AND WE HAD SOME REVENUE RELATED TO Y'ALL'S RENT, OFFICE SPACE YOU ARE LEASING OUT. AND THEN A LITTLE BIT OF MISCELLANEOUS REVENUE TOTALING $2.5 MILLION. LOOKING AT EXPENDITURES, WE HAD A FAIRLY QUIET MONTH. WE HAD 50,000 IN OPERATIONAL EXPENSES, 180,000 IN PROJECT EXPENSES. THEN WE HAD 70,000 AND NON-DEPARTMENTAL TOTALING CLOSE TO 300,000 FOR THE MONTH OF MAY. IT'S GOING TO MOVE ON TO SALES TAX. SO THE MONEY WE COLLECTED IN MAY APPLIES TO THE MONTH OF MARCH.

SO THIS IS MARCH SALES. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT WE HAD A 1.8% DECREASE. YOU CAN SEE ALLEN HAD 5.2%, BRISCOE HAD 4.6% AND PLANO HAD 7.2%. SO INITIALLY IT LOOKS LIKE WE'RE KIND OF BEHIND OUR SISTER CITIES. WE HAD A NEGATIVE AUDIT COLLECTION THIS MONTH, SO IF YOU FACTOR THAT OUT, WE HAD IF YOU'RE COMPARING OUR CURRENT PERIOD COLLECTIONS TO MAY OF LAST YEAR, WE HAD A 5.9% INCREASE, WHICH IS IN LINE WITH OUR OTHER SISTER CITIES. AND IT WAS ACTUALLY A REALLY STRONG INDICATOR FOR US. AND WE KIND OF GO ON A MONTH TO MONTH BASIS. BUT SEEING A TRUE, YOU KNOW,

ALLEN'S AT A DECREASE OF 1%, FRISCO'S AT 2.5 AND PLANO IS AT 7.4. LASTLY, LOOKING AT THE RETAIL OR THE SALES TAX BY INDUSTRY, YOU CAN SEE RETAIL TRADE IS STILL AT 5%. SO YOU KNOW, HISTORICALLY WE'VE USED THAT AS OUR STRONGEST INDICATOR TO DICTATE WHAT WE'RE GOING TO BE DOING MOVING FORWARD. I KNOW RIGHT NOW WE'RE BUDGETING 2.5% FOR NEXT YEAR SALES TAX REVENUE. BUT BEING THIS FAR INTO THE FISCAL YEAR AND STILL SEEING RETAIL TRADE AT 5% IS VERY ENCOURAGING FOR US AT THIS TIME. OBVIOUSLY, WE'RE GOING TO SEE HOW THE SUMMER MONTHS PLAY OUT. THIS IS THE ONLY STATISTICALLY VALID, STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT SCIENTIFIC SURVEY THAT THE CITY DOES. EXTERNALLY. WE DO ONE INTERNALLY AS WELL FOR INTERNAL ENGAGEMENT. BUT THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT'S ON THE MINDS OF OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH A RANDOMLY SAMPLED SURVEY. I'D RECOMMEND ALL OF YOU TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT. THERE ARE A LOT OF IMPLICATIONS FOR WHAT CDC DOES, WHETHER IT COMES TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. CERTAINLY PARKS AND OPEN SPACE, WHICH HISTORICALLY AND CONSISTENTLY RATES AMONG THE HIGHEST PRIORITIES OF OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY IN THEIR SURVEY. SO I THINK IT'S AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE. IT'S VERY WELL DONE. OR YOU CAN WATCH THE VIDEO PRESENTED IF YOU WANT A SHORTER THE SUMMARY OF THE PRESENTATION. WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUDGET SEASON. WE ARE, AS ALWAYS, WE HAVE PROBABLY $27 MILLION OF SUPPLEMENTAL REQUESTS AMONG OUR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS, AND WE WON'T HAVE NEARLY THAT TO DISTRIBUTE. AND SO WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE UNENVIABLE PROCESS OF FIGURING OUT WHAT'S GOING TO FALL BELOW THE LINE, WHAT'S GOING TO MAKE IT ABOVE THE LINE. AND WE ARE IN THAT PROCESS NOW.

IT'S USUALLY A HALF DAY BUDGET WORKSHOP AND WE WILL BE OFF TO THE RACES. THEN THE COUNCIL WILL HAVE A COUPLE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS AND MEETINGS, AND THEN THEY WILL ADOPT THE BUDGET FORMALLY IN EARLY SEPTEMBER. WITH THAT, I'LL STAND FOR ANY QUESTIONS. ANY QUESTIONS. JUST JUST COULD YOU SHARE IF YOU HAVE IT HANDY, THE RESPONSE RATE FROM THE PUBLIC SURVEY. IT WAS FAIRLY LOW, BUT THAT'S NORMAL. IT'S ABOUT 10% I BELIEVE. OKAY. CDC PROVIDED THE $500,000 GRANT FOR LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE PROJECT THAT HAD AN ORIGINAL AGREEMENT END DATE OF JUNE 30TH THIS YEAR. WE HAD FIRST BID THE PROJECT BACK IN JULY OF 2024. NO CONTRACTORS BID ON THE PROJECT.

