[Update on the Historic Resources Survey (Historic McKinney Survey ’23)]
WILL MOVE ON TO INFORMATION SHARING ITEM NUMBER 2 3 DASH. ITEM NUMBER 23-0892 UPDATE ON THE HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY AND I HAVE STAFF WILL BE MAKING THE PRESENTATION. IS THAT YOU, CASSIE? OKAY. ALL RIGHT. GOOD AFTERNOON. THANK YOU, BETTY. UM SO THIS IS JUST GONNA BE A QUICK UPDATE ON THE HISTORIC MCKINNEY SURVEY. THERE IT GOES. SO JUST AS A REMINDER, THIS IS HICKS AND COMPANY WHO IS CONDUCTING THE SURVEY. AND RIGHT NOW WE'RE STILL DOING THE SURVEY WORK THAT IS WRAPPING UP VERY QUICKLY AS THEY'RE DOING THE DOCUMENTATION OF RESOURCES AND THEN IN EARLY 2024 IS WHEN WE EXPECT TO GET THAT FINAL REPORT. UM SO THIS IS KIND OF THE BIG PIECE OF THE PRESENTATION TONIGHT? JUST AN UPDATED MAP OF WHERE THEY'VE SURVEYED. THE DOTS DO INDICATE THE PROPERTIES THAT HAVE BEEN SURVEYED UP TO OCTOBER 18TH. SO THEY'RE MAKING QUITE A BIT OF HEADWAY. AND THEN I ALSO WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT ON OUR WEBSITE. WE DO HAVE THE HISTORIC MCKINNEY SURVEY PAGE ITSELF. UM WE ARE TRYING TO PUT THE CURRENT SURVEY AREA ON THAT AS WELL AS THE TEAM HAD PRODUCED A SURVEY UPDATE FOR US, WHICH IS ALSO ON THE WEBSITE. AND SO WHAT'S NEXT? THEY'RE CONTINUING THAT FIELDWORK. AND THEN THE REPORT AND THE RECOMMENDATIONS. AND THEN THESE PHOTOS ARE JUST OF THEM OUT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.AND WE ARE STILL ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO FILL OUT THE SURVEY. IF YOU CAN. YOU CAN SCAN THE QR CODE OR GO TO OUR WEBSITE. EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO GET TO OUR SURVEY FOR AND THAT CONCLUDES THE PRESENTATION. YOU GO BACK, IT SAYS REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS. SO WE'RE LOOKING AT WHEN ONCE THAT SURVEY IS COMPLETED DO I AM I UNDERSTANDING THAT. I'M SORRY.
THANK YOU, NINA. UM REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS SO THEY'LL GIVE US A REPORT AND THEY'LL MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS. LIKE DO WE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT KIND OF RECOMMENDATIONS SO, LIKE A RECOMMENDATION COULD BE THAT THIS POCKET HAS A LOT OF ARCHITECTURAL INTEGRITY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THEY COULD RECOMMEND THAT WE DESIGNATE SOMETHING THAT COURT IS KIND OF THING JUST TO LET US KNOW WHAT WHAT'S THE MOST INTACT AREAS LEFT? OKAY? YOU MIGHT HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR, YOU KNOW, I'M I WENT WITH THEM A COUPLE OF DAYS. I JUST DID A COUPLE OF DAYS AND IT WAS REALLY INTERESTING. WE DID, UM, EAST OF HIGHWAY FIVE AND WALKED. CAN YOU HEAR ME? SORRY, NINA. UM WE WALKED, UM, THE NEIGHBORHOODS OVER THERE AND UM. THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DOING IT. THEY ARE SO KNOWLEDGEABLE. ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR HOW TO DO IT, AND, UM, IT WAS IT WAS INTERESTING. I WAS SO GLAD THAT I SAW THE PROCESS AND, UM UM, YOU KNOW, WE TOOK A LOT OF PICTURES AND THAT AND IT WAS KIND OF FUNNY BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT OF CHANGES GOING ON IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD THAT WE WERE IN. AND I THINK THERE WAS SOME CONCERN ABOUT WHAT WE WERE DOING
[00:05:01]
AND BUT MOST EVERYONE WAS VERY NICE AND ASK QUESTIONS AND YOU KNOW, BECAUSE WE WERE OUT THERE TAKING PICTURES OF THEIR HOUSE, AND, UM, BUT IT WAS IT WAS AN IT'S AN INTERESTING PROCESS. I WILL TELL YOU THAT SOME OF THE PEOPLE THAT I TALKED TO THEY WERE SO IMPRESSED. THAT WE WERE DOING THIS PROCESS. THEY WERE, UM, YOU KNOW, SHE SAID THAT THIS WAS A PRETTY SHE WAS IMPRESSED THE CITY HAD WAS DOING IT AND WANTED TO SEE WHAT WE'VE GOT. AND IT WAS. IT WAS GOOD. THEY WERE OUT OF AUSTIN. SO, UH, ANYWAY. I DON'T. I DON'T. ARE THEY STILL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS? I THINK THEY'RE DOWN TO JUST THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS. SORRY THEY WERE OUT A LITTLE BIT. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY OF LAST WEEK, HOPING TO GET THE LAST FEW PIECES DONE BECAUSE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE WRAPPED UP RIGHT ABOUT NOW. AND SO I DON'T KNOW IF THEY'RE STILL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS BECAUSE IT'S JUST DOWN TO THOSE LIKE LAST FEW PROPERTIES THAT THEY'VE GOT TO GET IT. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED, DEFINITELY REACH OUT TO THEM. THEIR EMAIL IS ON OUR WEBSITE.OKAY, YOU CAN EMAIL US THEN WE CAN FORWARD YOU ONTO THEM. UM, JUST TO SEE IF THEY HAVE ANYTHING LEFT. ARE THE OUTREACH EVENTS INTENDED FOR PEOPLE TO FILL OUT THE SURVEY OR TO DISSEMINATE THE INFORMATION FROM THE SO THE OUTREACH EVENTS THAT THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN TO, UM WE'RE JUST TO KIND OF SPREAD INFORMATION SO THAT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT IT'S GOING ON AND WE HAVE ALREADY DONE. LET ME GO BACK. SO THEY WENT TO OCTOBERFEST, AND THEN THEY DECIDE NEIGHBORHOODS FALL FESTIVAL THOSE WERE THERE TO KIND OF BIG OUTRAGES, BUT THEN THEY'LL ALSO AT THE END OF THE SURVEY. WILL PRESENT THEIR FINDINGS TO BOTH. THE BOARD AND CITY COUNCIL. RIGHT? KATHY CAN I ASK AHEAD? WERE THERE ANY LIMITS ON THE AREA? WHAT WAS IT JUST THE H N I Z OR YES, SO IT'S THE ENTIRE HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT AREA IS INCLUSIVE. IT'S NOT JUST A HISTORIC DISTRICT HISTORIC GOVERNMENT. IT'S NOT JUST THE HISTORIC OVERLAY. RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL. YES THEY'RE DOING ANY OF THE STRUCTURES THAT ARE OVER SOME, UH OVER BUILT BEFORE 1975. SO YOU'LL NOTICE. THERE'S SOME POCKETS THAT DON'T HAVE THINGS IN THEM LIKE DOWN NEAR CHAPEL HILL AND VANTAGE PLACE AND THAT THERE'S THEIR NEW SO THEY WOULDN'T THEY WON'T GO DOWN. UM. I WAS GONNA ASK. OH SO THE ONLINE SURVEY THAT, UM THEY SENT OUT. UM HAVE THEY GOTTEN ANY RESPONSES ON THAT? DO YOU KNOW THE LAST TIME I HAD ASKED THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED MANY RESPONSES. UM, BUT I CAN DEFINITELY DOUBLE CHECK WITH THEM AND GIVE YOU AN UPDATE ON HOW MANY RESPONSES THEY'VE RECEIVED. ON THE SURVEY WITH THE . REMEMBER THAT THING IS THAT MAKES YOUR PHONE GO TO THE WEBSITE. ARE THEY? YOU ARE CONE. THANK YOU. THAT'S REALLY HARD GETTING OLD. UM AND I'M GONNA LONG DAY. SO. SO IT SAYS, YOUR HISTORIES OF BUILDING SPACES ARE THEY LOOKING FOR? YOU KNOW IF YOU OWN THE HOME THAT YOU SHOULD PROVIDE SOME INFORMATION, OR IF YOU HAVE ANECDOTAL INFORMATION ON VARIOUS STRUCTURES IN AND AROUND, THAT'S WHAT ANYTHING THEY CAN COLLECT ANYTHING THAT THEY CAN COLLECT WOULD BE USEFUL TO THEM. SO IF YOU KNOW THE HISTORY OF YOUR OWN HOME IF YOU KNOW, NEIGHBOR'S HOMES IF YOU'VE LIVED SOMEWHERE ELSE AROUND THE CITY UM ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THEY'RE HAPPY TO COLLECT HAVE ACCESS TO ALL OF THE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT'S COME BEFORE. THE CITY OF THE BABY. SO THEY HAVE ALL THAT INFORMATION.
