[Update on the Historic Resources Survey (Historic McKinney Survey ’23)]
. OKAY OKAY. GOOD DEAL. OKAY WE'RE GONNA MOVE TO THE INFORMATION SHARING ITEMS AND I'M GONNA TURN IT OVER TO PAUL ANESTA. OUR HISTORIC PRESERVATION MANAGER. THANK YOU . CHAIRWOMAN EVENING BOARD MEMBERS POLLEN ASTA CITY OF MCKINNEY HISTORIC PRESERVATION MANAGER. AH, WE ARE GOING TO DO A BRIEF UPDATE ON THE HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY RIGHT NOW. SO LET'S SEE IF IT'LL GO FORWARD. THERE WE GO. SO HISTORIC MCKINNEY SURVEY 23 IS UNDERWAY.THIS IS OUR LOGO IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT BEFORE. BUT HICKSON COMPANY AS YOU MET, OUR ONE OF OUR LAST MEETINGS IS DOING THE SURVEY FOR US, THEIR TEAM HICKSON COMPANY WITH BURNS, MCDONALD, MCDONALD AND MADE HUNT. THEY STARTED SURVEYING ACTUALLY LAST MONTH ON THE 18TH OF AUGUST, AND SO THEY DID SOME MEETINGS. THEY CAME AND MET WITH Y'ALL THIS SUMMER. THEY'VE MET WITH US. THEY DID THEIR RESEARCH AND SURVEY METHODOLOGY, AND THEY LIKE I SAID, SURVEYED THE SQUARE . THEY SURVEYED THE SQUARE AND SOME OTHER PROPERTIES TO THE NORTH AND EAST OF DOWNTOWN. SO THEY'VE DONE ABOUT 400 PROPERTIES SO FAR. BUT THEY WILL BE COMING BACK AGAIN ON THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER, 18TH TO DO ANOTHER SECTION OF THE EXISTING HISTORIC DISTRICT, SO THEY'LL BE WORKING ON THAT AND WORKING ON DOCUMENTATION OF THOSE RESOURCES. UM. THEY'RE ALSO GOING TO BE COMING TO SOME OUTREACH EVENTS COMING UP HERE, SO THEY'RE GOING TO BE AT OCTOBERFEST AT THE END OF THIS MONTH. UM, AND THEN WE ARE ALSO GOING TO BE TAGGING ALONG AND ATTENDING THE EAST NEIGHBOR EAST SIDE NEIGHBORHOODS FOR FESTIVAL THAT'S GOING TO BE HAPPENING IN OCTOBER ON THE SEVENTH, SO IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE AND COME OUT AND SHARE YOUR STORIES OF YOUR PROPERTIES OR PROPERTIES YOU KNOW ABOUT. THERE WILL BE LOOKING FOR THAT INFORMATION THERE, SO WE'RE HOPING TO GET OUT AND TALK TO THE COMMUNITY, AND THEN THEY WILL CONTINUE THE SURVEY AND DOCUMENTATION OVER THE COURSE OF THOSE FEW MONTHS AND THEN THE FINAL REPORT WILL BE OUT IN EARLY 2024. SO WE'RE STAYING ON TRACK WITH WHERE WE PLANNED TO BE. THIS IS JUST A REVIEW OF THE SURVEY AREA. YOU CAN SEE THIS IS THE WHOLE AREA THAT THEY'RE GOING TO GET THROUGH EVENTUALLY. AND THAT LITTLE BLUE HIGHLIGHTED AREA IS BASICALLY WHERE THEY HAVE DONE SO FAR, SO THEY'VE GOT MORE TO DO. YEAH. AS I MENTIONED THE FIELD WORKER CONTINUE. THEY ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP OUT WITH THE SURVEY. SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING OUT YOU CAN CONTACT THEM THROUGH OUR WEB THROUGH OUR WEB PAGE, WHICH HAS A HISTORIC SURVEY, WEB PAGE OR THROUGH THE LITTLE Q R CODE THAT IS ON THE FLYER RIGHT HERE , SO IT'S ALSO POSTED A FEW OTHER PLACES SO YOU CAN SEE THAT HERE IT IS. SO YOU CAN SCAN IT RIGHT FROM HERE FROM YOUR PHONES. AND THEN THERE'S A COPY OF THE FLYER. SO THAT'S WHERE WE'RE AT FOR NOW MOVING AND GROOVING. I JUST HAD A CURIOSITY . WHAT AS FAR AS VOLUNTEERS, WHAT IS IT THAT THE VOLUNTEERS ARE ACTUALLY DOING? THEY'RE GOING TO BE HELPING. SO WHEN THEY'RE DOING THE SURVEY, THEY'RE WALKING AROUND AND TAKING PHOTOS AND FILLING OUT THAT INFORMATION ON THE IPAD.
AND SO THE VOLUNTEERS WILL BE HELPING WITH THAT. SO YOU CAN SEE KIND OF BACK HERE. THIS IS A PICTURE OF SOME OF THE VOLUNTEERS IN THE PAST, AND SOME TOOK PICTURES AND SOME RECORDED IN THIS CASE. THE VOLUNTEERS ARE TAKING THE PICTURES AND THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM BURNS.
MCDONNELL IS TAKING THE PHOTOS. SO THINGS LIKE THAT. AND THERE'S AN END. IT'S A FORM SO YOU'RE BASICALLY CHECKING OFF THINGS ON THE FORM AND WRITING THINGS IN A FORM THAT WILL SAY, LIKE, YOU KNOW WHEN WE HAD THE MARKER APPLICATIONS, AND IT'S GOT ROOF MATERIALS, CITING MATERIALS, AND
[00:05:04]
YOU CHECK THINGS OFF FOR YOU RIGHT IN WHAT? WHAT IT IS. IT'S SIMILAR TO THAT. WHERE THEY ACTUALLY GOING UP TO THE DOORS. NO, NO. YOU'RE STAYING IN THE STREET. OKAY YOU STAND IN THE STREET AND TAKE A PICTURE BECAUSE YOU'RE TRYING TO GET AS MUCH OF THE HOUSE IN THE PICTURE AS YOU CAN, AND THEN THE BEST ANGLES STAND IN THE STREET SO YOU CAN GET PAST PLANTS AND TREES AND TRY TO GET CARS OUT OF IT. SO YOU DON'T REALLY SEE THE CARS AND LICENSE PLATES AND THINGS LIKE THAT. SWITCH AROUND AND THEY GIVE YOU LIKE THE IPAD. YEAH THEY HAVE THE IPAD THAT THEY BRING WITH THEM AND THEY'LL THEY'LL WALK YOU THROUGH WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND THEN YOU MEET THEM UP AND WHEN THEY WHEN YOU ALL AGREE ON THE TIME AND GO HELP! SURVEY. DO YOU KNOW? I DON'T KNOW. MIKE DO YOU KNOW HOW FAR THEY'VE GOTTEN SO FAR? THEY HAD 400 PROPERTIES. EXCUSE ME THE WEEK THEY WENT, AND THEY DID THAT BLUE AREA. THEY MIGHT HAVE GONE A LITTLE BIT NORTH OF THAT, BUT THEY'RE ROUGHLY THAT AREA. SO THAT'S SO LET'S SEE WHAT CROSS SO LIKE. THIS AREA RIGHT HERE. THIS IS. VISITS ME STANDARD STANDARD FOR SO IT'S RIGHT DOWN IN THIS AREA THAT THEY'RE AT, RIGHT. THIS IS THE COURTHOUSE RIGHT IN RIGHT UP IN HERE. RIGHT RIGHT BETWEEN VIRGINIA AND LOUISIANA. SORRY OVER WHAT PERIOD OF TIME THAT THEY DID. THAT WAS THE WEEK OF THE 18TH OF AUGUST, SO AND I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY HOURS EACH DAY THEY WERE OUT THERE. BUT THAT WEEK IN THE HOLE ORANGE AREAS GOTTA BE DONE. CORRECT EVENTUALLY. YEP. MHM. YEAH NOW THAT'S THEY'RE ONLY DOING HOUSES THAT WERE DATED FROM 1975 AND BACK. AND SO YOU KNOW, THERE'S BIG CHUNKS THROUGH THERE LIKE YOU KNOW, THERE'S BIG CHUNKS DOWN HERE. THAT ARE. POST 1975, AND THERE'S OTHER HOUSES AROUND AND BUILDINGS AROUND THAT POST 1975. AND SO THOSE WON'T BE INCLUDED. BUT THEY HAVE THE LIST AND EVERYTHING AND THEY HAVE A LIST AND THEY CHECK IT OFF AS THEY GO. YEP. ARE THEY FROM TEXAS? SOME OF MOST OF THEM ARE THERE'S BEEN HOT. YEAH YEAH.HICKSON MCDONALD'S THAT EXCUSE ME THAT THE HIXSON COMPANY STAFF . SOME OF THEM ARE FROM RIGHT HERE IN MCKINNEY, SO THEY ARE IN NORTH TEXAS, AND SOME ARE FROM SAN ANTONIO IN SOUTH TEXAS ARE CENTRAL TEXAS. EXCUSE ME, SO THEY'RE THEY'RE USED TO THE HEAT. GOOD YEAH, AND THEY COME PREPARED WATER BOTTLES SHADE. OKAY OKAY. OKAY. FELIX. DANNY QUESTIONS. THANK YOU, PAUL. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT THE SURVEY HOW IT COMPARES TO. HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN? SINCE WE DID? 1 2015 IS WHEN WE DID THE LAST ONE AND THAT ONE WAS JUST OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT. THE LAST TIME WE LOOKED OUTSIDE OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT WAS 2005. SO ALMOST 20 YEARS 20 YEARS.
BYE. OKAY? RIGHT YOU WANNA DO YOU WANNA GONNA STAND RIGHT HERE UNTIL YOU DO THE NEXT ONE? OKAY
[Informational Update Regarding Municipal Projects in the downtown area.]
