS COME IN. UM. YEAH, IT'S A VERY BROAD RANGE, BUT WE PRESENT IT IN A VERY ACCESSIBLE USUALLY WITH THE AUDIENCE SITTING AROUND UM, THE ARTIST, WHICH IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT.
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS. I'LL JUST SAY, UM, WE DO NEED TO SEE WOULD LIKE TO SEE IN GENERAL SPECIFIC PLAN FOR HOW YOU'RE GOING TO SPEND OUR MONEY . ALL OF THIS IS REIMBURSABLE.
SO YOU ONLY GET PAID IF YOU ACTUALLY SPEND IT, SO WE'RE NOT CONCERNED THAT YOU'RE GOING TO GET IT OUT THE DOOR, BUT THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME. SO AS YOU COME BACK, PLEASE GIVE US SOME MORE DETAIL AND MORE, UM, DETAILED PLANS ABOUT HOW YOU INTEND TO SPEND THE GRANT FUNDS SO THAT WE CAN BE COMFORTABLE AND CONFIDENT. THANK YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU. ALRIGHT UM NEXT UP IS

WE WILL INCREASE OUR SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING BY ADDING NEXT DOOR ADDS. WE WILL NOT BE POSTING ON TWITTER. AS IT IS INEFFECTIVE.
WE ANTICIPATE CONTINUING RADIO ADVERTISING ON K LIKE 105. I THINK AS IT REACHES OUR AUDIENCES WELL, WE WILL CONTINUE SENDING NEWS RELEASES TO LOCAL MEDIA. WE WILL CONTINUE OUR TRADITIONAL SAVE THE DAY PLIERS BUT WILL ALSO ADD POSTCARDS AND A SMALL TARGETED DIRECT MAILING TO THE MIX. OH GOOD, THANKS TO THE EFFORTS OF NEARLY 400, MASTER GARDENERS AND SUPPORT FROM ORGANIZATIONS LIKE HIM. CDC THE TEXAS MASTER GARDENER ASSOCIATION ASSOCIATION,
[01:55:07]
RECENTLY NAMED COLLIN COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS AS THE MOST OUTSTANDING OF ALL LARGE MASTER GARDENER ASSOCIATIONS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, WHO YOU SHARE IN OUR SUCCESS AND BY GRANTING OUR REQUEST FOR 10,000. AND 40 MONTHS IS 41 $40. CDC WILL CONTINUE HELPING C C N G A SO THE SEAS THAT GETS NEW GARDENER STARTED. OH, WOW, EXCELLENT. YEAH YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ANYBODY GO LAST YEAR THIS YEAR? CRYING. IT WAS COLD. YES IT WAS , BUT WE CAN'T HELP THAT I HAVE A QUESTION OR TWO IN THE MATERIALS THAT YOU SENT IN ADVANCE FROM THIS PRESENTATION, BUT THE PACKET UM I DID NOTICE, AND I THINK I READ IT RIGHT. IT LOOKS LIKE THE EXPENSES DID EXCEED THE INCOME AND THAT THERE WERE ALSO SOME AUDIT FINDINGS ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FUNDS. AND SO I WAS JUST CURIOUS. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU TWO ARE POSITIONED TO SPEAK ABOUT THAT. BUT IT DID RAISE A BIT OF A FLAG FOR ME. NO. KILL PLANET? YEAH. BELIEVE IT. OVER ISSUES HAVE BEEN. YOU CAN COME UP TO THE PODIUM. COME ON, JENNY, RIGHT. I BELIEVE THAT WE'RE ALL GREAT AS FAR AS OUR FINANCIAL THREE DAYS TO SPEAK STRONG AND MANAGED. WE HAVE A COMMITTEE THAT IS ON TOP OF IT. SO THAT MAYBE THERE. DUE DILIGENCE. IT IS SHOWING UP THAT WE HAVE THINGS THAT WE WANT TO WORK ON. OKAY YEAH, I WOULD JUST APPRECIATE MAYBE A FOLLOW UP ON THAT BECAUSE IT DIDN'T SEEM TO BE A CLEAN AUDIT OPINION. AND IF THERE IS A TASK FORCE THAT'S WORKING ON THAT IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE YOU KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TRYING TO RE MEDIATE THERE. AND THEN I THINK, UM I WAS CURIOUS LAST YEAR IF YOU THINK THE ATTENDANCE WAS DOWN DUE TO, UM YOU KNOW THAT THE BASKETBALL GAME OR THE COLD WEATHER IF YOU THINK THERE THAT ATTENDANCE MIGHT NOT BE SO STRONG BECAUSE IT'S ON ST PATRICK'S DAY. I WAS JUST CURIOUS IF THAT, YOU KNOW WELL, WHAT WE HAVE TO OPERATE WITHIN THE PARAMETERS OF MYERS PARK AND WHEN THEY CAN SCHEDULE ARE EVENTS PART OF THIS SCHEDULING IS COMPLETELY OUT OF OUR CONTROL. IF WE. USE THAT AS A WAY TO MARKET OUR EVENT. I THINK THAT THAT MAY BE A BENEFIT TO US. GOING GREEN. WHATEVER WHAT BETTER COULD YOU DO? UM I'M VERY CONFIDENT THAT THE TWO NEW COMMUNICATIONS CHAIRS THAT WE HAVE, WE'RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO TAKE US TO THE NEXT LEVEL. AND THEY'VE ALREADY DONE THAT. AND SEVERAL OF OUR MOST RECENT MARKETING EFFORTS THROUGH WE SAW LIKE A WE HAD 300. AT OUR WALK IN THE PARK THAT WAS JUST THREE TIMES NORMALLY HAVE WERE SPEAKER SERIES YESTERDAY. HELP PROMOTE THAT WE HAD 400 REGISTERED FOR A WEBINAR THAT WE'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE, AND I JUST SEE FROM THE MARKETING. YOU SAW SOME OF THEIR MARKETING PRODUCT IN OUR PRESENTATION, BUT WHEN THEY GET INTO THE STRATEGY OF WHAT THEY'RE DOING, I THINK WE'RE GOING TO SEE A HUGE CHANGE. THANK YOU, YOUNG. OH IT SEEMED TO ME LAST YEAR WE ATTEND EVERY YEAR'S HIM LAST YEAR, THERE WERE FEWER VENDORS AND I RECALL IN THE YEARS PAST IS THAT 23? LAST YEAR. AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT IT SEEMED TO ME WALKING AROUND. THERE WERE JUST FEWER VENDORS THAN I RECALL. WE HAD TO REARRANGE OUR CURRENT CONFIGURATION. EXCUSE ME. AT THE VERY LAST MOMENT. WE LOST ONE OF OUR MAJOR VENDORS. UM HOMEGROWN MARK HOMEGROWN PLANTS. THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH STAFF TO STEP THEIR FACILITY AND TO COME TO THE GARDEN SHOW. SO AT THAT POINT, IT WAS A LITTLE TOO LATE FOR US TO ADD ADDITIONAL VENDORS. BUT YOU'RE NOT HAVING DIFFICULTY GETTING PARTICIPATION . NO NO FULL ALREADY AND WE CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT ON THE FLOOR WILL HAVE MORE. I APPRECIATE THAT. OKAY? THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.[Consider/Discuss Promotional and Community Event Grant Application Submitted by SBG Hospitality (PC 23-24) in the Amount of $10,000.00 for the Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2023 McKinney Wine and Music Festival.]