SO IF SOMEBODY HAS A HISTORIC DESIGNATION, AND THEY'VE GOT THE INFORMATION, YES, THEY'VE GOT THE MARKER INFORMATION FROM US ANY INFORMATION THAT WE HAD WE SHARED WITH THEM. YOU KNOW HOW WHEN THEY'RE GONNA STOP GATHERING INFORMATION. WHAT'S THE DEADLINE? AS FAR AS. I'M NOT SURE WHAT THAT DEADLINE IS, I WOULD SAY IT'S COMING SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. JUST BECAUSE THEY DO NEED TO WRAP UP. SO THAT THEY CAN PRODUCE THAT FINAL REPORT. I WOULD SAY IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU WANT TO SHARE GET IT IN SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. YEAH, THEY'RE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO HAVE US THE DRAFT REPORT CLOSER TO THE END OF LIKE IN DECEMBER, AND SO THE SOONER WE CAN GET STUFF TO THEM, THE BETTER. SO LIKE, SHE SAID, IF IT'S NOT SOMETHING THAT ALREADY HAVE THEY HAVE THE MARKERS AND THINKS THEY HAVE THE BABY MINUTES ACCESS TO THAT, AT LEAST THAT'S ALL. MAYBE WE CAN HAVE NINA TALK TO HIM FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD TIME. SHE'S PROBABLY GOT MORE INFORMATION, BUT SHE CAN GIVE HIM A CALL. WELL WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE REPORT. YES SO THERE ARE ONCE THE REPORTS READY, WE'LL BRING IT FORWARD. OKAY? OKAY ANY ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, COMMENTS? ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, CASSIE. THANKS,
[00:10:07]
CASSIE. OKAY DO WE HAVE ANY PUBLIC COMMENTS ON THE NON PUBLIC HEARING AGENDA ITEMS?[CONSENT ITEMS]
COMMENTS NO. OKAY WE'RE GOING TO MOVE ON TO THE CONSENT AGENDA. ITEM NUMBER 23-0893 MINUTES OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ADVISORY BOARD REGULAR MEETING OF OCTOBER THE 5TH 2023.HOPEFULLY WE'VE ALL LOOKED AT IT AND DO I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA? NOW I'M GONNA FIGURE OUT HOW TO WORK. THIS MOVED OKAY. THANK BOARD MEMBER MCWILLIAMS. LET'S SEE WHAT YOUR SECOND HELP. I'M TRYING TO SEE. I'M SORRY. OKAY SO THERE'S A COMMOTION HAPPENED AND THEN OKAY? OKAY WELL, BECAUSE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T MOTION , SO ONE OF THEM WOULD HAVE EMOTION. OKAY, SO DID YOU DO IT? YES OKAY, SO THEN YOU CAN CALL FOR THIS. OKAY NOW, IS THERE A SECOND? OKAY SECOND BAD BOARD MEMBER PENCE ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION? SO OKAY, SO LET'S PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE, OKAY? JUST SO YOU KNOW, JOHANNA ACTUALLY BEAT HIM TO THE BUTTON ON SECOND. UH OH. SO JOHANNA AS THAT, I THINK, RESPECTFULLY, TOM, CUT ME OFF. OKAY SORRY. MY FINGER ON THE BUDGET IS OUR FIRST TIME TO USE THIS. SO WE'RE LEARNING AS WE OKAY, SO THE MOTION PASSES. AND WE'RE GOING TO MOVE TO THE DISCUSSION ITEMS. ADAM NUMBER 23-0894. DISCUSS THE
[Discuss the importance of maintenance on historic properties and receive an update on incentives and resources]
IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE ON HISTORIC PROPERTIES AND RECEIVING UPDATE ON INCENTIVES AND RESOURCES. THANK YOU, PAULA. AFTER GOOD EVENING. IT IS EVENING. I DIDN'T SAY MORNING, SO THAT'S THAT'S PROGRESS. SO THIS IS JUST ANOTHER PART OF OUR TRAINING SERIES LAST MONTH, WE DID SOME OF THOSE INTERACTIVE WEB TOOLS, SO IF YOU DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO PLAY WITH THEM LAST MONTH THERE IN THE AGENDA ITEMS FROM LAST MONTH ARE THE LITTLE STEP BY STEPS CAN PLAY WITH HIM THIS MONTH. WE'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT MAINTENANCE, AND THAT'S GOING TO LEAD US INTO A LITTLE BIT OF AN UPDATE ON THE H N I Z. AND OUR OTHER MAINTENANCE RELATED PROJECTS OR PROGRAMS IN THE PRESERVATION CATEGORY. SO WHY IS MAINTENANCE IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE IS PRESERVATION AND PRESERVATION IS MAINTENANCE. IN THIS CASE, TEXAS HISTORIC COMMISSION SAID IT BUT THEY'RE NOT ALONE. LOTS OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SAID IT. MAINTENANCE IS SOMETHING THAT IS REQUIRED ON EVERY HOUSE. WHETHER OR NOT YOU'RE GOING TO PRESERVE IT OR NOT TO KEEP IT STANDING UP. I REMEMBER AS A KID. EVERY FOURTH OF JULY. THE FAMILY WOULD GET TOGETHER AND HAVE A BIG BARBECUE AT MY GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE WHILE EVERYBODY PAINTED THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE EVERY FOURTH OF JULY.IT WAS A WHITE HOUSE, BUT YOU HAD TO PAINT IT EVERY YEAR. SO YOU KNOW, IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS. YOU'VE GOT TO MAINTAIN THINGS ALL THE TIME. SO WE'RE GOING TO GO THROUGH TODAY AND LOOK AT SOME OF THOSE BIG TICKET MAINTENANCE ITEMS AND JUST SOME KIND OF ADVICE AND GUIDELINES FOR WHAT THINGS TO CHECK AND LOOK AT THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR STANDARDS FOR REHABILITATION. UM THAT WE USE AS OUR GUIDELINES WHEN WE'RE REVIEWING C O S, AND THEY HAVE A BIG, THICK BOOK OF GUIDELINES AND IT TALKS A LOT ABOUT SOME OF THE DIFFERENT THINGS TO LOOK AT.
AND SOME OF THE RECOMMENDED BEST PRACTICES. WE'LL TOUCH ON THAT A LITTLE BIT HERE, BUT THAT IS LINKED IN THE END OF THIS PRESENTATION AND ON OUR WEBSITE. IF YOU WANT TO GO GET REALLY INTO IT AND READ ALL WHAT IS IT 200 PAGES? FEEL FREE. AND THEN THERE'S ALSO SOME OTHER THINGS.
WE'LL TALK ABOUT HIS RESOURCES AT THE END. SO THIS IS A CLIP OF IT'S CALLED THE HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET, OUR CODE SERVICES DEPARTMENT PUT TOGETHER LAST YEAR WITH THE HELP OF OUR COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT, A BOOKLET CALLED THE GOOD NEIGHBOR GUIDE THAT YOU CAN GET FROM CODE SERVICES OR ONLINE AT THE CITY'S WEBSITE, AND IN ONE OF THE THINGS THEY PUT IN, THERE WAS THEIR HOME INSPECTIONS CHECKLIST THE THINGS TO CHECK ON YOUR HOME EVERY YEAR TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE DOING THE MAINTENANCE YOU NEED TO DO SO I USE THEIR GRAPHIC BECAUSE THEY COVERED SO MANY OF THE THINGS THAT WE WOULD TALK ABOUT TODAY. UM BASICALLY WITH MAINTENANCE ITEMS, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS, MAINTENANCE AND STUFF YOU GENERALLY DO IN A CYCLICAL, CYCLICAL NATURE. YOU DO IT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.