AND THEN I'LL HAND IT OFF TO SHELLY. BACK UP HERE AND OKAY, SO NOW WE'RE GONNA GO TO 23-0696 INFORMATIONAL UPDATE REGARDING MUNICIPAL PROJECTS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA, OKAY? SO WE STARTED LAST MONTH DOING A LITTLE UPDATE ON WHAT'S GOING ON DOWNTOWN. AND SO YOU CAN. YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE THIS PHOTOGRAPH FROM THE CALENDAR THAT'S GOING TO COME OUT, SO WE'LL TALK ABOUT THAT LATER, BUT SO WE'RE GOING TO DO JUST A LITTLE BIT ON SOME OF THE MUNICIPAL PROJECTS THAT ARE GOING ON DOWNTOWN, AND I'M GOING TO TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'VE GOT GOING ON FROM OUR SIDE AND THE PLANNING SIDE. BUT SHELLEY LONG I'M GOING TO INTRODUCE SHELLEY. SHE IS FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS UP IN ENGINEERING. I HAD TO MAKE SURE I SAID THE ACRONYM CORRECTLY BECAUSE I ALWAYS USE THE ACRONYM. AND SHE'S GOING TO TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT ARE GOING ON ENGINEERING AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS WISE, SO I WILL STEP OFF AND LET CHILE GOOD EVENING. THANK YOU GUYS FOR LETTING ME COME ALRIGHT, SO I JUST WANTED TO UPDATE YOU GUYS ON A FEW OF THE PROJECTS AND THEN YOU GUYS CAN ASK QUESTIONS OR ASK ABOUT SOMETHING. MAYBE I DON'T TALK ABOUT I'M SURE YOU'VE SEEN THE EAST LOUISIANA STREET PROJECT THAT'S UNDERWAY RIGHT NOW CAUSING QUITE ER. COMMOTION WITH THE TRAFFIC, BUT SO RIGHT NOW THEY'RE IN, UM, KIND OF THE FIRST PHASE WHERE THEY'RE THEY'RE TRYING TO FINISH UP THE ROUNDABOUT THAT'S GOING TO BE AT DOC, MORTEN AND EAST LOUISIANA. THEY'RE HOPING TO BE DONE WITH THAT AND HOPEFULLY BY MID OCTOBER SO WE CAN OPEN THAT UP AND TO TRAFFIC, AND THEN THEY'RE GONNA MOVE OVER ONTO THE NEXT PHASE, WHICH THEY'VE BEEN DOING THE UNDERGROUND UTILITY WORK AS WELL, WHILE THEY'RE DOING THE ROUNDABOUT WORK, BUT THEN THEY'RE GOING TO BE MOVE INTO THE I THINK THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ROAD WILL BE FIRST THEY'RE GOING TO FINISH UP THE UTILITY WORKER WATERLINE AND SOME OTHER THINGS THEY HAVE TO PUT IN AND DO THE PAVING WORK THAT'S GOING TO GO FROM STATE HIGHWAY FIVE ALL THE WAY TO MURRAY, AND THEN THEY'LL FLIP TO THE OTHER LANE AND DO THE WORK ON THAT LAND. SO WHEN IT'S ALL DONE WILL HAVE NEW PAYMENT ALL THE WAY FROM ST HOW[00:10:06]
WE FIVE TO MURRAY STREET. UM ONCE WE CAN GET THAT ROUNDABOUT OPEN, AND WE MOVED TO ONE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT WILL BE ONE WAY TRAFFIC, SO AT LEAST HALF OF THE ROAD WILL BE OPEN AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO USE VIRGINIA TO GET AROUND DETOUR AROUND. LET'S SEE THE NEXT PROJECT. WE'RE PLANNING WHICH IS ACTUALLY GOING TO GO OUT FOR BID VERY SOON AS VIRGINIA THROCKMORTON INTERSECTION AND THAT'S RIGHT AT THE MUNICIPAL FACILITIES BEING BUILT. THEY'RE GONNA BE PUTTING IT AROUND ABOUT THERE AS WELL. AND THEN DOING SOME ROADWAY AND UTILITY WORK ALL THE WAY UP TO LAMAR STREET ALONG THROCKMORTON SO AND THEY'LL ALSO BE REPAVING ALL OF VIRGINIA ALL THE WAY TO STATE HIGHWAY FIVE. SO THAT BUT WE WANT TO GET USE LOUISIANA STREET DONE, BUT FIRST BEFORE WE FLIP OVER TO DO THAT ROADWAY TENDENCY. THE NEXT PROJECT I WAS GOING TO TALK ABOUT WAS, UM I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'VE NOTICED THE A D, A THE ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WE'VE GOT GOING ON ON VIRGINIA STREET. RIGHT NOW. IT GOES FROM BINGE TWO GRAVES. AND BASICALLY, THAT PROJECT ENCOMPASSES BOTH SIDES OF THE ROADWAY. THEY'RE GOING TO BE BASICALLY PUTTING IN ANY SIDEWALK THAT'S MISSING AND THEN REBUILDING ALL THE SIDEWALK TO MAKE SURE IT'S ADA COMPLIANCE BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD. ALL THE DRIVEWAYS WILL GET REBUILT AS WELL. WHERE DID YOU SAY THAT WAS? IT'S ON VIRGINIA BETWEEN BINGE AND GRAVES, AND IT ALSO INCLUDES LOUISIANA STREET. SO ONCE WE'RE DONE WITH THE VIRGINIA, THEY'RE GONNA MOVE OVER TO THE LOUISIANA STREET PROJECT. SIDE OF THE PROJECT AND DO THE SAME THING. BOTH SIDES OF LOUISIANA SIDEWALKS IN THERE.IT'S ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT A YEAR LONG PROJECT SO HOPEFULLY BY AUGUST NEXT YEAR THAT WILL BE ALL WRAPPED UP. LET'S SEE THE OTHER PROJECTS AND TALKED ABOUT WAS THE LOWER FIVE PLAZA. WHICH IS THE INVERTED DECK PARK. PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS THE INVERTED DECK PARK. TO TRY TO HELP CREATE A MORE PEDESTRIAN FRIENDLY CONNECTION BETWEEN DOWNTOWN AND THE EAST SIDE OF MCKINNEY. THAT ONE IS A LOT OF THINGS IN FLUX RIGHT NOW, BUT WE'RE WORKING WITH NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL GOVERNMENT WHO'S COMMITTED TO GIVING US $30 MILLION TO HELP BUILD THAT. BUT WE WANT TO TRY TO INCORPORATE AT LEAST THE BRIDGE STRUCTURE. TO BE PART OF THE STATE HIGHWAY FIVE TEXT DOT RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT. SO THEY'RE GOING TO. BASICALLY THE PLAN WE HOPE IS FOR THEM TO BUILD THE BRIDGE STRUCTURE AND IT'LL JUST KIND OF BE BURIED. AS THEY DO THEIR RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, AND THEN WE'LL GO BACK IN AS SOON AS WE CAN AND ACTUALLY DIG IT OUT AND BUILD THE PARK UNDERNEATH AND GET THAT DONE SO HOW WE FIND IS SUPPOSED TO BE LET IN. I THINK THE SPRING OF 2025. SO WE'RE JUST KIND OF WORKING OUT THE DETAILS. WE HAVE TO DO AN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT UPDATE. AND WE HAVE TO KIND OF FIGURE OUT WHO'S DOING THE PLANS AND WHO'S GONNA BE IN CHARGE OF WHAT BETWEEN THE CITY AND YOU GO. AND WHAT DID YOU SAY? STAY HIGHWAY, BOB. WHAT WAS IT THAT YOU SAID CHILE? I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU SAID. SAID STATE HIGHWAY FIVE HOURS THEY'RE GONNA BE BID FOR TO GO RECONSTRUCT THE ROADWAY ALL THE WAY DOWN FROM SPUR 3 99 ALL THE WAY UP TO JUST NORTH OF 3 80. IT'S STILL GOING TO BE A FOUR LANE DIVIDED ROADWAY, BUT THEY'RE GOING TO BE REBUILDING IT, PUTTING A MEDIUM DOWN. THE CENTER INSTEAD OF HAVING THE TWO A LEFT TURN LANE. JUST SEE NOW. KIND OF DOING SOME PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS AT SOME INTERSECTIONS AS WELL. TO IMPROVE. UM, WORKABILITY BETWEEN EACH SIDE OF A HIGHWAY FIVE. SO . YOU SEE YOU? ARE THERE ANY OTHER PROJECTS OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU GUYS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT. HAVE A QUESTION? SURE AND IT'S MORE. PROBABLY NOT SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO ANSWER RIGHT NOW. OKAY BUT THE $30 MILLION FROM NORTH TEXAS COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, UH CAN NOT BE APPLIED TO OTHER PROJECTS ALONG THE CORRIDOR OF HIGHWAY FIVE. I KNOW COUNCIL HAS HAD THIS DISCUSSION A LOT ABOUT CROSSING HIGHWAY FIVE HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY AT OTHER INTERSECTIONS THAN IT DOES DIRECTLY AT, UM, DOWNTOWN, AT LEAST FROM RESIDENTS ON THE EAST SIDE, AND THE SAFETY OF THAT CROSSING IS REALLY QUESTIONABLE . UM AND SO FOR ME, THAT'S KIND OF A AN IMPORTANT. TOPIC THAT I JUST WANT TO KNOW. UM COULD THAT MONEY? BE SHIFTED TO KIND OF MAYBE MAKE THIS PROJECT LESS OF A HIGHLIGHT AND JUST ENSURE SAFE CROSSING ACROSS THE WHOLE CORRIDOR. WELL FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THAT 30 MILLION IS COMMITTED TO JUST THIS PARTICULAR PROJECT. UM BUT AS PART OF THE STATE HOW WE FIND WERE CLOSELY COORDINATING WITH TEXT THAT ON THAT PROJECT, OBVIOUSLY, AND WE'RE GONNA BE DOING SOME COUNTS UP AND DOWN THE QUARTER TO TRY TO GET A BETTER IDEA. WE'RE GONNA TRY TO DO A WEEK'S WORTH, SO WE GET WEEKDAYS AND WEEKEND. HOPEFULLY IN SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER TIME FRAME WHERE WE CAN KIND OF SEE WHERE PEOPLE ARE CROSSING SO THAT WE CAN PUT INTO THE PLANS SOME AREAS OF WHAT WE NEED TO FOCUS
[00:15:02]
