GO TO OUR SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA. T, MP, 24 AND 589 CONSIDER DISCUSS ACT ON AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY. MCKINNEY TEXAS, CERTIFYING THE ELECTION RESULTS OF THE MAY 4TH 2024 SPECIAL BOND ELECTION. YES SO GOOD AFTERNOON, MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT. I AM TISHA BETHEL, THE DEPUTY CITY SECRETARY, AND I AM HERE TO PROVIDE YOU ALL WITH THE RESULTS FOR THE MAY 4TH SPECIAL ELECTION . UM BEFORE I GET STARTED, I WANTED TO TAKE A MOMENT TO THANK BRUCE SHERBET, THE COLLIN COUNTY ELECTIONS ADMINISTRATOR AS WELL AS THEIR STAFF, UM, FOR THE SERVICES THAT THEY PROVIDE TO THE CITY, AS WELL AS OTHER MUNICIPALITIES IN GOVERNING BODIES TO ENSURE THAT OUR ELECTIONS ARE RUN SMOOTHLY, AND I'D ALSO LIKE TO THANK STAFF.

STAFF MEMBERS FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE, CODE ENFORCEMENT, LIBRARY, PARKS AND REC.

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS, PUBLIC SAFETY AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH. SO ON MAY 4 2024. THE CITY CONDUCTED A SPECIAL ELECTION. UM AND PRESENTED BY VOLUNTARY FIVE BOND PROPOSITIONS TO VOTERS OF THE CITY. UM ON THE ON WHETHER TO ISSUE A TOTAL OF $485,500,000 IN BONDS RELATED TO PARK IMPROVEMENT, CITY FACILITIES AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS. UM AND I HAVE A PRESENTATION THAT I CHOPPED UP FROM TREVOR. THAT JUST HAS ALL THE DIFFERENT BONDS, THE PROPOSITIONS AND WHAT EACH OF THEM INCLUDED AND I WILL GO THROUGH THE RESULTS NOW. UM, PROPOSITION A WAS THE ISSUANCE OF 100 AND $6 MILLION IN GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS. THOSE VOTES IN FAVOR WERE 3613 AND THOSE AGAINST WAS 2579. AND WITH 58.35% OF THE VOTES IN FAVOR. THIS PROPOSITION PASSED PROPOSITION. B WAS THE ISSUANCE OF $36 MILLION IN GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR MUNICIPAL COURT FACILITIES, AND THOSE VOTES IN FAVOR WAS 2821. THOSE OPPOSED 3340. AND WITH 54.21% AGAINST THIS BOND MEASURE DID NOT PASS. PROPOSITION C WAS FOR GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $30 MILLION FOR PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY. CAMPUS AND FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS. UM THOSE FOUR WAS 3076 AND THOSE AGAINST WAS 3074. WHEN A PERCENTAGE OF 50.02% FOR THE VOTES IN FAVOR OF THIS MEASURE PASSED. UH, PROPOSITION D WAS FOR GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT FACILITIES.

THOSE IN FAVOR WAS 4066. THOSE OPPOSED 2122. THIS MEASURE PASSED WITH A PERCENTAGE OF 60 65.71% OF VOTES, AND LASTLY, PROPOSITION E IN THE AMOUNT OF $243,500,000 FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT, INCLUDING SIDEWALK ALLEY AND OTHER TRAFFIC FLOW IMPROVEMENTS FOR 4113 VOTES AND AGAINST 2078 WITH A PERCENTAGE OF 66.44% THE VOTE VOTES IN FAVOR OF THIS MEASURE PASSED.

AND WITH THAT THAT IS THE CONCLUSION OF THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION. UM THESE RESULTS WILL BE ARCHIVED IN THE CITY'S PERMANENT RECORD, AND I WILL STAND FOR ANY QUESTIONS. TWO VOTES, SEPARATED, PASSING AND FAILING FOR TWO VOTES. $30 MILLION. EVERY VOTE COUNTS EVERY VOTE. YOU THINK OF SOME FRIENDS OF MINE THAT I WAS BADGERING TO GET TO THE POLLS. I AM SURE ALL OF US DID, AND FAMILY MEMBERS THAT LUCKILY JUST JUST CUT OFF. YEAH THAT WAS THAT WAS A TIGHT WHEN WE WERE ALL ON PINS AND NEEDLES WITH THAT ONE. SO ALL RIGHT. UH, YOU NEED A MOTION TO APPROVE THIS ORDINANCE. YES, SIR. I MAKE A MOTION. SECOND ALL IN FAVOR OPPOSED. THAT IS IT. WE HAVE NO EXECUTIVE SESSION. AND WE HAVE NO COMMENTS.