PROBABLY THE EASIEST ONE TO THINK OF IS CHANGING YOUR AIR FILTERS IN YOUR HOUSE, RIGHT? YOU GENERALLY HAVE TO DO THEM EVERY MONTH. IF YOU GET THE EXPENSIVE FILTERS, YOU MIGHT GET 90 DAYS OUT OF IT AND GET THREE MONTHS, BUT THAT'S ONE OF THOSE CYCLICAL MAINTENANCE THINGS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, THEY'LL BE A HAILSTORM OR WINDSTORM. AND SO THEN YOU'LL BE STUCK DOING OR A SNOWMAGEDDON OR FREEZE IT FREEZE DAY AND YOU HAVE TO BE STUCK WITH BIG REPAIRS. BUT THE
[00:15:02]
IDEA IS THAT IF YOU DO MAINTENANCE OVER TIME. YOU CAN LIMIT THOSE REPAIRS A LITTLE BIT. THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN SETTING A SCHEDULE TWO MAIN DO YOUR MAINTENANCE WHAT THINGS NEED TO BE DONE SEASONALLY. CHECKING YOUR GUTTERS, CHECKING YOUR PIPES, DIFFERENT THINGS.WHAT THE BUDGET IS WHAT THE LIFE OF THE PRODUCT IS, UM, IF THERE'S ANY REQUIREMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH INCENTIVES YOU HAVE, FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU HAVE AN H AND IZ INCENTIVE, WE DO AN ANNUAL INSPECTION EVERY JANUARY. SO IF YOU KNOW YOU HAVE AN ANCIENT ISAIAH INSPECTION, AND YOU DON'T WANT US TO SEND YOU A NOTE THAT SAYS, HEY, YOU NEED TO PAINT YOUR HOUSE. OR YOU HAVE SOME SPOTS IN YOUR HOUSE. THAT MAY NEED SOME PAINT. WE WILL DO THAT IN JANUARY, SO THAT GIVES YOU A KIND OF HEADS UP. OH, IT'S COMING UP IN JANUARY. LET ME GO PAINT THAT SPOT WHERE THE TREE RUSHED OFF ALL THE PAINT. YOU CAN, YOU KNOW, SET THAT INTO YOUR SCHEDULE. AND THEN IF YOU NEED HELP GET A SKILLED CRAFTSMAN. IF THERE'S SOME, YOU KNOW, MAINTENANCE ITEM THAT YOU CAN'T DO IF YOU HAVE TO SERVICE YOUR EVERY SO MANY YEARS. GENERALLY PEOPLE GET AN A C GUIDE TO SERVICE THEIR THEIR FURNACE. THINGS LIKE THAT. AND THEN IF YOU NEED ECONOMIC INCENTIVE IS SENT US ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE. EXCUSE ME. GO YOU KNOW, FIND THAT WHERE YOU CAN, UM AND THEN IF YOU'RE IF YOU HAVE THE PLEASURE OF OWNING A HISTORIC HOME SOMETIMES YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY NEED TO CONSULT WITH THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION CONSULTANT OR HISTORIC PRESERVATION ARCHITECT OR LOOK THROUGH THAT BIG, THICK BOOK I WAS TALKING ABOUT. TO LOOK AT SOME OF THE BEST PRACTICES AND SOME OF THE OTHER RESOURCES WE'LL TALK ABOUT AT THE END. CAN I ASK YOU SOMETHING WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT HN IZ INSPECTIONS. SO THE SID WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE PART OF THE REQUIREMENT OF THE PROGRAM IS THAT WE WILL DO AN ANNUAL INSPECTION EVERY YEAR AND WHAT THAT MEANS IS KATHY AND OR I OR WHOEVER HAPPENS TO BE US AT THAT POINT IN TIME WILL DRIVE AROUND EVERY JANUARY AND TAKE A PICTURE OF ALL THE HOUSES IN THE PROGRAM. AND TO SEE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. AND SO GENERALLY, THEY DON'T HEAR ANYTHING FROM US . BUT IF THERE'S SOMETHING THAT WE SEE SOMETIMES IT'S STUFF YOU DON'T EVEN SEE BECAUSE OF WHERE IT IS. YOU KNOW WHEN YOU YOU KNOW, YOU WALK IN YOUR BACK DOOR EVERY DAY, AND IT'S ON THE FRONT OF YOUR ROOF. AND SO YOU NEVER SEE IT. AND SO WE GENERALLY SEND A LETTER AND SAY, HEY, HEADS UP. YOU MIGHT WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THIS BEFORE. IT'S JUST YOU LOOKING AT IT. YOU DON'T GET OUT, GET OUT AND WALK AROUND OR ANYTHING ELSE. WE JUST DRIVE BY. TAKE A PICTURE. OKAY WRITE DOWN ALL THE ADDRESS. CHECK OFF.
ACTUALLY ALL THE ADDRESSES. MAKE SURE WE CHECK THEM ALL ALL THE ONES THAT HAVE AN AGENT. I SEE.
AS I MENTIONED BEST PRACTICES IN HISTORIC PRESERVATION. THERE ARE LOTS OF THEM. THIS IS THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIORS STANDARD FOR THE TREATMENT OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES WITH GUIDELINES FOR PRESERVING, REHABILITATING, RESTORING RECONSTRUCTING HISTORIC BUILDINGS. THIS IS THAT BIG, THICK PUBLICATION THAT I MENTIONED. YOU CAN TAKE A LOOK.
BROWSE THROUGH THAT. THERE'S UM GENERAL THE GENERAL BEST PRACTICES WHEN REPAIRING OR DOING MAINTENANCE ON HISTORIC PROPERTIES. IS THAT ANY TIME YOU HAVE TO REPAIR SOMETHING THAT YOU REPAIR WITHIN KIND MATERIALS IN KIND USUALLY MEANS THE SAME COLOR TO, FOR EXAMPLE, I WAS AS A CONFERENCE TODAY AND SOMEBODY WAS TALKING ABOUT. SOMETIMES PEOPLE MISUNDERSTAND IN KIND. IF YOU'RE LOOKING AT THIS PICTURE, RIGHT HERE IN KIND WOULD MEAN STONE. THAT'S ORANGE. YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO PUT HOT PINK STONE. ON THAT, BECAUSE THAT WOULDN'T BE AN IN KIND REPAIR IF YOU HAD A CHANGE ONE OF THOSE STONES IN THERE RIGHT BECAUSE THAT WOULDN'T QUITE BE IN KIND.
BUT YOU KNOW YOU CAN WORK WITH THAT. GENERALLY WE ASKED TO AVOID REMOVING HISTORIC ELEMENTS OR COVERING THEM UP. UM AND IF IN DOUBT, ASK FOR HELP. SO LOOKING AT SOME OF THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS WE BROKE THIS SLIDE PRESENTATION UP WITH KIND OF GENERAL ELEMENTS OF A HOUSE THAT YOU WOULD LOOK AT. NOT UNLIKE THOSE CHECKLISTS THAT WE HAVE FOR ECOWAS. THAT'S A WINDOWS, DOORS, ROOFS, THINGS LIKE THAT. THIS KIND OF FOLLOWS THAT GUIDE LINE FROM THE SECRETARIES AS WELL AND SO WINDOWS AND DOORS, WINDOWS AND DOORS GET USED A LOT GENERALLY, NOT SO MUCH TODAY AS WE HAVE A C SO A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T OPEN THEIR WINDOWS AS MUCH AS THEY USED TO. BUT THINGS TO CHECK ON WINDOWS AND DOORS WEATHERSTRIPPING. THAT'S PROBABLY THE BIGGEST AND EASIEST ONE TO CHECK BECAUSE IT LETS AIR AND WATER IN AND OUT OF YOUR HOUSE WHEN YOU DON'T WANT IT TO COME IN AND OUT, AND IT'S USUALLY PRETTY EASY TO CHANGE WITH WEATHER STRIPPING, BECAUSE GENERALLY IT'S STICK ON NOWADAYS. CHECK THE FUNCTION.