ON, YOU KNOW, MAKING A BETTER CROSSING, WHETHER IT'S A TRAFFIC SIGNAL OR RECTANGULAR, RAPID FLASHING BEACON. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'VE SEEN THOSE BUT IT'S KIND OF AN OVERHEAD. UM LIGHT WHERE THE PEDESTRIAN PUSHES THE BUTTON AND IT FLASHES STOP IN. THE VETERAN CAN CROSS SO KIND OF JUST VERY NICE, MR T. GIC PLACES TO PUT THOSE OBVIOUSLY, WE CAN'T PUT ACROSS AND EVERYWHERE RIGHT , ALIGHTED OR CONTROLLED CROSSING, RIGHT? BUT WE TRY TO DO THE BEST WE CAN WITH WHERE THEY'RE ACTUALLY HAPPENING. OKAY SO THANK YOU SO. SO THE PROJECT GOES FROM 3 82. WHAT'S THE SOUTH? SPUR 3 99. I DON'T KNOW. COME UP FROM FAIRVIEW. WHERE THE DUMP RIGHT? YEAH. SO HOW MANY CROSSINGS ARE SLATED FOR THAT WE'VE GOT THE UNDERGROUND CROSSING AT LOUISIANA. WE'RE LOOKING AT ALL THE INTERSECTIONS THE WHOLE QUARTER, SO AND WE'LL JUST TRY TO FIGURE OUT SO ALL OF THE INTERSECTIONS SHOULD HAVE A CROSSING OR YES. A GOOD EGG. TECH STOCKS KEEP MOVING DALLAS WEBSITE YOU CAN FIND MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE PROJECT. THE SPECIFICS WOULD YOU GIVE THAT WHAT IS THAT INFORMATION IN TEXT DOT WHAT? UM, KEEP MOVING. DALLAS, OKAY? AND THAT'S A PLAN THAT TECH STATUS DOING OR MCKINNEY IS DOING. TECH STARTED. IT'S A TECH STOP PROJECT. UM SO, BUT WE'RE. WE WORKED VERY CLOSELY WITH THEM TO HELP COME UP WITH IDEAS AND PLANS FOR HOW THEY NEED TO BE REBUILT THE ROADWAY. AT THE END OF THE PROJECT, WE MAYBE WE'RE HOPING TO TAKE PART OF IT OFF SYSTEM. I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY THE LENGTH OF THE QUARTER WITHIN THAT AREA , BUT BECAUSE OF THAT, I THINK THEY'RE GOING TO BE MORE WILLING TO WORK WITH US TO DO SOME MORE THINGS THAT ARE NOT QUITE TRADITIONAL TEXT DOT INTERSECTION THINGS SO, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE'S GOING TO BE MORE THAN JUST THE ONE INTERSECTION. YEAH I MEAN, THERE'S NOT ANOTHER ONE CROSSING. UM GRADE SEPARATED INTERSECTIONS. IN THE PROJECT.IT WOULD PROBABLY BE MORE LIKE THE RECTANGULAR FLAT RACK WITH FLASHING BEACONS OR THERE WOULD BE TRAFFIC SIGNALS OR JUST ENHANCE CROSSWALKS AND GOING THROUGH THE CUTTING THROUGH THE MEDIAN AND HAVING A REFUGE ISLAND FOR PEOPLE. MR CROSSING THE ROAD INSTEAD OF HAVING JUST TO A LEFT TURN LANE WHERE THEY'RE TRYING TO DODGE TRAFFIC. THE WHOLE WAY ACROSS SO. YES.
HOW'S HOW'S THAT THERE? HAS AN INVENTORY BEEN DONE WITH THE BUSINESSES, UH, DISLOCATED BY THIS. DESIGN. AND THE NUMBER OF . THE COST FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY AND THE UNDERGROUND. I DON'T KNOW THE DETAILS ABOUT THE COST OF SECURITY OR ANYTHING, BUT, UM ACCORDING TO THE FEASIBILITY STUDY AGAIN, IT'S ALSO VERY SCHEMATIC. UM I THINK IT'S FIVE PROPERTIES THAT WILL HAVE TO BE RELOCATED. WHEN IT WAS A DECK PARK. IT WAS GOING TO BE MORE BUT NOW THAT WE'RE GOING TO GO UNDER UNDER THE ROADWAY. WELL I GUESS THEY WERE ABLE TO LIMIT HOW MUCH ON EACH SIDE OF SAY, HOW WE FIND THEY'RE COMING TO ACTUALLY TAKE A PROPERTIES. SO IS IT. PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE? WHAT I'M SORRY. EXCUSE ME, JAMES. IS IT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE? WHAT? UM WHAT PROPERTIES ARE GOING TO BE RELOCATED YET? IT'S SHOWN IN THE GRAPHICS, BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT THEY'VE GOTTEN SPECIFIC WITH ANY WITH ANY OF THE ACTUAL PROPERTY, SO I CAN'T SAY FOR SURE. OH SORRY. THANK YOU. I USED TO BEING UP HERE, DUDE, YOU'RE DOING GREAT. GREAT. GREAT. YOU SO, YEAH, SO WHAT IT SO IS THAT SHOWING THE PROPERTIES THAT HAVE TO BE RAISED OR TAKEN DOWN, OKAY? SO THIS RIGHT HERE IS STATE HIGHWAY FIVE. BASICALLY, IT WOULD BE ON THE TOP. AND THEN THIS WOULD BE LIKE THEY'RE SHOWING IT KIND OF LIKE AN AMPHITHEATER KIND OF STEPPED DOWN TO GO UNDERNEATH AND THEN I'M SURE THERE'LL BE AN ELEVATOR ON ONE SIDE. OR MAYBE BOTH SIDES. SOME WAY TO MAKE SURE IT'S ACCESSIBLE FOR ANYONE TO GO DOWN AND USE IT. LET'S SEE IF I CAN TELL SO IT LOOKS LIKE SO THE AMPHITHEATER THE WIDTH OF THE ROAD HERE, THE WIDTH OF THE TAKING. BUT IT'S PROBABLY LOUISIANA ON THE BOTTOM AND OH, YES, THIS IS VIRGINIA RIGHT HERE IN THIS LOUISIANA. OKAY THAT WOULD BE WHERE THE THAT. PARKING GARAGE IS THAT GREEN PAINTING? IT'S KIND OF THAT GREEN MURAL RIGHT HERE. AH THIS ONE JUST ENTERTAIN YAHOO! THANK YOU, UM SO IT IT WOULD COME LIKE ALL OF THESE. THAT WOULD BE RIGHT HERE BETWEEN THE GREEN. MURAL SO THIS RIGHT HERE WOULD BE THE HISTORIC . THAT'S AMUSING, RIGHT? YEAH EVERYTHING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THAT. I THINK THERE'S LIKE A STRIP THERE IS A STRIP SHOPPING CENTERS GOT. I THINK IT'S THAT PROPERTY MIGHT BE MULTIPLE PROPERTIES STILL ON THERE. BUT OBVIOUSLY THERE'S NOTHING ON THE EAST SIDE BECAUSE THERE'S
[00:20:06]
NOTHING THERE RIGHT NOW. IT WOULD BE SOME. I THINK THERE'S A KIND OF EMPTY BUSINESS BUILDING GAS STATION GAS STATION RIGHT HERE. I BELIEVE THAT WOULD BE IMPACTED. WOULD, UM WONDER, POTENTIALLY. WHERE IS THE SALOON ? WHERE IS THE WONDERING THE SALOON, AND I'M WONDERING IF COOKIES THE SALOON IS RIGHT THERE BUILDINGS OVER THERE. THAT'S NOT. YEAH AND THEN THERE'S COOKIES. MEXICAN RESTAURANT. IT'S OFF THE SCREEN THAT SITS DOWN LIKE DOWN HERE BY ON THE YEAH WHERE THE BLUES THAT GREEN BUILDING, OKAY, AND THEN ON THE TOP CORNER THAT IS GOING TO BE THE APARTMENT COMPLEX. THAT'S A PRIVATELY OWNED, CORRECT THE MULTI FAMILY COMPLEX AND THEN CITY HALL, I BELIEVE IS RIGHT HERE. WHAT'S GOING IN. IT'S GONNA LOOK A LOT DIFFERENT GOING TO LOOK A LOT DIFFERENT. AND THERE'S A LOT OF BALLS IN THE AIR ON THIS ONE, AND THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS TO WORK THROUGH. SO WE'RE HOPING FOR THE BEST, BUT WE'LL DO WHAT WE CAN AND AGAIN. PART OF THE PROJECT IS RELOCATING THOSE BUSINESSES. SO THAT'S PRETTY BIG COST AS WELL.SO THANKSGIVING LIKE A TIMEFRAME , DID YOU? I'M SORRY. DID, UM IF I'M ASKING YOU TO REPEAT IT, BUT IS THERE WAS THE TIME FRAME ON THIS, DO YOU? WELL LIKE I SAID, THEY'RE TRYING TO ENCOMPASS PART OF THE STRUCTURAL, UM PART THE BRIDGE STRUCTURE THAT'S GOING TO GO RIGHT HERE THAT WE WOULD GO DOWN UNDERNEATH AS PART OF THE STATE HOW WE FIND PROJECTS SO THAT THE DESIGN HAS TO BE DONE TO BE ADDED TO THE PLANS. WHICH ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BID AND PUT OUT CONSTRUCTION THE SPRING OF 2025. AND THEY'RE SAYING IT'LL TAKE PROBABLY ABOUT A YEAR BEFORE THAT PART WOULD BE DONE MAYBE A YEAR AND A HALF. AND THEN WE CAN GO IN AND SORRY. START WORKING ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ACTUAL PARK , AND MEANWHILE, WE WOULD BE WORKING ON THE DESIGN OF THE PARK AND THAT KIND OF THING WELL THEN. STATE HIGHWAY FIVE WORK IS BEING DONE. JUST THE ROADWAY PART AND AGAIN, THE HIGHWAY IS NOT GONNA BE ELEVATED. IT'S GOING TO BE A PART IS GOING TO BE UNDERGROUND. YES THE HIGHWAY WAS SAYING EXACTLY THE SAME LEVEL. AND THEY'LL STILL BE CROSSINGS AT THE SIGNALS. SO YOU COULD GO EITHER WAY. AS FAR AS HOW IT'S PLANNED. NOW THAT COULD CHANGE. THE CROSSINGS WILL BE AT STREET LEVEL. NO, THEY'LL BE UNDER BOTH. OKAY, YOU CAN GO OVER OR UNDER UNDER SO. BUT THERE ARE DEFINITELY A LOT OF DETAILS TO WORK OUT. YEAH. AND SORRY AGAIN, BUT THIS IS. THE WHOLE CORRIDOR. UM, WHERE TEXT DOT IS LIKE REDOING THE MEDIANS , ADDING THEM BACK IN, UM BECAUSE THEY TOOK THEM OUT. THE REASON IN THE FIRST PLACE. OH, JEEZ, IS THAT UM GOING TO HAPPEN ON THAT SAME TIME FRAME, OR IS THAT GOING TO HAPPEN BEFOREHAND? SO THAT'S ALL PART OF THE STATE OF FIRE PROJECT IS TO GO FOR THE MEDIA BACK IN FOR THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE COURT. THAT'S HAPPENING AND DOING THE PEDESTRIAN ENHANCED IMPROVEMENTS AT KEY LOCATIONS IS ALSO PART OF THE PROJECT TO KIND OF SEPARATE FROM THE LOWER FIVE PLAZA, RIGHT AND THAT WILL BE AFTER THE TEXT DOT PROJECT IS DONE. OKAY AT THE VERY END. YEAH, SO IT KIND OF DEPENDS ON TIMING. AND IS THERE AN ESTIMATE TO HOW MUCH AS ONCE ? THIS HAS IMPROVED ESTIMATE HOW MUCH TRAFFIC WILL INCREASE ON THIS ROAD, OR IS IT EXPECTED TO STAY THE SAME? ARE THERE ANY PROJECTIONS? DON'T RECALL THE I DON'T KNOW IF I HAD THAT ANSWER FOR YOU. I CAN TRY TO FIND OUT AND GET BACK TO YOU. BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THE STUDY WAS DONE, BUT AND THERE'S THE SAME NUMBER OF LANES SO IT'LL PROBABLY INCREASE A LITTLE BIT. THERE'S ONLY SO MUCH CAPACITY. THE ROADS AND HANDLES AND THE LIGHTS ARE GONNA THERE'S NO DECREASE IN LIGHTS. THERE'S JUST THE SAME AMOUNT OF STOPLIGHTS AS IT IS NOW. I BELIEVE SO RIGHT NOW WE MAY PROPOSE TO ADD A COUPLE MORE AS PART OF THE PROJECT, DEPENDING ON THE PEDESTRIAN COUNCIL, WHERE UM, I THINK THOSE ARE NEEDED.