MAKE SURE THE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE THE WINDOWS. CHECK THE SASH RAILS IN THE STYLES, ALL THE HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL PIECES OF YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY'RE STILL TOGETHER THAT THEY'RE SITTING IN THE WALL STRAIGHT THAT THEY'RE NOT DECAYING OR MAYBE ROTTING AWAY BECAUSE THEY'RE GETTING SOME WATER DAMAGE OR BUG DAMAGE. CHECK YOUR HARDWARE TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS IF YOUR PRODUCT HAS, OR YOUR PARTICULAR ELEMENT HAS BUG DAMAGE, GET A. YOU KNOW A SPECIALIST OUT THERE AND I HELP YOU WITH THAT. YOU CAN SEE. THESE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF
[00:20:05]
PROBLEM CHILDREN, WINDOWS AND DOORS. THAT DOOR IS A LITTLE OFF KILTER. UM IT'S A LITTLE CROOKED IN ITS SPACE, SO IT PROBABLY NEEDS A LITTLE ADJUSTMENT. AND THAT DOOR PROBABLY ACTUALLY BE IN THE WINDOW HAS SOME SOME WATER INTRUSION THERE. SOMETIMES THAT'S AS SIMPLE AS YOU KNOW, RE GLAZING. THE WINDOW FRAME JUST DEPENDS ON HOW EXTENSIVE THE DAMAGE IS. AND YOU GOTTA LOOK AT IT. PAINT CHECK FOR SPOTS WHERE THE PAINT IS CRACKING, PEELING, CHIPPING BUBBLING. WHERE THERE IS TOO MUCH PAINT. MAYBE AND YOU HAVE TO STRIP SOME OFF SOMETIMES . YOU KNOW, AS YOU PAINT THESE BUILDINGS ARE 100 140 YEARS OLD. THEY MAY HAVE 567 LAYERS PAINT ON THEM, DEPENDING ON HOW IT'S DONE, SO SOMETIMES THERE'S A LITTLE TOO MUCH PAIN TO GET THINGS TO FUNCTION. CHECK THE TYPE OF PAINT IF YOU'RE GOING TO REPAINT, ALWAYS BE CAREFUL WITH THE TYPE THAT YOU'RE PUTTING ON TOP OF THE PAINT ON TOP OF THE PAINT THAT YOU HAVE, BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PAINT THAT NEW PAINT WON'T ALWAYS STICK. SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE SEEN THE TIKTOK'S WHERE PEOPLE GO IN AND PAINT THE HOUSE AND THEN THEY CAN GRAB ONE CORNER AND DE LAMINATE A WHOLE WALL BECAUSE THAT NEW LATEX PAINT JUST PEELS RIGHT OFF THAT OIL BASED PAINT. SO ALWAYS BE CAREFUL WITH THAT. YOU MAY HAVE TO PUT SOME PRIMERS. THEIR TIKTOK IS GREAT FOR VIDEOS OF WHAT NOT TO DO. UM AND THEN CONSIDER APPROPRIATE COLORS. IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE WITH GRAFFITI, THERE IS THIS DOCUMENT CALLED THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE PRESERVATION BRIEF. THERE'S SOMEWHERE AROUND 40 OF THEM, BUT THE ONE THAT'S CALLED 38 PRESERVATION BE 38 SPECIFICALLY TALKS ABOUT SOME STRATEGIES FOR REMOVING GRAFFITI. BEFOREHAND WE'LL TALK A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THOSE BRIEFS AT THE END. MASONRY AND MORTAR. MASONRY IS GENERALLY STONE OR BRICK, BUT IT UM IT THAT IT NEEDS HELP EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, SOMETIMES THE MORTAR NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. AS YOU CAN SEE, IN SOME CASES, IT WASHES AWAY ALMOST COMPLETELY. IF THE MORTAR ISN'T THERE, THE BRICK WON'T NECESSARILY STAY THERE, EITHER. SO IT'S GENERALLY GOOD TO CHECK ON YOUR BIRTH YOUR MORTAR AND MAKE SURE IT'S REAPPOINTED. BUT YOU WANT TO CONSIDER WHAT KIND OF MORE DO YOU HAVE? AND HOW TO HOW TO PUT IT BACK, BECAUSE IF YOU PUT A MORTAR THAT'S STRONGER THAN THE BRICK MORTAR WILL NOT FAIL AND THEIR BRICK WILL AND IT'S EASIER TO FIX FAILED MORTAR THAN FAILED BRICK, SO THAT'S SOMETHING YOU WANT TO BE CAREFUL OF, AND THAT'S ONE OF THOSE TIMES WHEN YOU MAY HAVE TO GET A SPECIALIST OUT THERE TO HELP YOU PICK THE RIGHT MORTAR TO REPAIR IT WITH BECAUSE THE GENERAL MORTAR THAT YOU GET FROM HOME DEPOT IS GENERALLY A LITTLE STRONGER THAN HISTORIC MORTAR. DIFFERENT, DIFFERENT TYPE OF MORTAR. AND THEN LOOK FOR SPOTS WHERE YOUR BRAKES ARE DECAYING. A WHOLE LOT OF BRICKS IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW BRICKS ARE CONSTRUCTED, THEY ARE GIANT BLOCKS OF CLAY THAT ARE HEATED UP REALLY HOT AND LEFT TO CURE, AND SO THEY GET A KIND OF THICK OUTSIDE LAYER AND IF THAT OUTSIDE LAYER IS DAMAGED, THE INSIDE LAYERS OF BRICK WILL JUST RETURN TO MUD. OVER TIME, AND THAT CAN DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE OF THE BREAK. UM, AND THE STRUCTURE THAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE PART OF AND HOLDING UP, SO YOU ALWAYS WANT TO CHECK ON THAT THAT NATIONAL PARK SERVICE BRIEF SECTION A BOOK OR OF PUBLICATIONS HAS A NUMBER OF ITEMS THAT TALK ABOUT MASONRY AND, UM, AND BRICKS AND STUCCO. YOU CAN SEE FROM ME THIS LIST THAT THERE'S AT LEAST FIVE AND THOSE ARE ONES THAT KIND OF SPECIFICALLY ADDRESS IT SO THESE ARE JUST SOME PLACES TO GET HELP. HEY PAULA. SURE DO YOU? IS IT OKAY TO ASK QUESTIONS? WHY DON'T ASK IT NOW I'M GONNA GET MY QUESTION AS FAR AS PAINTING BRICK. IN THE, UH, TELL ME, SO TELL ME WHAT OUR APPROACHES ON BECAUSE I KNOW THAT WE'RE SEEING THAT SO IN THE HISTORIC RESIDENTIAL AREA, WE DON'T HAVE PURVIEW OVER PAINT IN THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT WEEKEND. WE CAN ADDRESS PAINT BUT IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREA WE DON'T SO IF YOU DECIDE TO PAINT YOUR BRICKHOUSE YOU CAN DO THAT. THE CHALLENGE WITH THAT IS BRICK HAS THAT THAT EDGE ON IT? THAT OLD THAT OLD SCHOOL BRICK HAS AN EDGE ON IT. AND IF YOU PUT PAINT ON IT, THE PAINT CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEGRADATION OF THE BRICK OVER TIME. UM WATER CAN GET STUCK BEHIND IT. UM BRICK LIKES TO BREATHE KIND OF LIKE A SPONGE. AND SO WHEN YOU PUT PAINT THE WRONG KINDS OF PAINT ON IT, IT CAN KEEP THAT WATER TRAPPED IN THERE. AND SO IF YOU GET ANY WATER THAT NATURALLY IS TRYING TO TRANSLATE OUT OF THE BRICK, IT WON'T SO THAT CAN BE A CHALLENGE. YOU'LL SEE A NUMBER OF PROPERTIES THAT WE HAVE SPECIFICALLY DOWNTOWN THAT HAVE PAINT ON THEM. THEIR OLD BUILDINGS. MOST OF THEM HAVE PAINT ON THEM BECAUSE THEY'VE HAD PAINT ON THEM SO MUCH THAT YOU JUST HAVE TO PUT PAINT BACK. SO OR YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE BRICK, UM AND OR TURN THE BRICK[00:25:06]
AROUND OR DO ALL SORTS OF DIFFERENT THINGS. SO THAT'S NOW THAT'S DIFFERENT THAN MODERN HOMES. MODERN BRICK YOU CAN GET MODERN BRICK THAT'S SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO BE PAINTED, BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE AGE OF THE BRICK THAT YOU HAVE AND HOW IT WAS ACTUALLY CONSTRUCTED. AND FIRED IN THE TEMPERATURES AND ALL THE SCIENCES STUFF. SO ANYTHING ELSE ON THIS ONE. NO OKAY. YEAH UM, WOULD MEDDLE IN SYNTHETICS, SO WE SEE THESE A LOT IN THE SIGHTINGS? UM SIGHTINGS, CROWN MOLDINGS, PARAPET TOPS, PARAPET CAPS. UM WHAT IS A VERY COMMON MATERIAL HERE? WE HAVE A LOT OF METAL SKIRTING AROUND OUR BUILDING SYNTHETICS WOULD BE ANYTHING FROM ASBESTOS SHINGLES OR ASBESTOS SIDING THAT WE'RE REALLY COMMON IN THE FORTIES AND FIFTIES TO FIBER CEMENT SIGHTINGS LIKE WE SEE NOW. OR, UM, IT'S L AND P IS THE BRAND, BUT IT'S A IT'S A LAMINATED PARTICLEBOARD TYPE, CITING THAT HAS EDGES IN IT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE IT'S UM HORIZONTAL LAP SIDING, SO THOSE ARE ALL SYNTHETIC TYPES OF SIDING. AND SO THEY KIND OF THE SAME THINGS.LOOK FOR INSECT DAMAGE. LOOK FOR WATER DAMAGE. LOOK FOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE IF IT'S BROKEN OR CHIPPING, UM IF IT'S STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, THERE COULD BE BROKEN PIECES THAT COULD JUST BE DENSE OR THINGS MAY BE SHIFTED. AND SO IF THINGS SHIFTED, THERE COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE INVOLVED WITH THAT SHIFTING, SO ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THOSE AND SEE WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOUR SPACE. CHECK FOR DAMAGED PAINT AND COMPROMISED CODINGS. UM IF YOU'VE GOT METAL MATERIALS AND YOU'VE GOT AND IT'S PAINTED AND THE PAINT IS DAMAGED, THEN YOU MIGHT END UP WITH RUSTED PAINT, RUSTED METAL AND THEN RUSTED METAL WOULD BE WORSE THAN JUST NOT PAINTED. BECAUSE THEN YOU START TO ERODE. CORRODE THE METAL, SO ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE THINGS. UM AND OF COURSE, CHECK FOR YOUR MISSING OR SHRUNKEN SEALANTS SEALANTS ONLY LAST SO LONG, UM THEY'RE KIND OF LIKE ICING ON A CAKE RIGHT? IT KEEPS EVERYTHING IN THE CAKE FOR AWHILE. BUT ONCE YOU KNOW, AFTER A WHILE THAT I THINK IT'S A LITTLE CRUSTY, AND IT CHIPS OFF AND THEN THE CAKE DRIES OUT. AND SO IT'S THE SAME IDEA. YOU'VE GOT TO REPLACE IT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE TO KEEP IT EVERYTHING INSIDE THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO. ROOFS GUTTERS, DOWNSPOUTS LOTS OF THINGS TO CHECK ON ROOFS AND GUTTERS. YOU'VE GOT THE ALL THE PROJECTIONS THAT POP OUT OF THE ROOF, ALL THE LITTLE VENT STACKS AND VENT HOLES IN THE LITTLE FLASHING THAT GO AROUND THEM.
THOSE COULD GET CURLED UP ON THE EDGES AND WATER CAN GET IN. A LITTLE CRITTERS IF YOU HAVE WOODEN ROOFS LIKE TO CHEW ON THE SHINGLES, THAT CAN BE A PROBLEM. YOU ALWAYS WANT TO CHECK THOSE CHECK FOR A CLOGGED UP GUTTERS OR LEAKS AND DAMAGE IN YOUR GUTTERS, BECAUSE IF IT'S NOT COMING DOWN THE GUTTER, IT'S PULLING SOMEWHERE ELSE, EITHER AGAINST THE SIDE OF YOUR HOUSE OR UP ON YOUR ROOF OR JUST MAKING A BIG DIVOT IN THE CORNER, THE BOTTOM WHERE IT'S FALLING OFF THE ROOF, SO CHECK ON THOSE BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE SURE IT'S GOING WATER'S GOING WHERE IT NEEDS TO GO. CHECK FOR BIRDS AND VERMIN. THINGS THAT MIGHT WANT TO FIND A NICE WARM SPOT, MAKING THEIR WAY INTO YOUR HOUSE OR INTO YOUR ROOFS. THEY CAN BE A CHALLENGE THIS PICTURE THAT YOU SEE DOWN HERE THAT'S VERY GREEN. THAT IS NOT FROM TEXAS. THAT IS FROM THE NORTH.
THAT IS FROM MARYLAND. SO IT'S A VERY MOSSY HUMIDITY, HUMID SPOT THERE. WE DON'T HAVE AS MUCH OF THAT AROUND HERE, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET DEBRIS ON EURONEWS. AND THEN CHECK FOR TRUSSES AND BRACKETS IN THE DIFFERENT MEMBERS THAT YOU HAVE UP IN YOUR HOUSE. MAKE SURE THEY'RE NOT SHIFTING OR FALLING OR TWEAKING OR ANYTHING. FOUNDATIONS SOME OF YOU MAY RECOGNIZE THE PICTURE IN THE UPPER LEFT. YOU SAW IT LAST YEAR WITH A C O A SO FOUNDATIONS CAN CRACK DEPENDS ON IF THERE IT COULD. IT COULD HAVE LOTS OF REASONS FOR WHY YOUR FOUNDATION IS CRACKING. THIS IS NORTH TEXAS. WE ARE NOTORIOUS FOR HAVING SHIFTING SOILS AND PROBLEMATIC FOUNDATIONS. EITHER IT'S TOO WET OR TOO DRY OR ANY COMBINATION THEREOF. AND SO ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THAT. AGAIN LOOK FOR SIGNS OF BIRDS AND VERMIN NESTING. WE HAVE A LOT OF HOUSES THAT ARE UP RAISED UP OFF THE GROUND. AND SO IF YOU'RE SKIRTING AROUND YOUR HOUSE GETS COMPROMISED, YOU MAY HAVE EXTRA RESIDENTS THAT AREN'T PAYING RENT. CONTRIBUTING IN ANY POSITIVE WAY. UM SO YOU WANT TO CHECK FOR THAT? AND THEN LANDSCAPING. WE ALL LOVE OUR PLANTS. BUT SOMETIMES THEY JUST GET A LITTLE TOO AFFECTIONATE WITH THE HOUSE AND THEN WE END UP WITH DAMAGE SINGLES OR DAMAGED PAINT. SO OR CRITTERS, JUST HAVING EXTRA PATH AND YOU CAN SEE IN THIS ONE. THE SQUIRREL MAY HAVE USED THE TREE TO GET UP ON THE TOP OF THE HOUSE UP THERE. IT WAS AN ADORABLE PICTURE OF THIS WORLD, BUT, UM, WE DON'T WANT HIM
[00:30:04]
INSIDE. JUST OUTSIDE IS FINE. SO I CHECKED FOR THAT CHECK FOR DAMAGE LIMBS. IF YOU HAVE A BIG TREE AND THE LIMB IS DAMAGED, AND IT FALLS, YOU MAY HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM. YOU WANT TO GET THE DAMAGE BEFORE IT MAKES A BIGGER HOLE IN YOUR HOUSE OR A BIGGER HOLE IN YOUR TREE? CHECK FOR DRAINAGE AND THEN CHECK IF WATER IS PONDING IN PLACES IT SHOULDN'T BE POUNDING. OKAY SO THOSE ARE SOME BASIC THINGS TO CHECK WITH MAINTENANCE OF YOUR HOUSE. I'M SURE THERE'S LOTS MORE. I DID NOT GO INTO THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE. I DIDN'T TALK ABOUT PIPES. I DIDN'T TALK ABOUT A C. THOSE ARE ALL IMPORTANT THINGS. IF YOU HAVE TOO MUCH A C IN YOUR OLD HOUSE, THEN YOU'RE GOING TO GET MOLD. EVERYTHING ELSE. ALWAYS WANT TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE ALL THAT'S BALANCED. GET A LICENSED CONTRACTOR OUT THERE TO CHECK THAT IF YOU NEED TO BUT HOW DOES THAT PLAY INTO OUR PROGRAMS HERE IN MCKINNEY, ASIDE FROM WE WANT TO PRESERVE AS MANY HOUSES AS WE CAN. WE STARTED BACK IN 2008, AS MOST OF YOU ALL KNOW A PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO MAINTAIN THEIR HOMES, AND THAT WAS THE HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT ZONE INCENTIVE PROGRAM. THAT TAX INCENTIVE PROGRAM THAT Y'ALL SEE CASES FOR EVERY MONTH OR SO, UM, WITH PEOPLE COMING AND ASK HIM TO GET A TAX INCENTIVE ON THEIR HOUSE. UM THAT TAX INCENTIVE, AS YOU KNOW, IS AVAILABLE TO PROPERTIES WITHIN THE HISTORICALLY HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT ZONE, THIS BLUE AREA ON THE MAP, THE SAME AREA THAT'S BEING SURVEYED. UM WE DID ESTABLISH IT IN 2007, THE FIRST HOUSES THAT WERE AWARDED FOR 2008. WE HAD A BIG UPDATE LAST YEAR AND 2022 YOU CAN SEE THE MAP THAT'S UP HERE. THIS IS THE NEW AND UPDATED MAP. UM, AND SO THESE REPRESENT THE 139 PROPERTIES THAT OVER TIME HAVE HAD, UM AGENT DISEASE OF SOME TYPE, WHERE THERE WAS A LEVEL ONE. LEVEL TWO OR LEVEL THREE. ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. YOU CAN SEE MOST OF THOSE ARE STILL IN THE HISTORIC AREA. WE BRANCHED OUT A LITTLE. WE HAVE A FEW OUTSIDE, BUT MOST OF THEM ARE THERE. ONE OF THOSE ONE OF THE CAVEATS WITH THAT PROGRAM IS COUNCIL IS ONLY WILLING TO FOREGO ASSORTED AMOUNT OF TAXES EVERY EVERY YEAR WITH THESE TAX INCENTIVES AT THE BEGINNING, WE WERE AT A REALLY TINY LITTLE NUMBER OF LIKE $50,000 AND 50,000 OR SO AND THEN WE UPPED IT A LITTLE BIT. AND THEN WE DID A LITTLE BIT MORE. AND THEN IN 2022, WE DOUBLED IT. 2022 WE WENT FROM 250 TO 500,000. THAT WAS BECAUSE WE HAVE RIDING RISING PROPERTY VALUES AND WE HAVE MORE PROPERTIES INVOLVED IN IT, AND WE WANT TO ENCOURAGE OTHER AREAS OTHER HOMES IN THE AREA TO CONTRIBUTE AND SO COUNCIL RAISED IT TO $500,000. AT PRESENT, WE'RE ONLY AROUND $290,000. SO THERE IS ROOM IN THE BUDGET. THOSE ARE ESTIMATED FIGURES. I HAVE NOT DONE ALL THE MATH WITH ALL THE TAX ASSESSMENT NUMBERS THAT WE HAVE FROM THE FROM SEE CAD, BUT THAT'S THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT. IT'S RIGHT AROUND THAT. SO THERE'S ROOM. THERE ARE THREE LEVELS AS I MENTIONED THERE IS 139 HOMES THAT HAVE BEEN, UM I THINK I'M SAYING THAT RIGHT THINGS ON THEIR NONE. WE'VE GIVEN 78 MARKERS. HISTORIC MARKERS OVER TIME. OF THOSE, UM, PROPERTIES AND THAT ARE IN THERE RIGHT NOW THAT WE HAVE 101 139, OR IT MIGHT BE 100 AND 59. NOW THAT I'M SAYING THAT OUT LOUD, I HAVE TO LOOK AT MY NOTES. ABOUT 134 OF THEM ARE ACTIVE RIGHT NOW.OTHERS HAVE DROPPED OFF BECAUSE THEY AGED OUT THERE'S TIME LIMITS ON THESE INCENTIVES, AND WE HAVE ABOUT 20 ISH 2022 THAT ARE DROPPING OFF THIS YEAR SO THAT TO 90 NUMBER WILL DROP A LITTLE BIT NEXT YEAR. BECAUSE OF THAT, THERE'S 22 THEIR AGING OUT, SO TO SPEAK. IN A INCENTIVE PROGRAM. THIS IS JUST A REVIEW OF THOSE CHANGES. BUT YOU HAVE A QUESTION. YES WE WOULD. YOU KNOW WHEN WE WENT THROUGH THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO COME UP WITH AN AMOUNT, AND IT WAS POINTED OUT THAT THEY'RE ALL THERE IN THE SAME AREA. AND SO I THINK ONE OF OUR WE TALKED ABOUT TRYING TO GET SOME HOUSES OUTSIDE OF THAT AREA. ARE WE? I MEAN, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ANYTHING TO TRY TO? YES SO WE, UM COUPLE OF SEVERAL THINGS, SO WE'VE TRIED DOING SOME OUTREACH PROGRAMS WITH THE LIBRARIES. WHERE WE'VE HAD PEOPLE COME TO BE ABLE TO LEARN ABOUT IT. WE HAVE HAD AN OUTREACH PROGRAM WITH THE REALTORS THAT WE ATE, TALKED WITH THE REALTORS ABOUT THE PROCESS AND WHAT THEY NEEDED FOR THAT, BUT ALSO TALK TO THEM ABOUT WHAT THE AGENT PROGRAM IS.