THEY HAVE TO MEET WARRANTS AND THAT KIND OF THING SO THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO DO SOME EXTRA STUDIES AND COUNTS. IN EVERY PLACE THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY A STOP. STOP LIKE THERE WILL BE PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS LIKE BUTTON SO THAT THEY CAN CROSS THE STREET. BUT IT WILL BE AT STREET LEVEL EXACTLY. OKAY AND I HAD ONE MORE QUESTION. AND IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS, UM SO AND THEN THE 30 MILLION THAT WE'RE GETTING FROM THE TEXT. UH, NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL GOVERNMENTS DOES THAT. IS THAT GOING TO PAY FOR THE WHOLE THING? OR IS MCKINNEY GOING TO ENCUMBER SOME OF THAT? AT THE MOMENT, THAT'S AS PART OF THE ESTIMATE WE'VE GOTTEN THAT
[00:25:01]
SHOULD COVER EVERYTHING NOT SURE ABOUT THE UTILITY RELOCATES SOME OF THE THINGS LIKE THAT. THAT MIGHT NEED TO BE DONE BECAUSE WE'RE NOT SURE HOW DEEP WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GO WITH SOME OF THE UTILITY RELOCATIONS. UM BUT AT THE MOMENT THAT SHOULD COVER MOST OF IT. OKAY, GREAT.INFLATION COULD CHANGE THINGS, BUT ABSOLUTELY THANK YOU. QUESTIONS THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH. SORRY. OKAY, SWITCHING GEARS. HISTORIC PRESERVATION. SO WE NOW HAVE A MAP UP ON OUR WEB PAGE CALLED THE CEO A MAP AND IT'S CALLED THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR HISTORIC PROPERTIES IS ACTUALLY THE TECHNICAL NAME FOR IT, AND IT SHOWS ALL OF THE CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS THAT HAVE BEEN APPLIED FOR SINCE. ALL OF THE CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS THAT HAVE BEEN APPLIED FOR SINCE 2022. AND SO YOU CAN SEE FROM THIS GRAPH. THESE ARE THE SITES THAT THEY HAVE APPOINTMENT APPLIED FOR THE LITTLE RED DOTS . AND THEN AS YOU CLICK ON THE LITTLE RED DOTS, SORT OF, LIKE WHEN YOU KIND OF SAME INTERFACES WHEN YOU USE THE HISTORIC RESOURCES MATH THIS SCREEN OVER HERE, POPS UP. AND SHOWS YOU THE LOCATION. OF THE. C O A APPLICATION. IT SHOWS YOU THE PICTURE OF THE HOUSE THAT SHOWS YOU ALL THAT INFORMATION THAT'S ON THE HISTORIC RESOURCES THING WITH WHEN IT WAS BUILT IN WHAT STYLE IT IS AND WHAT ITS PRIORITY IS. AND THEN AS YOU SCROLL DOWN THE LITTLE SCROLL BAR HERE. IT'LL HAVE SOME OTHER PICTURES, BUT IT ALSO WHEN YOU CLICK I CAN'T SEE IT IF YOU WERE TO CLICK THIS LITTLE ARROW RIGHT THERE. IT WILL GIVE YOU THE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THE CHANGES WERE. SO IF THEY GOT TO RE ROOF, YOU WOULD CLICK THAT BUTTON, AND IT WOULD SAY. THE PROPERTY WAS RE ROOFED OR THEY GOT A NEW FENCE. IT WOULD SAY THE PROPERTY GOT A NEW, YOU KNOW. PUTTING IN A 6 FT THREATS ADVANCED THAT KIND OF THING SO YOU'LL BE ABLE TO GO AND CHECK WHAT PROPERTIES HAVE C O S. SO THOSE ARE ONLY FROM 2022 ON BECAUSE THOSE ARE ONES SINCE WE STARTED USING THE ONLINE SUBMISSIONS, SO THAT TELLS YOU ABOUT C O S, AND THEN ONE MORE UPDATE THESE AREN'T NEW THESE WE'VE HAD, BUT THESE ARE THREE OTHER LINKS THAT ARE PERTINENT TO DIFFERENT DEVELOPMENT THAT'S GOING ON. SO FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU WANTED TO GO LET ME SEE WHERE MY MARKERS IF YOU WANTED TO GO SEE MORE ABOUT THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS LIKE THE LOUISIANA STREET PROJECT, YOU COULD COME OVER HERE TO THIS PROJECT CAPITAL WHIPS. LET ME DO IT. AND YOU CAN CLICK ON THE ICON. IF YOU ARE IN THE MAPS, AND IT WOULD GIVE YOU ALL THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS THAT ARE GOING ON. WHEN YOU WERE ON THE R G I S PAGE YOU COULD LOOK CLICK ON THE DEVELOPMENT SNAPSHOT, AND IT WOULD GIVE YOU DIFFERENT DEVELOPMENTS THAT ARE GOING ON IN THE CITY AND IT'S NOT GOING TO LET ME CLICK ON IT SO I CAN'T SHOW YOU IT WILL POP UP. BUT PLANNING RESOURCES IS THE ONE THAT HAS THE SITE PLAN. SO IF SOMEBODY IS APPLIED FOR A SITE PLAN APPLICATION TO BUILD SOMETHING LIKE THAT APARTMENT BUILDING, YOU WERE LOOKING AT COMPLEX. YOU WOULD GO TO THE PLANNING RESOURCES MAP TYPE IN THE ADDRESS OR ZOOM INTO THE MAP. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ADDRESS AND CLICK ON THE PROJECT, AND IT WOULD GIVE YOU THE PICTURES OF WHAT IT WAS DESCRIPTION OF WHAT IT IS, AND THEN SOME OF THE PICTURES FOR WHAT THE SITE PLANS WERE ORIGINALLY NOT ALWAYS THE FINAL PLAN, BUT DEFINITELY SOME OF THE ORIGINAL PLANTS. THE CAPITAL PROJECTS, THINGS THAT WORKS THE SAME WAY YOU CAN ZOOM IN OR YOU CAN LOOK AT AN ADDRESS SPECIFICALLY, AND IT WILL SAY WHAT'S GOING ON IN THAT SPOT. THE DEVELOPMENT SNAPSHOT PORTAL IS A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT WHEN YOU OPEN IT. IT'S GOT TABS AT THE TOP AND FACTS AND DATA AND SO YOU CAN OPEN IT AND LOOK AT RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE WHOLE CITY. THIS ISN'T JUST FOR DOWNTOWN. THIS IS THE WHOLE CITY. THE NUMBER OF RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT PERMITS THAT HAVE BEEN ISSUED IN THE LAST YEAR. UM SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF PROJECTS THAT YOU CAN LOOK AT. SO IT'S JUST ANOTHER WAY FOR YOU GUYS TO GET INFORMATION ON YOU AND THE PUBLIC AT LARGE TO GET INFORMATION ON WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND THE CITY. SO OKAY? I THINK THAT IS IT FOR ME? YEP NEXT ITEM UP FOR GRABS HIS BACK TO THE C O A. IS THAT SO IF I WANT TO GO THERE? YEP. THAT'S THAT'S MORE THAN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT. IS THAT RIGHT? OR IS THAT JUST HISTORY IS JUST THE HISTORIC DISTRICT, SO THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT GETS US IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT SORRY I'M AWAY FROM THE MICROPHONE AGAIN. THERE ARE ONLY PEOPLE TO GET COGS IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT, AND SO YOU CAN ONLY CLICK ON BUTTONS IN THIS PARTICULAR SPOT. OKAY IT SHOWS MORE OF THE MAP BECAUSE THAT'S JUST HOW MUCH OF THE SCREEN I HAD ZOOMED OUT TO BE ABLE TO GET. THIS BIG OF A PAIN, OKAY? THIS IS AVAILABLE ON THE ONLINE RIGHT NOW. IT DOESN'T RIGHT NOW. IT LINKS FROM OUR REGULAR HISTORIC RESOURCES WEB PAGE ONCE THE. ICONS ARE
[00:30:03]
FINISHED BEING DEVELOPED FOR IT . IT WILL THEN MIGRATE TO THE SAME PAGE THAT THESE ARE ON THAT REGULAR ARC GIS MAPS PAGE THAT HAS ALL OF THE CITY'S MAPS FROM COUNCIL DISTRICTS TO FIRE DEPARTMENTS TO ALL OF THESE PLANNING ITEMS AND ENGINEERING ADAMS WHO'S DEVELOPING THIS PAULA. AH WELL. AH, RIGHT GIS DEPARTMENT DID THE MAPS FOR US. WE TOLD HIM WHAT WE WANTED, AND THEY WORKED WITH US AND CREATED IT IN OUR COMMUNICATIONS STAFF IS WORKING ON ALL OF THE ICONS AND THINGS TO DEVELOP, SO IT'S BEEN A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT WITH THE MULTIPLE DEPARTMENTS AND WE APPRECIATE ALL OF THEIR WORK AND EFFORT AND GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH THEM. SO LOOKS GOOD. YEAH SO IT'S REALLY JUST KIND OF HELPING GETTING THE INFORMATION OUT THERE, SO EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON. VERY HELPFUL, OKAY? GOT ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT INFORMATION SHARING. OKAY[CONSENT ITEMS]
ALRIGHT. ALRIGHT WE'RE GONNA MOVE TO THE CONSENT AGENDA ITEM NUMBER 23-0697 MINUTES OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ADVISED REPORT REGULAR MEETING JULY THE 6TH 2023. DO WE HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THAT CONSENT AGENDA? TO MAKE A MOTION TO APPROVE ANY BOARD BY BOARD MEMBER FOR DALE AND SECOND BY BOARD MEMBER WEST. ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION. ALL IN FAVOR. RAISE YOUR HAND. POSED[Consider/Discuss/Act on the Request by Rebecca Graham for Approval of a Historic Marker for the Property Located at 616 W. Virginia Street.]