AND GIVEN THAT OPTION. WE HAD A DIFFERENT A MEETING WHERE THE PLANNING GROUP GOES AND SPEAKS TO A GROUP OF REALTORS AND BROKERS AND WHATNOT, AND WE SPOKE TO THEM AS WELL ABOUT THAT. WE HAVE STARTED PUTTING STUFF OUT ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA. WE HAVE A FLYER THAT'S AVAILABLE IN BOTH ENGLISH AND IN SPANISH THAT WE HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO OUR DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOOD EVENTS.
[00:35:02]
MEGAN'S BEEN AT A FEW OF THEM WHERE WE'VE PASSED THEM OUT. HAVE THEM OUT THERE. SO WE ARE.WE ARE TRYING TO GET IT OUT THERE. WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH HOUSING HOUSING PROGRAMS TO TRY TO GET THE WORD OUT AS WELL. AND WITH CODE ENFORCEMENT TO GET THE WORD OUT AND WELL AS WELL. SO WE'RE WORKING AND TRYING. IT WAS JUST GOT TO KEEP GOING. AND MISS BETTY, UM PAULA WHAT SHE'S REFERENCING. SHE HAS BEEN ATTENDING THE EAST MCKINNEY, UM NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS, UM, MEETINGS WITH US, AND SO SHE HAS BEEN THERE TO KIND OF SHARE THAT INFORMATION WITH OTHER NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS, UM, WHO ARE WORKING TOGETHER TO FORM NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS? SO, UM AND MY FRIEND DIANE IS ALSO IN ATTENDANCE AT THOSE, UM SO WE HAVE BEEN REALLY WORKING TO PUSH THAT INFORMATION BECAUSE NOT ONLY ARE THERE YOU KNOW PEOPLE COMING IN AND BUYING HOMES IN IN THAT AREA, BUT THERE ARE ALSO PEOPLE WHO OWN THOSE HOMES. GENERATIONALLY UM SO THEY'VE LIVED LIKE MY HOME. UM MY GRANDPA BUILT IT. SO WE'VE BEEN THERE FOR THREE GENERATIONS. UM AND SO THAT'S A LITTLE BIT HARDER TO SHARE INFORMATION IN THOSE SITUATIONS. UM, BUT WE'RE WORKING ON IT, AND WE DO HAVE OUR OUR NEW NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNER TORY WHO IS SITTING BEHIND ME AND BLACK TODAY SHE IS OUR NEW NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNER, SO SHE'S GOING TO BE GOING TO MORE OF THOSE MEETINGS FOR ME SOME OF THOSE MEETINGS AND SO SHE'S GOING TO BE OUT THERE WORKING WITH ARE HELPING ENCOURAGE OUR OUTREACH PROGRAMS AND STRENGTHEN THOSE AS WELL. SO WE'RE WORKING ON GETTING THE WORD OUT. SO THANK YOU FOR ASKING. OKAY THIS IS JUST A KIND OF REMINDER OF WHAT THE VARIOUS LEVELS OF THE PROGRAM ARE FOR THE MARKER LEVEL , THAT 100% LEVEL THAT YOU HAVE TO GET THE HISTORIC MARKER. THE PROPERTY HAS TO BE 51 OF THOSE CHANGES WE MADE IN 2022 WAS THAT THE LEVEL ONE AND LEVEL TWO ONLY HAD TO BE 40 YEARS OLD, AND THAT WAS ENABLED. TO ENABLE US TO KEEP THEM AROUND WHEN THEY GOT THAT OLD TOOL UNTIL THEY MADE IT TO 50. SO TRYING TO JUST KEEP THAT BUILDING STOCK THERE. THEY'LL GET GET TO IT A LITTLE SOONER. UM, AND THEN THEY EACH HAVE A DIFFERENT INVESTMENT LEVELS THAT 30% HAS A $5000 INVESTMENT AND 5100% HAVE A $10,000 INVESTMENT AND THEY'RE ALL FOR 10 YEARS NOW. AND ONE OF THE OTHER CHANGES WE MADE. THAT ISN'T UP HERE, BUT YOU CAN'T STACK THEM ONCE YOU GET A NEW ONE FROM 2020 TO 1. ONCE YOU GET A NEW ONE, IT REPLACES THE OLD ONE. SO GENERALLY, UM IF YOU'RE IF YOU'RE ABOUT TO END YOU CAN COME BACK AND GET ANOTHER ONE. BUT IF YOU AREN'T ABOUT TO END AND YOU COME BACK AND GET ANOTHER ONE, AND YOUR OLD ONE WAS 50 YOU COME BACK AND GET A 30. WELL, NOW YOU ONLY GET 30.
SO THAT'S SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND WITH THAT, UM, AND AS ALWAYS, THE MARKER LEVEL INCENTIVE IS ALL ONE TIME THING ONLY. UM SO ONCE YOU'VE HAD 100% MARKER YOUR PROPERTY, NOT YOU.
ONCE YOUR PROPERTY HAS HAD A 100% MARKER THAT PROPERTY CAN'T HAVE IT AGAIN. SO EVEN IF YOU SELL THE PROPERTY, THE NEW OWNERS CAN'T COME BACK AND DO IT BECAUSE WE HAVE A RECORD OF WHO GOT THE MARKER SO THEY CAN'T GO BACK ON THE OTHER TO THE OTHER TWO. THEY COULD COME. YEAH THEY COULD BE REPEATED UNTIL COUNCIL DECIDES. NO BUT FOR NOW, THEY CAN BE REPEATED. YES. YEAH THAT WAS KIND OF MY QUESTION WHENEVER BECAUSE YOU HAD SAID EARLIER WHEN SOMEONE AGES OUT WHEN A HOUSE AGES OUT, I WAS LIKE, WELL, WHAT DO THEY DO? YOU KNOW, AFTER THAT, UM SO THEY CAN LIKE EVERY 10 YEARS, REAPPLY AND GET ANOTHER. IF IT'S NOT THE MARKER LEVEL. IF IT'S NOT THE MARKET LEVEL, THEY COULD REAPPLY IF THEY DO THE ELIGIBLE WORK, AND ALL THE OTHER THINGS DO THE ELIGIBLE WORK THE OWNER OCCUPIED, UM HAVE ALL YOUR CODES AND PERMITS UP TO DATE AND NOT HAVE ANY VIOLATIONS AND HAVE YOUR TAXES PAID, AND THERE'S OTHER STANDARD. REQUIREMENTS OKAY? YEP WHICH ARE THESE RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF ME? LOOK AT THAT SPITBALLING IN THERE RIGHT THERE. AND THEN, UM RIGHT AND THEN DO THE VERY VERIFIED IN POINT IMPROVEMENTS. SOME OF THOSE IMPROVEMENTS ARE ON THE OUTSIDE PAINTING. ROOFING WINDOWS FOUNDATION, CITING IF YOU'VE GOT TO FIX THOSE THINGS AGAIN, WE'RE GOING TO ASK THAT YOU ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE HISTORIC BUILDING CODES. THE HISTORIC BEST PRACTICES. YOU KNOW IF YOU COME IN AND WANT TO CHANGE YOUR WINDOWS FROM HISTORIC WOOD WINDOWS TO ALL VINYL. THAT'S GOING TO BE A STRETCH. THERE IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE SOME GENERAL REASONS AS TO LIKE SOME GOOD DOCUMENTATION AS TO THE QUALITY OF YOUR WINDOWS, RIGHT? BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT TO KIND OF FOLLOW THOSE BEST PRACTICES AND GET YOUR C O S AND ALL THOSE THINGS. SO UM, AND THEN THERE'S INTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS. I RECOGNIZE THAT SANITARY SEWER LINES ARE OFTEN OUTSIDE, BUT THEY DO AFFECT THE INSIDE OF YOUR HOUSE. YOU DON'T REALLY SEE THEM, SO THAT'S WHY THEY'RE ON THE INTERIOR SIDE. H V A C INSULATION, ELECTRICAL PLUMBING FIRE PROTECTION ACCOUNT . I DON'T KNOW THAT WE HAVE TOO
[00:40:04]
MANY HISTORIC HOMES ACTUALLY SPRINKLED, BUT YOU COULD THAT'S THE END OF THE BUSY, SO THAT'S THAT'S THE BIGGEST MONEY KIND OF INCENTIVE THAT WE HAVE FOR MAINTAINING YOUR HOMES. BUT THEN ON THE FUN SIDE AS YOU ALL ALSO ARE AWARE WE HAVE THE HISTORIC HOME CALENDAR. SO ONE OF THE GOALS WITH THE HISTORICAL CALENDAR WAY BACK IN THE DAY WHEN IT FIRST STARTED, AND WE TRY TO CONTINUE THAT NOW IS TO PRESENT 12 HOMES A YEAR THAT ARE MAINTAINING THEIR PROPERTY AS WELL AND ARE GOOD EXAMPLES OF A WELL MAINTAINED PROPERTY AND SO COMING UP HERE NOW WE HAVE NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR THAT PROGRAM. THEY CLOSED DECEMBER 31ST. AND THEN IN JANUARY, WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER VOTE AT THIS BOARD FOR THE NEXT YEARS, 12 AND WE'LL GET STARTED ON THE WHOLE PROCESS. THE BOARD MEMBERS ALL HAVE A COPY OF THE CALENDAR, AND WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON PASSING IT OUT. AND SO IF ANYBODY ELSE WANTS A COPY OF THE CALENDAR. PLEASE STOP BY AND ASK WENDY ONE DAY AND SHE WILL GLADLY GIVE YOU SOME, UM, AT NIGHT. YOU CAN START PICKING THEM UP IN THE LOBBY COMING UP HERE SOON. WE'RE ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR END OF THE YEAR.DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY YOU HAVE? I DON'T KNOW THAT WE HAVE ANY RIGHT NOW. OKAY WE HAVE ONE HOLDING UP ONE FINGER. SO WE'VE GOT 11 AT LEAST MORE TO GET SO YOU NEED TO START GETTING THE WORD OUT THERE THAT WE NEED SOME YEAH. YOU SEE, START THROWING THEM UP THERE. I FEEL LIKE IT ALWAYS COMES UP IN DECEMBER. YEP WE EXTENDED IT USED TO BE THE END OF OCTOBER. 2020 2025 CALENDAR. EXACTLY YEAH, WE EXTENDED A LITTLE BIT. IT'S THE 2025 CALENDAR. YEAH. YEP. 2025.
HOW DO WE GET THAT? HOW DO WE PUBLICIZE THAT? WE, UM. PUT IT OUT. WE CAN PUT IT OUT ON SOCIAL MEDIA. IT'S ON THE WEB PAGE, AND WE DON'T USUALLY HAVE A LITTLE NOTE ON THE WEB PAGE ABOUT IT, BUT WE CAN TRY DOING A SOCIAL MEDIA POST IF WE THINK THAT WILL HELP. DIANE, USUALLY WHAT'S IT IN IN THE HOMEOWNERS? YEP M. H N. A NEWSLETTER. NO, I DO IT TOO. OH YEAH. MEGAN I WILL. I WILL PASS IT ALONG TO THE TO THEM, AND I'LL SEND IT OUT TO YOU TO MEGAN AND THE LEGACY MEMBERS. LET ME KNOW WHAT EVERYBODY GETS THEM LIKE. REQUIREMENTS ARE ABSOLUTELY SEND THAT OUT, AND I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY OF MCKINNEY. DOES IT A REAL ABOUT IT? BECAUSE THEIR INSTAGRAM REELS. WHOEVER HAS BEEN DOING THAT ON THE MEDIA TEAM, THEY HAVE BEEN KILLING IT. THEY'RE DOING A GREAT JOB, AND I THINK IT'S LIKE IT. IT'S LIKE REALLY POPULAR. YEAH THEY'RE DOING SOME REALLY COOL STUFF WITH IT. THEY SHOULD TAKE THAT AND POST ABOUT IT BECAUSE I THINK THAT WOULD BE WE WILL TRY TO. YOU DID SEE THE ONE ON BARBIE RIGHT WHEN BARBIE CAME OUT, AND WE HAD THE HISTORIC HOME MARKERS BACK WHEN THE BARBIE MOVIE CAME OUT THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM AND CASSIE PUT TOGETHER A REAL, UH, A SERIES OF PHOTOS ON INSTAGRAM ABOUT HOW BARBIE HAS A MARKER ON HER HOUSE. AND LOOK, WE HAVE THEM IN MCKINNEY TO SO TO HIGHLIGHT SOME OF OUR HOMES THERE. SO WE'VE BEEN TRYING SOME SOME NEW JUST SOME NEW WAYS TO ENGAGE WITH SOCIAL MEDIA SET. PARDON PINK? NO, NO, YOU DON'T. WE HAVE WE HAVE ONE PINK HOUSE ON. ON THE CORNER OF COLLEGES, THE ERIN IT'S THE AARON HARRIS HOUSE HUNTING. IS IT HOT? I ALWAYS WANTED TO LIVE THERE. MY LITTLE SISTER. ONE DAY DO THE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY HAVE TO NOMINATE OR CAN ANYBODY CAN NOMINATE? AND THEN ONCE WE HAVE THE NOMINATIONS, AND THEY'RE SELECTED THAN WE CALL, THEN WE CONTACT THE OWNERS AND SAY, HEY, YOUR HOUSE WAS NOMINATED. ARE YOU OKAY WITH BEING IN IT? AND THEN IF THEY'RE NOT, THEN WE GO DOWN THE LIST AND PICK FROM THERE. SO EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE WE GET SOMEBODY THAT DIDN'T WANT TO LIKE WE HAD ONE HOUSE THAT DIDN'T WANT TO BECAUSE SHE WASN'T DONE WITH CONSTRUCTION YET AND SO SHE WAS LIKE, JUST WAIT. JUST WAIT. COME BACK LATER. SO HAPPENS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. NEXT YEAR. OKAY RESOURCES. I'VE BEEN TALKING OFF AND ON ABOUT THEM. THIS IS THE LARGER ONE RIGHT? THAT THAT HISTORIC UM, GUIDELINES TREATMENT GUIDELINES WITHIN THE CITY THEMSELVES. WE HAVE THAT GOOD NEIGHBOR GUIDE. IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT A CHANCE TO LOOK AT IT, GO AHEAD AND TAKE A PEEK.