REBECCA IS NOT HERE TONIGHT, BUT I'LL TRY AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS I CAN. SO THIS IS THE TUCK HILL HOUSE. IT WAS CONSTRUCTED CIRCA 18 78. IT'S A TWO STORY FOLK. VICTORIAN I HOUSE. BUILT ON PIER AND BEAM FOUNDATION WITH THE WOOD FRAME.ONE OF THE CHARACTER DEFINING FEATURES OF THE HOME IS THAT CENTRALLY LOCATED PORCH? THE HOME WAS LISTED AS A HIGH PRIORITY BUILDING IN THE 2015 UPDATED THE HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY AND AS A REMINDER THE HIGH PRIORITY BUILDINGS CONTRIBUTE SIGNIFICANTLY. TO LOCAL HISTORY OR BROADER HISTORICAL PATTERNS. THEY ARE AN OUTSTANDING OR A UNIQUE EXAMPLE OF ARCHITECTURE, ENGINEERING OR CRAFT DESIGN THAT RETAIN A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF ORIGINAL CHARACTER AND CONTEXTUAL INTEGRITY. THEY CAN ALSO QUALIFY FOR THIS CATEGORY AS THE LAST REMAINING EXAMPLE OF A BUILDING TYPE. OR IF THEY'RE ASSOCIATED WITH IN A HISTORIC EVENT OR PERSON. AND THEN THIS ONE IN PARTICULAR THE TO KILL HOUSES ARCHITECTURALLY SIGNIFICANT IN MCKINNEY. SOME OF THE CHARACTER DEFINING FEATURES THAT YOU'LL SEE THROUGHOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE HOME INCLUDE THOSE TALL NEAR WINDOWS. THE UNIQUE WINDOW HOODS, THE DETAILED PORCH POSTS AND BRACKETS THE FRONT BALCONY AND THEN THE SYMMETRICAL LAYOUT. AND THEN THE SANBORN MAPS ON THIS SLIDE SHOW THE HISTORICALLY OUT OF THE PROPERTY FROM AS EARLY AS 19 02. AND THEN THERE'S A PLAN OF THE FIRST FLOOR INCLUDED BELOW THAT. SHADED IN GRAY. IT'S A LITTLE BIT DIFFICULT TO SEE. BUT SHADED IN GRAY IS KIND OF THE ORIGINAL SHAPE OF THE HOME. AND THEN THE ALTERATIONS THAT HAPPENED CIRCA 1970, INCLUDING THOSE TWO BATHROOMS, THE UTILITY ROOM, THE PORCH AND THE DECK. UM, ARE RIGHT THERE ON THE BACK PORTION OF THE HOUSE. SO THE FIRST OWNER OF THE HOME WAS FRANCIS MARION TO KILL A PIONEER STOP MEN AND PROMINENT MCKINNEY RESIDENT.
SECOND COUSIN TO JESSE AND FRANK JAMES. RUMOR HAS IT THAT FRANK AND JESSE WERE WOULD HIDE IN THE ATTIC OF THE HOME TO AVOID THE AUTHORITIES TOOK WAS ACTIVE IN CIVIC AFFAIRS AND DIED AT THE AGE OF 77 IN 1920. ALL OF THESE PHOTOS ARE OF TUCK HILL THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. BUT
[00:35:05]
UNFORTUNATELY ALL OF THEM ARE ALSO UNDATED. AND THEN TUCK. HILL'S WIFE, MARY WAS THE SECOND OWNER OF THE HOME UPON HIS DEATH. THEN SECURE. SIX YEARS LATER, SHE PASSED AWAY MAKING THEIR YOUNGEST CHILD CLEARANCE. AUTO HILL, THE THIRD HOMEOWNER. CLEAR IT'LL LIVED IN THE HOME UNTIL HIS DEATH UNTIL 1969. SOMETHING VERY INTERESTING ABOUT HIM. HE HAD SEVERAL JOBS IN MCKINNEY, INCLUDING A BOOKKEEPER AND ELECTION CLERK AND A CANARY BREEDER. WHICH I THOUGHT WAS HILARIOUS. NOT A JOB YOU HEAR ABOUT OFTEN, AND THEN THESE SLIDES TO SHOW IMAGES OF THE HOME FROM 1985, 2005 AND 2015. AND THEN THIS IS WHAT THE CURRENT HOME LOOKS LIKE THE CURRENT ELEVATIONS. SO WE'VE GOT THE BACK OF THE HOUSE ONE SIDE. AND THEN KIND OF THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HOME AND A LITTLE BIT OF THE FRONT PORTION. SO STAFF HAS REVIEWED THE REQUEST BY THE HOMEOWNERS. AND FOUND THAT THIS DOES IN FACT MEET THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS. TO BE A HISTORIC MARKER. AND THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION FOR 6 16. THANK YOU. THANKS, CASSIE.NOBODY GOT ANY. AND NOW REBECCA IS THE OWNER IS NOT HERE TONIGHT . NO, THERE WERE REBECCA IS NOT HERE TONIGHT. OKAY? BY GOT ANY COMMENTS. HOUSE IS VERY IMPORTANT. EXCELLENT. TWICE. AND I THINK THE WORK HAS BEEN DONE ON IT. APPROPRIATE. AND I THINK . COMMUNITY HAS BENEFITED BY THIS HOUSE BEING THERE AND HAS A GREAT HISTORY. AND HOW PEOPLE LEARN MORE ABOUT IT. NO, THEY'VE MADE ALTERATIONS ON THE BACK OF IT, BUT THAT DOESN'T JEOPARDIZE BECAUSE YOU DON'T SEE IT. ON THE FRONT IS THAT IT'S YEAH, IT'S FINE, AND THEY'RE THEY'RE SMALL. THEY HAD THEIR KIND OF BEHIND THE BACK. AND THOSE WERE MADE A LONG TIME AGO, TOO. SO I WAS GOING TO SAY THEY WERE MADE CIRCA 19 SEVENTIES SO TECHNICALLY, THEY'RE HISTORIC AGE NOW, UM, 100TH BIRTHDAY.
YEAH IS CORRECT. YEAH CASSIE JUST SAID OF CURIOSITY. YOU SAID THAT THE HOUSE WAS ORIGINALLY A T OR IS IT JUST WAS IT JUST ONE LONGHOUSE? UM, IT'S AN I HOUSE. AND THAT'S JUST TALKING ABOUT THE PLAN ON THE INTERIOR, SO IT WAS BASICALLY LET ME GO BACK. OR AND I. SO WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT I HOUSE IT'S JUST THAT FRONT PORTION THAT'S JUST KIND OF ELONGATED, AND THEN IT HAD THE BACK PORTION AS WELL. OKAY. MY HOUSE IS TYPICALLY ARE KIND OF A LONG STRAIGHT SHAPE WITH THE CHIMNEY ON EACH END, OKAY. AND SO THIS ONE HAS THE I HOUSE FORM. BUT THEN IT HAD THAT LITTLE PIECE ON THE BACK. SO I HAD A LITTLE BIT OF AN L SHAPE, BUT IT'S GENERALLY AN I HOUSE WAS BORN. THANKS. ANYBODY ELSE HAVE ANY COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS OR WE HAVE A MOTION TO. OKAY OKAY. MOTION MADE BY MR WEST. WE'LL HAVE A SECOND. ALL 2ND 2ND BAD MISS S CAMELIA ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION? OKAY ALL IN FAVOR. RAISE YOUR HAND OPPOSED OKAY? PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. RIGHT WE'RE
[Consider/Discuss/Act on the Request by Kristyn and Ben Love for Approval of a Historic Marker for the Property Located at 507 W Lamar Street.]