IT'S NOT JUST MAINTENANCE TIPS THAT LITTLE MAINTENANCE SCREEN CHAT THAT I SHOWED YOU, BUT IT'S GOT STUFF ON. WASTE SERVICES, ANIMAL SERVICES, THINGS NOT TO PUT DOWN YOUR DRAIN. WHOLE HOST OF THINGS ARE INVOLVED IN THAT, SO IT'S A LOT OF INFORMATION, AND IT'S IN A VERY READABLE FORMAT VERY EASILY. EASY TO UNDERSTAND FORMAT. THIS IS THE LINK TO THE H N I. Z APPLICATION IS UP HERE AS WELL. IF THERE IS A PROPERTY THAT HAS THAT NEEDS TO HAVE SOME HOUSING,
[00:45:01]
REHABILITATION OR RECONSTRUCTION ARE HOUSING DEPARTMENT HAS A PROGRAM FOR THAT IT IS INCOME BASED AND NEED BASED, AND SO WE DO HAVE THAT FOR SOME POPULATION, SOME PEOPLE THAT NEED THAT IF THEY NEED IT, THEY HAVE ANOTHER PROGRAM AS WELL. CALLED THE PMP PROGRAM. THAT IS A KIND OF A SMALLER SCALE EXTERIOR MODIFICATIONS PROGRAM. THAT'S ALSO INCOME AND NEED BASED IF PEOPLE NEED HELP WITH DOING SOME THINGS THERE. AND THEN, OF COURSE, IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT PERMITTING, I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THAT. I KNOW WHEN I FIRST JOINED THE BOARD, I ASKED ABOUT HOW THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT DOES THEIR REHABILITATION AND IF THEY TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THOSE, YOU KNOW, HISTORIC PRESERVATION.UM TOPICS BECAUSE WHEN THEY WHEN THEY DID OUR HOUSE, UM ARE WOOD SIDING WAS COVERED WITH VINYL.
UM AND SO I JUST WONDERED. HAVE THERE BEEN ANY CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THAT? YES. OH, YEAH. WE JUST HAD SOME CONVERSATIONS THE OTHER DAY, ACTUALLY, BUT YEAH, THEY'RE THEY'RE TALKING TO US WHEN THEY HAVE PROJECTS. MOST OF THE TIME THEY TALKED TO US ABOUT PROJECTS WHEN THEY'RE IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT, BUT THEY ONLY DO A HANDFUL OF THOSE A YEAR. UM I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT NUMBER.
YOU'D HAVE TO CHECK WITH HOUSING, BUT THEY ONLY DO A HANDFUL OF THEM A YEAR SO, BUT WE ARE DEFINITELY IMPROVING OUR COMMUNICATIONS WITH HOUSING, ONE OF TORIES POSITION AS NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNERS TO KIND OF LIAISE WITH PLANNING AND IN HOUSING AND COMMUNITY SERVICES.
SO WE'RE WORKING IT. I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY MORE EAST MCKINNEY HOUSES TORN DOWN IN THE IN THE NAME OF RECONSTRUCTION OR REHABILITATION. THAT MAKES ME SAD. ISN'T IT IS A TOUGH IT IS A TOUGH THING. IT'S A TOUGH THING. OKAY UM, I MENTIONED THE SECRETARY STANDARDS AND THEN THE NATIONAL PARKS. PRESERVATION BRIEFS. THAT'S THOSE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BRIEFS. I'VE GIVEN YOU IN THIS SLIDE PRESENTATION. IF YOU WANT MASONRY AND STUCCO, UM AND THEN I THINK I GAVE YOU ONE ON PAINT ON GRAFFITI. EXCUSE ME, THERE'S SOMEONE PAINT THERE SOME ON TERRACOTTA. WE DON'T HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF TERRACOTTA AND DOWNTOWN MCKINNEY. BUT IF YOU DO HAVE A HOUSE WITH ERIC ON IT THERE IS ONE THERE. AND THERE'S A SLEW OF DIFFERENT BRIEFS THERE THAT CAN HELP AND USUALLY, EACH OF THOSE BRIEFS HAS INFORMATION ABOUT WHERE THEY GOT THEIR INFORMATION, AND THAT CAN LEAD YOU TO MORE RESOURCES. AND THEN OF COURSE YOU CAN ALWAYS, UM, TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS OR GIVE US A CALL, AND WE CAN TRY TO HOOK YOU UP WITH OTHER RESOURCES. THIS IS THAT LIST OF NATIONAL PARK SERVICE BRIEFS THAT PERTAIN TO SOME OF THE SPECIFIC MAINTENANCE TOPICS THAT WE TALKED ABOUT HERE IN THE MEETING, SO YOU SEE, THERE'S ALUMINUM. WE DO HAVE ACTUAL ALUMINUM DOWNTOWN AND IN HISTORIC PROPERTIES HERE, JUST GENERAL CLEANING PRACTICES.
PLEASE DON'T PRESSURE CLEAN WITH HIGH PRESSURE IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO KIND OF THING. STUFF ON GLASS STUFF ON LANDSCAPE. MEDALS ROOFING, WOOD AND MASONRY AND SUCKER. SO LIKE I SAID, THERE'S MORE, BUT BUT THIS IS A SELECTION THERE OF I THINK THAT'S IT. ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY ASKED YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? OKAY THANK YOU. THANK YOU, PAULA. THANK YOU FOR THAT INFORMATION. OKAY LET'S SEE . DO WE HAVE, UM DO WE HAVE ANY GENERAL CITIZEN COMMENTS REGARDING ADAM'S NOT ON THE AGENDA. NONE. DID THE BOARD MEMBERS. OUR STAFF HAVE ANY
[BOARD AND MANAGER COMMENTS]
FURTHER BUSINESS TO DISCUSS ANYBODY? I HAVE A REMINDER. SO Y'ALL GOT HAVE HAVE SPOKEN, OR MICHAEL RATHER HAS COME AND SPOKEN TO Y'ALL BEFORE ABOUT THE DOWNTOWN R F Q. JUST A REMINDER.THAT MEET THE PUBLIC MEETING FOR THAT WILL BE 1128 HERE IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS THAT THE FIRMS THAT HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO THE KIND OF FINAL SELECTION WILL BE DOING PRESENTATIONS. UM, AND THEN THEY'LL BE SOME TIME FOR COMMENTS AND WHATNOT. SO IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM ALL COME OUT AND DO THAT ON THE 28TH. AND THAT'S IT. WHAT TIME IS IT? I WANT TO SAY IT'S SIX O'CLOCK.
DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT DOUBLE CHECK THE MEETING LIST. I FORGOT TO WRITE THAT DOWN. SORRY, BUT IT IS. IT'S IN LIEU OF OUR COUNCIL MEETING TIME, SO IT'S THAT IT'S THAT SAME TIME. I DID IT. I THINK HE SENT OUT EMAILS. YOU DID. HE DIDN'T BUT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE I SEND ANOTHER REMINDER. JUST WHAT I WAS THINKING OF IT. SO THANK YOU, DOC. THEN I THINK BEFORE WE HAVE OUR NEXT MEETING THE TOUR IN THE TOUR OF HOMES BEFORE WE HAVE OUR NEXT MEETING TO READ TOUR AND THE GREEN TOUR, WHICH IS THE 2ND AND 3RD AND THEN THE PHONE, OKAY? OKAY SO THAT'S IN IN DECEMBER, SO THAT THAT'S A BIG DEAL. THANK YOU TO THE PENCES FOR PUTTING OFFERING THEIR HOUSE THAT'S A LOT OF WORK. BLESS YOUR HEART. YEAH YEAH, THERE WAS ONE THING THAT I WANTED TO, UH, MENTION. AND UM IT WAS IN THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS. OCTOBER 23RD. AND IT WAS ABOUT RICK
[00:50:08]
WALES AND HARVEST AND ALL THE RESTORATION THAT HE'S GONE THROUGH AND THERE WAS ONE, HE SAID. THEY WERE INTERVIEWING HIM, HE SAID. IF YOU WANT TO BUILD A GREAT CULTURAL DISTRICT, IF YOU WANT TO BUILD A GREAT COMMUNITY, YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU TAKE CARE OF HISTORY.AND, UM, I JUST I FELT LIKE THAT HE HAS DONE SO MUCH TO RESTORE THAT BUILDING, AND, UM I REALLY APPRECIATE HIS COMMENTS. WE EVEN PAUL WAS EVEN IN THERE. UH, SHE SHE MADE A COMMENT IN THERE, TOO, WHICH WAS A GREAT COMMENT, BUT I HAVE BEEN TO HARVEST YET, BUT, UM, I'M EXCITED TO SEE IT AND HE'S PUT A LOT OF WORK. LOT OF LOT WENT INTO RESTORING THAT BUILDING. SO UM OKAY ON THE SIDE , THEY'RE STUCK OUTSIDE. YEAH I'M GONNA GO TO DINNER TONIGHT. THERE. OH YOU ARE. OKAY WELL, YEAH, OKAY. ANYBODY ELSE HAVE ANYTHING THEY WANT TO ADD OR UM OKAY. DO WE HAVE A MOTION TO ADJOURN THE MEETING? SOME MOVED I DO I HAVE A SECOND. SO MOVED BY TOM. I DON'T GUESS WHAT DO I NEED TO ANNOUNCE WHO? SECOND, UH , BOARD MEMBER MCWILLIAMS. OKAY, ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION? ALL IN FAVOR. CAST YOUR VOTE. OKAY LET'S SEE. ALRIGHT WE'RE ADJOURNED, AND IT IS