GONNA GO TO OUR NEXT ITEM, WHICH IS HP 2023-0. CONSIDERED DISCUSS ACT ON THE REQUEST BY CHRISTIAN AND BEN LOVE FOR APPROVAL OF A HISTORIC MARKER FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 507 WEST LAMAR STREET, CASSIE. THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT, SO THIS ONE IS A HISTORIC MARKER APPLICATION FOR 57 WEST, LAMAR, KRISTEN AND BEEN LOVE OUR PRESENT TONIGHT. SO THIS IS THE URL WILL WOOLFORD HOUSE, WHICH WAS BUILT IN 1925 IN THE CRAFTSMAN STYLE. IT'S A ONE STORY FRAME HOUSE ON PIRON. AND BEAN FOUNDATION WITH A HORIZONTAL EXPRESSION. ONE OF THE CHARACTERS DEFINING FEATURES OF THIS HOME IS THE EXPOSED RAFTER TAILS IN THE KNEE BRACING, WHICH YOU COULDN'T SEE VERY WELL IN THAT PHOTO. THIS HOME IS ALSO LISTED AS A HIGH PRIORITY BUILDING. IN THE 2015 UPDATE OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY AND LIKE I HAD MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY HIGH PRIORITY HOMES CONTRIBUTE SIGNIFICANTLY TO LOCAL HISTORY OR BROADER HISTORICAL PATTERNS. AND THEY CAN BE UNIQUE OR OUTSTANDING EXAMPLES OF ARCHITECTURE AND ROUTINE, A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF ORIGINAL CHARACTER AND CONTEXTUAL INTEGRITY. THIS HOME IS ARCHITECTURALLY SIGNIFICANT AND QUALIFIES UNDER, UH SOMETHING THAT HASN'T CHANGED HASN'T LOST A LOT OF THAT ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE. SO WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT OTHER CHARACTER DEFINING FEATURE, GO[00:40:05]
HOME THAT YOU'LL SEE THROUGHOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHS. WE'VE GOT THAT EYEBROW CANOPY AT THE FRONT AND TREE WITH THE DOUBLE BRACKETS. THE EXPOSED RAFTER TAILS. LAP SIDING IN THE CLIPPED GABLE ENDS. AND THEN THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE THE FIRST HOMEOWNERS ERLIN LOTTIE. THEY HAD CONTRACTED JAMES WILKES TO BUILD THEIR HOME IN 1925. WILKES WAS A POPULAR CARPENTER AND CONTRACTOR DURING THE 19 TWENTIES. SOMETHING TO NOTE WAS THAT HIS LARGEST CONTRACT WORK ACTUALLY INVOLVES THE CONSTRUCTION OF HOMES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE COTTON MILL. AND THERE'S NO INFORMATION ABOUT EXACTLY WHICH ONES HE WAS CONTRACTED TO BUILD, BUT HE WAS ONE OF THE CONTRACTORS. AND WHEN WAS THIS BUILT AGAIN? 1925. AND THEN THIS IS JUST ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPH OF THE ORIGINAL HOMEOWNERS. ER WAR WORKED AS THE HEAD OF THE BOY HIGH SCHOOL COMMERCE DEPARTMENT AT THE TIME THE HOME WAS CONSTRUCTED. AND LOTTIE WAS AN ENGLISH TEACHER AT THE JUNIOR HIGH THAT WAS NEXT DOOR. EARL PASSED AWAY IN 1968. BUT HE CONTINUED TO LIVE IN THE HOME FOR ANOTHER 25 YEARS UNTIL SHE PASSED AWAY IN 1993. AND THEN THIS SLIDE JUST SHOWS SOME OF THE HISTORICAL WRITERS WE HAVE, WHICH IS 1985 AND THEN 2015. AND THEN THESE ARE JUST SOME CURRENT PHOTOS OF THE HOME SO PRETTY JOB ON THAT. AND WAS THAT WAS THEY WAS A BRICK THERE BEFORE. IS THAT KIND OF A NEW EMBELLISHMENT? IT'S REALLY PRETTY YEAH. YEAH, THAT LOOKS REALLY. AND THEN STEPH HAS REVIEWED THE REQUEST BY THE HOMEOWNERS AND FOUND THAT IT MEETS THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO BE A HISTORIC MARKER. AND THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION. AND I KNOW THE APPLICANT IS HERE. WOULD YOU ALL LIKE TO COME UP AND MAKE A PRESENTATION? LOVE FOR YOU TO SAY THANK YOU. WHY DON'T YOU COME UP? COME ON UP, AND, UM I DO NEED TO GET YOU NEED TO SAY YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS IS FOR THE RECORD AND HELLO. MY NAME IS BEN LOVE BIO SEVEN WEST. LAMAR I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY AND DOUBT TRUST IT. YOU MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION TO WHATEVER THAT MAY BE. THANK YOU FOR IT. THANK YOU. IT'S VERY IT'S VERY PRETTY HOME. FAIRLY NICE AND HAVE YOU ALL DONE A LOT OF WORK ON IT OR WE HAVE WELL, WE'VE WE'VE COME BACK. COME ON BACK. SORRY WERE WE GET REAL CURIOUS? YES YES, WE IT WAS. IT HAD BEEN A RENTAL FOR QUITE SOME TIME WE PURCHASED IT. IT REQUIRED A LOT OF STRUCTURAL AND JUST NOTHING HAD REALLY BEEN MAINTAINED. AND SO WE KIND OF WENT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM AND SHOURD IT UP, HOPEFULLY FOR ANOTHER 100 YEARS AND, UM SO. WE HAD TO DO FOUNDATION WORK, STRUCTURAL WORK, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, UM WE KEPT EVERY SURFACE WE COULD. THERE WAS ORIGINAL THAT COULD BE KEPT. BUT IF WE DID, IT WAS IT WAS IT WAS A JOURNEY AND WE DID ADD. IN ADDITION TO THE BACK CORNER, WHERE IT IS NOT PART OF THE FRONT FACE OF THE HOUSE, BUT WE ADDED A DISTANT LIVING SPACE THAT CAN BE SEEN IN THAT BOTTOM PICTURE. BUT WE DID IT CONSISTENTLY WITH THE ORIGINAL ARCHITECTURE. SO THAT WAS OUR INTENTION. BEAUTIFUL NICE JOB WITH THAT. THANK YOU. THANKS FOR KEEPING THE HISTORY OF THE FAMILY THAT WAS THERE. SO UM, WE HAD TO A LIMITED DEGREE. I'M FORTUNATE THAT I HAVE A NEIGHBOR THAT'S LIVED IN HIS HOUSE FOR 50 YEARS, AND SO I'VE BEEN ABLE TO GLEAN SOME INFORMATION FROM HIM . LOTTIE FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, USED OUR HOUSE TO EDUCATE. THAT MULTITUDE OF PEOPLE OVER THE COURSE OF A VERY LONG PERIOD OF TIME. UM AND, UM, THE ACTUALLY THE MY. MY SON'S BEDROOM IS THE ROOM WHERE MOST OF THAT TOOK PLACE, WHICH IS THAT THAT LITTLE PROJECTION BEYOND THE FRONT PORCH OVER THERE, AND, UH, I KNEW VERY CLOSELY OR HER HUSBAND. ALSO THEY'RE BOTH LIFELONG TEACHERS IN MCKINNEY PUBLIC SCHOOLS VERY MUCH BELOVED , REALLY WONDERFUL PEOPLE. YEAH YEAH, I'VE HEARD, BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT IT'S TRUE. THAT LOTTIE DEVELOPED AN IRIS. AND I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S TRUE ENOUGH, BUT I'VE HEARD I'VE HAD A COUPLE OF PEOPLE SAY THAT THERE WAS A PARTICULAR STRAIN OF IRIS THAT THAT SHE, UH SHE WAS INVOLVED IN . I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S JUST FOLKLORE. YOU NEVER, YOU KNOW, NEVER KNOW THAT THAT PART. I[00:45:02]
HAVEN'T YEAH. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. ANYTHING ELSE? I'M SORRY. WORK. THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH. OKAY ANYBODY ELSE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS? UM SO, CASSIE, YOU SAID THAT SO EARL WAS THE HE ALSO CONTRACTING AND HELPED BUILD HOUSES AT THE CUT FOR THE FOLKS THAT WORKED THE CONTINENTALS THAT I HEAR THAT CORRECTLY. NO SO THE PERSON THAT BUILT THEIR HOME THAT THEY CONTRACTED WAS JAMES WILKES. OKAY SO THAT'S THE ONE WHO WAS THE POPULAR CONTRACTOR AND THE CARPENTER. UM AND THE LARGEST CONTRACT THAT HE WAS INVOLVED WITH WAS WORKING ON THE HOMES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE COTTON MILL. I GOT YOU AND THEN FROM WHAT JAMES SAID EARLY IN LAHTI, WHERE TEACHERS LIFELONG TEACHERS OFFERED THE TRUTH. OKAY, OKAY.SHE TAUGHT IN JUNIOR HIGH ALSO LATER. AND HE WAS A HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER. REFERRED TO HIM AS PROFESSOR WOOLFORD. THANK YOU FOR YOUR WONDERFUL WORK. IT'S BEAUTIFUL. THAT'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY REALLY IS VERY BEAUTIFUL. OKAY ALRIGHT. ANY ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR ANYBODY WANT TO MAKE A MOTION OR MAKE A MOTION TO ACCEPT OR OKAY? DID YOU GET THAT WENDY? MEMBER FOR DALE AND BOARD MEMBER WEST SECONDED. OKAY A FURTHER DISCUSSION. IN FAVOR. RAISE YOUR
[Consider/Discuss/Act on the Request by Kristyn and Ben Love for Approval of a Historic Marker Level Historic Neighborhood Improvement Zone Program Tax Exemption for the Property Located at 507 W Lamar Street.]
HAND OPPOSED OKAY? PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. ALRIGHT I DON'T NUMBER HP 2023-008. TO CONSIDER DISCUSS ACT ON THE REQUEST BY KRISTIN AND BEN LOVE FOR APPROVAL OF A HISTORIC MARKER LEVEL HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT ZONE PROGRAM TAX EXEMPTION FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 507 WEST LAMAR STREET. I SEE. THANK YOU. SO THIS IS THE EASY APPLICATION FOR 507 WEST LAMAR. THE HOMEOWNERS ARE PRESENT IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS FOR THEM, BUT I'LL GO AHEAD AND START. SINCE THIS IS A REPEAT OF INFORMATION, I'M JUST GOING TO GO QUICKLY THROUGH IT. IT'S NIGHT BUILT IN 1925 AND THE CRAFTSMAN STYLE. IT IS A HIGH PRIORITY HOME. AND THEN THE LAWS HAVE DONE OVER $10,000 AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HOME, WHICH STAFF IS VERIFIED THROUGH RECEIPTS. UM THE FIRST RECEIPT OF WORK DATES BACK TO MAY OF 2021, WHICH IS WELL WITHIN THE THREE YEAR REQUIREMENT. THERE WAS EXTERIOR PAINT. RECEIPTS INCLUDED AS WELL AS A TRACK. IMAGINE SPENT QUITE A BIT MORE THAN THAT. UNFORTUNATELY THAT'S LIKE A DROP IN THE BUCKET AND THEN STAFF HAS REVIEWED THE REQUEST BY THE HOMEOWNERS AND FOUND THAT IT MEANT THE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HISTORIC MARKER LEVEL INCENTIVE. AND THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION. THANK YOU, KASIE. MHM. RIGHT? DUDE. DOES THE APPLICANT WANT TO COME BACK UP AND ADD ANYTHING OR OKAY? INTERESTING SO I KNOW I THINK MY DAD GREW UP IN A HOUSE IN THE EAST SIDE NEXT TO COTTON MILL THAT WAS BUILT BY THE SAME ARCHITECT. HIS NAME IS MICKEY LOVE FROM MCKINNEY'S JUST WEIRD NOTE. THAT'S IT. THAT'S KIND OF COOL. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT THE LITTLE SQUARE BOX THAT HOUSES THE HOUSE STILL THERE, DO YOU KNOW THAT'D BE INTERESTING TO KNOW. COME BACK UP. OKAY THIS IS INTERESTING. NO HOUSE IS MY GRANDDAD WAS BORN IN ON TENNESSEE IS STILL THERE ON THE CORNER OF STANDARD FROM TENNESSEE SO AND THAT I HAVE A PICTURE OF HIM IN 19 07 STANDING IN FRONT OF IT. MY DAD'S DAD'S AN IDEA. MY GRANDDAD WOULD BE 100. I DIDN'T 19 07 NATURAL THREE WAS BORN. SO THAT'S AWESOME. THANK YOU, BEN. THANKS FOR SHARING, OKAY? ANYBODY ELSE HAVE ANY COMMENTS OR ANYBODY WANT TO MAKE A MOTION? I'LL MOVE TO ACCEPT. OKAY GO AHEAD. WHY DON'T YOU HAVE DONE TOO MUCH? OKAY SO, UM, BOARD MEMBER SK MILLION MADE THE FIRST MOTION AND BOARD MEMBER WEST IS GOING TO SECOND IT, OKAY? ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION. OKAY ALL IN FAVOR. RAISE YOUR HAND OPPOSED. OKAY PASSES UNANIMOUSLY. ALRIGHT WE[Discuss the Historic Home Recognition Calendar]
WILL MOVE TO THE DISCUSSION ITEMS. ADAM NUMBER 23-0698 DISCUSSED THE HISTORIC HOME RECOGNITION CALENDAR. I BELIEVE THAT IS GOING TO BE LET'S SEE. JUST A DISCUSSION DISCUSSION WILL MAKE A PRESENTATION. YEAH. UM SO WE DON'T HAVE ANY SLIDES TO SHOW ON THIS ONE. BUT AS THE BOARD MEMBERS KNOW THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION CALENDAR REVAMPED VERSION HAS BEEN WRAPPED UP. IT[00:50:06]
HAS GONE TO PRINT. SO WE ARE WAITING TO HEAR WHEN THAT'LL BE BACK, BUT IT'LL SOMETIME IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS, SO WE'LL HAVE IT BY THE END OF THE MONTH. ONCE IT DOES, WE'LL LET ALL Y'ALL KNOW AND WILL HAVE IT OUT, AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY AND IN OTHER PLACES AROUND TOWN, SO IT WILL BE LET THE ADVISER ADVERTISERS KNOW AND STUFF AND I BELIEVE WE ALL LOOKED AT IT ONLINE, SO I JUST WANTED TO SAY I DON'T I DON'T THINK I RESPONDED TO THE EMAIL, BUT I REALLY APPRECIATED THE REARRANGEMENT OF ADS. UM BECAUSE I UNDERSTAND THEY'RE IMPORTANT TO YOU KNOW, BEING ABLE TO PRINT THE CALENDAR. UM BUT I REALLY LOVED THE LESSENED CLUTTER ON THE ACTUAL CALENDAR. I THOUGHT IT LOOKED REALLY BEAUTIFUL. IT WAS VERY CLEAN, AND I KNOW Y'ALL DID NOT HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO DO THIS. AND IT REALLY DOESN'T SHOW IT LOOKS LIKE YOU SPENT A LOT OF TIME WHICH PROBABLY DID ANYHOW, BUT IT REALLY LOOKED VERY NICELY DONE WAS IMPRESSED. I'LL DISCLOSURE WE ACTUALLY HAD THE PRINTER ACTUALLY DID THE LAYOUTS FOR US, SO WE HAD WE HAD CASSIE EVER. CASSIE WHAT IS CASSIE'S LAST NAME IS NOT BURNER. YES. OKAY. IT IS CASSIE WARNER. SHE DID THE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR US WITH HER COMPANY, AND THEN THE PRINTING COMPANY HAD HAD THE OPTION OF LETTING US DO THE LITTLE LAYOUTS WITH THEM. AND SO THAT REALLY THAT REALLY HELPED ABLE TO DO THAT BETTER SOFTWARE AND THINGS AFTER THAT, THAT'S AMAZING. DID WE STAY UNDER THE COST? YOU KNOW, THAT WAS THAT WAS WITH WITH THE BUDGET THAT WE HAD IN THE ADVERTISEMENTS THAT WE HAD. WE WERE ABLE TO. FIT IT ALL IN. WONDERFUL WELL CAME OUT NICE AND I DO AGREE IT LOOKS JUST REALLY LOOKS CLEAN, AND IT'S NOT REALLY PRETTY. THAT SAID THAT ONE'S DONE. THAT MEANS WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE NOMINATIONS COMING IN FOR THE NEXT ONE. AND THEN DO WE WANT TO HAVE NOMINATIONS BE, UM HISTORICALLY, WE HAVE HAD NOMINATIONS FINISHED IN OCTOBER . WE CAN DO THAT, OR WE CAN MOVE IT AND HAVE NOMINATIONS THROUGH A THROUGH DECEMBER OR DIFFERENT PERIOD OF TIME. THAT'S UP TO Y'ALL. THAT WOULD BE GOOD. YEAH, OCTOBER IS COMING UP QUICK.RIGHT? IS THAT A TIMETABLE THAT Y'ALL CAN WORK WITH IF WEEKS AND IT AND WHAT IS WHAT IS KIND OF YOUR BUT YOUR LAST KIND OF WOOD. BUT YOU NEED IT BY DOING IT THE FORMAT THAT WE'RE DOING IT NOW WE HAVE A LOT MORE TIME. OKAY SO , UM, YOU KNOW, WE WE'D PREFER TO BE ABLE TO HAVE EVERYTHING TO THE PRINTERS EARLIER CLOSER TO JULY. SO WE HAVE THAT MEET NEAR THAT THAT EXTRA TIME IN THERE BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO. WE PREFER NOT TO PUSH UP AGAINST OUR SEPTEMBER 30TH DEADLINE, SO IF WE CAN HAVE THE NOMINATIONS IN THERE IN DECEMBER. WE CAN BRING THEM BACK TO Y'ALL IN JANUARY AND VOTE, AND THEN WE CAN MOVE FORWARD WITH GETTING PICTURES AND STUFF LIKE THAT.
AND MAYBE STILL SNEAK IN SOME WINTER PICTURES. OKAY SO IT LOOKS LIKE WE'RE LOOKING AT HAVING THE NOMINATIONS AND BY DECEMBER YEP, AND WE'LL UPDATE, THOUGH, AND WE'LL UPDATE THE WEB PAGE AND FIX THAT ON THERE. SO HOW DO WE ADVERTISE THAT? JUST ON THE ON THE WEB PAGE. WE DIDN'T GET THAT MANY. WE GET JUST ENOUGH LAST YEAR. YEAH, JUST ENOUGH. AND SO WE GOT THAT ON. WE'RE ADVERTISING ON THE WEB PAGE. PRIMARILY, UM BUT, UM WE ARE WORKING ON SOME OTHER WAYS OF GETTING OUT INFORMATION ABOUT EDUCATION, JUST PRINT EDUCATION AND THINGS WITH AND SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING THINGS WITH WITH KIND OF AT LARGE, RATHER FIRST HISTORIC PRESERVATION. AND SO THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS WE CAN HIGHLIGHT. YOU KNOW, WE CAN. WE CAN ADD THAT IN OUR ROTATION. OKAY? ALRIGHT LET'S SEE. SO DO WE. DO WE HAVE ANY GENERAL CITIZEN COMMENTS REGARDING ATOMS THAT ARE NOT ON THE AGENDA? CAN WELL , NO, WE DO NOT. OKAY WHAT ABOUT BOARD MEMBERS OR STAFF ANY
[BOARD AND MANAGER COMMENTS]
FURTHER BUSINESS TO DISCUSS I HAVE SOME MORE UPDATES. I'M JUST TALKING AND TALKING TODAY. MY THROAT GOES, I APOLOGIZE. OKAY LET ME GET MY LIST OUT HERE. SO AT A PREVIOUS BOARD MEETING, WE DISCUSSED TRYING TO DO SOME TRAINING FOR REALTORS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO, UM, MAKE SURE THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF NOT ONLY THE REGULATIONS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD BUT ALSO THE INCENTIVES. WE HOSTED THAT IN AUGUST ON THE 10TH, AND WE HAD EIGHT REALTORS, I BELIEVE AND SO PRETTY GOOD TURNOUT. WE'RE HAPPY TO HAVE THAT AND THEY ALL PARTICIPATED AND REALLY HAVE A LOT OF GOOD QUESTIONS. SO THAT WAS NICE. AND THEN THAT WAS QUICKLY FOLLOWED UP BY OUR ATTENDANCE AT THE PLANNING DEPARTMENTS REGULAR UPDATE WITH THE BOARD OF REALTORS THAT IS RUN THROUGH KIND OF A RECURRING EVENT THAT IS DONE WITH THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT EVERY YEAR.AND SO WE WERE ABLE TO REACH ANOTHER SOMEWHERE OVER THE NUMBER OF 30 REALTORS AT THAT
[00:55:02]
EVENT, SO REALTORS, LENDERS AND THINGS LIKE THAT SO REALLY ABLE TO HELP GET THAT WORD OUT AND MAKE SURE EVERYBODY'S KIND OF AWARE OF WHAT'S GOING ON AND SPREAD THE WORD ON INCENTIVES AND REGULATIONS AND ON THE HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY, OF COURSE, BECAUSE WE WANT TO MAKE SURE WE'RE GETTING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THAT. IN THE REALM OF TOURS. AS YOU KNOW, FOR YEARS, WE HAVE DONE A TOUR OF DOWNTOWN. IT HAD A BRIEF PAUSE DURING COVID, AS ONE MIGHT EXPECT. UM AND THEN WE BROUGHT THEM BACK. WE INTRODUCED THE KIDS TOUR BACK IN 2021. LAST YEAR, WE INTRODUCED THE PHANTOMS AND OUTLAWS TOUR. THIS YEAR, WE INTRODUCED AN AFRICAN AMERICAN FOCUS TOUR IN WHAT WE WERE HOPING TO BE FEBRUARY BUT TURNED OUT TO BE MOSTLY MARCH IN JUNE BECAUSE THE WEATHER IN FEBRUARY WAS NOT CONDUCIVE TO PEOPLE BEING OUTSIDE. UM AND THEN MARCH. WE DID A WOMEN'S HISTORY FOCUSED EVENT, WHICH WE KEEP LEARNING ABOUT ALL THESE NEW WOMEN THAT WE CAN ADD TO THE DOOR. SO THAT'S GOOD. UM AND THEN COMING UP HERE THIS MONTH. WE ARE DOING A LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY VERSION, SO I WILL BE FOCUSING ON SOME LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY THAT IS HERE, RIGHT DOWNTOWN. I AM WORKING ON GETTING SOME INFORMATION FOR YOU FOR THAT PERFECT. THANK YOU, MY MOM. KNOWS A LOT MORE. HISTORY THAN I DO, SO SHE IS DEFINITELY GOING TO BE MIGHT GO TO FOR THAT PERFECT AND THEN AND THOSE FOCUS. THOSE ARE MOSTLY FOCUSED ON DOWNTOWN, SO WE HIGHLIGHT THINGS BECAUSE WE DID THIS A LITTLE BIT WITH THE AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY TOUR WILL HIGHLIGHT THINGS LIKE THE DOUGHTY SCHOOL OR A K A NOWADAYS HOLY FAMILY, BUT WE POINT OUT THAT IT'S NOT QUITE DOWNTOWN, SO WE CAN'T GET YOU THERE, BUT WE CAN SHOW YOU THE GENERAL DIRECTION. AND POINT OUT THAT THERE ARE OTHER TOURS IN THE CITY THAT TAKE A TROLLEY AND TAKE YOU THERE SO WE CAN KIND OF BROADCAST. BOTH OF THOSE YOU HAVE A DATE ON THE LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY. THE FIRST ONE IS GONNA BE TUESDAY, THE 12TH OF SEPTEMBER SEPTEMBER AND THEN THE NEXT ONE WILL BE IT'S IN SEPTEMBER. IT'S MOVED BECAUSE OF OCTOBERFEST, SO I CAN'T RECALL THE DATE OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. IT'S A SATURDAY THAT EXCUSE ME. IT'S USUALLY THE THIRD THAT'S THE NORMAL SATURDAY, BUT THAT'S OCTOBERFEST THIS YEAR, SO I BELIEVE IT'S THE ONE BEFORE THAT 18 OR THE LIKE. THE I HAVE TO LOOK, GET BACK TO YOU ON THAT. I'LL SEND YOU AN EMAIL. AND WHAT TIME DO YOU ALL DO? THE TUESDAY TOURS ARE AT 9 30. WHAT KIND OF ATTENDANCE HAVE YOU HAD? THOSE VARIES WE GET ANYWHERE FROM ONE PERSON LIKE WHEN WE HAD A HOT DAY LAST MONTH. WE HAD LAST SATURDAY LAST MONTH. SATURDAY MEETING WE HAD ONE PERSON, BUT OTHER DAYS WE HAD 18. SO IT JUST LUCK OF THE DRAW, AND WE EVEN HAD A DAY IN JULY WHERE IT WAS A SATURDAY AND IT WAS 106 DEGREES OUTSIDE 105 DEGREES OUTSIDE, AND WE HAD SIX PEOPLE SHOW UP. ALL WERE EITHER FROM TEXAS OR FLORIDA. AND SO THEY WERE LIKE, YEAH, HE DIDN'T BOTHER HIS. WE'RE COOL. WE'RE JUST READY TO GO. AND SO WE GET WATER AT VISIT MCKINNEY AND WE AND SNACKS AND WE TAKE OFF AND GO. ARTISTS SIGNED. DO PEOPLE SIGN UP FOR THOSE? YOU DON'T HAVE TO SIGN UP. MCKINNEY JUST GO TO VISIT MCKINNEY TO CHECK ON THE TIMES AND THEN VISIT MCKINNEY. UM PUSHES IT OUT ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA AND ON NEXT DOOR, TYPICALLY THAT WAY, SO, YEAH. UM AS FOR WE TALKED A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE CEO A MAP THIS YEAR. SO FAR, WE'VE HAD 72 C O A S SO FAR THIS YEAR, AND WE'RE ONLY IN SEPTEMBER. WE'VE HAD WE'LL HAVE TO FIX THIS. NOW WE'VE HAD FOUR MARKERS AWARDED AND WE'VE HAD THREE H AND I ZS AWARDED. UM I BELIEVE THERE'S ONE MORE PENDING COMING DOWN THE PIKE THERE, UM AND THEN OF THE MARKER LEVEL, AND THEN WE HAVE SEVERAL LETTERS OF ELIGIBILITY FOR THE TWOS AND THREES THAT HAVE COME OUT. SO AND WE'VE HAD 14 NEIGHBORHOOD EMPOWERMENT ZONE APPLICATIONS, SO LETTERS OF ELIGIBILITY HAVE BEEN ON 14 OF THOSE, SO IT'S BEEN A BUSY YEAR SO FAR. SO IF YOU SEEK CASSIE RUNNING FOR COFFEE OR A RED BULL, YOU KNOW WHY. SO THAT'S THAT WE TALKED ABOUT THE CALENDAR AND A LITTLE BIT OF AN UPDATE. OUR NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNER HAS LEFT US . SO WE HAVE A NEW POSITION. WE MISS HER. BUT WE HAVE POSTED FOR THAT AGAIN AND THAT POSTING CLOSES. TOMORROW AT FIVE. SO IF YOU KNOW ANYBODY THAT'S INTERESTED THEY HAVE 20. SOME HOURS TO GET BACK TO THAT MATH, SO I THINK THAT'S EVERYTHING I HAD ON MY LIST. OKAY? YEAH. OKAY UM, ANYBODY ELSE? I JUST WANT TO CIRCLE BACK A LITTLE BIT, TOO PAULA HAD MENTIONED IN HER FIRST ANNOUNCEMENTS OR SOMETHING THAT THE HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY IS COMING TO THE EAST SIDE FALL FESTIVAL, SO I'M HELPING ORGANIZE THAT, AND WE'RE REALLY EXCITED BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO HAVE, UM, SOME OF THE PEOPLE FROM THAT, UM CONSULTING FIRM COME IN AND DO ORAL HISTORIES[01:00:02]
WITH RESIDENTS, PEOPLE THAT ARE ATTENDING THE FALL FESTIVAL. AND SO IT WILL BE A REALLY COOL WAY FOR PEOPLE TO, UM TO SPEAK THEIR HISTORIES AND ALSO COME IN AND UNITE WITH THE COMMUNITY. SO I THINK, WELL, I'M HOPING WE'LL GET A REALLY GOOD REACH. UM, FOR THAT SURVEY, OCTOBER 7TH AT THE REC CENTER AT OLD SETTLERS REC CENTER, OKAY? YEP. FIGHTING. I WANTED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT COURSE THEY'RE NOT HERE. BUT DAVID ODELL. AND UM MALLORY HANGS ARE GOING OFF OF OUR HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD, AND WE JUST APPRECIATE THEM SERVING AND WE HATE TO SEE HIM GO. BUT WE'VE GOT JIMMY DON FIRST THAT IS HE SITTING OUT THERE IN THE AUDIENCE, AND I KNOW THAT HE'S GONNA BE HE'S GOING TO JOIN US NEXT MONTH. SO WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU. AND UM AND I'M NOT. THERE'S WE'VE GOT ONE OTHER UM MARCIA, MARCIA , AND SHE'S SHE'S NOT HERE, BUT WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU, JUNIOR. OKAY? COMMENTS EXPRESS APPRECIATION TO THE MEMBERS OF AL AND MALORY HAYNES FOR THEIR WORK AND I KNOW IN PARTICULAR. DURING THIS TIME, MALLORY HAS BEEN RESTORING THE HOUSE UP ON MODEL AND SHE HAS DONE YEOMAN WORK ON THAT, AND I THINK IT'S WORTHY OF OUR RECOGNITION AT SOME POINT IN TIME. AND CERTAINLY AS APPRECIATION WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION FOR ALL OF OUR WORK. YOU HAVE COOKIES THAT WILL EAT HER COOKIES, COOKIES AND WE HAVE A LITTLE GIFT FOR THEM TO SAY YES. OKAY WE'LL GET IT TO THEM. ANYTHING ELSE DO WE HAVE A MOTION TO ADJOURN? MEMBER FOR DALE, SECOND. SECOND OKAY.SECOND COMMUNITY, UM ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION ALL IN FAVOR? RAISE YOUR HANDS. OKAY? ALRIGHT IT IS 6 45. FANTASTIC