AND THIS THIS SITE IN PARTICULAR IS ADVANTAGEOUS TO HAVE THIS WORK DONE IN THE SUMMER MONTHS. AND THEN AFTER THAT PERIOD, THE DEVELOPER STOPS SHARING IN THOSE REBATES, AND THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO DELIVER OVER $2.5 MILLION A YEAR TO THE CITY OF MCKINNEY IN THE FORM OF ADDITIONAL TAX REVENUE.

IN ADDITION TO THAT, THE CHAPTER THREE AGREEMENT CONTEMPLATES A 5050 SPLIT OF ANY STATE AND STATE TAX INCENTIVES THAT WE RECEIVE OVER $31 MILLION. SO THERE'S AN ADDITIONAL UPSIDE THERE. TO THE EXTENT THE PROJECT IS VERY SUCCESSFUL, WHICH WE EXPECT IT TO BE, BUT THERE ARE OTHER ADDITIONAL BENEFITS AS WELL THAT GO BEYOND THE PURELY FINANCIAL BENEFITS. THE LAZY RIVER WATER PARK WILL BE AVAILABLE TO AREA RESIDENTS, SO THAT'S A GREAT AMENITY FOR THE CITY'S CITIZENS, AS WELL AS A CONFERENCE FACILITY THAT WILL BRING MORE COMMERCE TO THE AREA.

AND SO WE'LL BE ABLE TO HOST BIGGER CONFERENCES AND CONVENTIONS. AND THEN THEY HAVE ALL THE ANCILLARY REVENUE GENERATED FROM RETAIL ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE AREA, FOR INSTANCE. BUT ALSO, THIS WILL BE THE ONLY LUXURY HOTEL IN NORTH TEXAS AREA. SO THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY SOME OTHER NICER HOTELS PGA, OMNI, FRISCO OF COURSE, RENAISSANCE IN FRISCO, BUT THOSE ARE TECHNICALLY NOT LUXURY HOTELS OR UPPER UPSCALE HOTELS. SO THIS WILL REALLY SET MCKINNEY APART FROM SOME OF THE OTHER LOCAL CITIES IN NORTH TEXAS. IT ALSO GIVES THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE TO WORK WITH BYRON NELSON. RIGHT, THE BYRON NELSON TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN VERY BENEFICIAL TO THE COMMUNITY, AND HAVING THIS HOTEL WILL CONTINUE TO ATTRACT NOT ONLY THAT GOLF TOURNAMENT AND FUTURE YEARS, BUT OTHER POTENTIAL TOURNAMENTS. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE GOLFERS THEMSELVES WOULD BE, I THINK, VERY HAPPY WITH HAVING THE ABILITY TO HAVE THE ACCOMMODATIONS SO CLOSE TO THE TOURNAMENT. AND THEN LASTLY, HOTEL AND LODGING IS VERY COMPLIMENTARY TO MANY OF THE OTHER VENUES THAT ARE BEING DEVELOPED IN MCKINNEY, INCLUDING THE MCKINNEY NATIONAL AIRPORT EXPANSION, THE CANNON BEACH SURF PARK, THE VENUE, SUNSET AMPHITHEATER THAT WE JUST HEARD ABOUT, MCKINNEY CORPORATE CENTER. WE'RE GOING TO TRY TO INTRODUCE THE FLASH MOB PERFORMANCE TO THIS EVENT. SO WE DON'T WE'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE A STAGE, BUT IT'S THE FLASH MOB LIKE RANDOMLY FROM DIFFERENT TIME ZONE. AFTER RENOVATIONS, WE ARE PLANNING ON OPTIMIZING OUR SHOWS AND DOING FOUR SHOWS WITH THREE WEEKENDS OF PERFORMANCES. THEREFORE, WE JUST COMPLETED OUR 2425 SEASON THAT INCLUDED THE GAME'S AFOOT, OUR ANNUAL PRODUCTION OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL, 12 ANGRY JURORS, WHICH WAS OUR FREE STUDENT TICKET SHOW, AND THE COMEDY DELIVER US FROM MAMA. SINCE RECEIVING THE GRANT IN 2022, MRT HAS SEEN TICKET SALES INCREASED BY 84% ACROSS MOST SHOWS, WITH A CHRISTMAS CAROL COMING IN AT 92% INCREASE AND THE 2425 SEASON MRT IS AVERAGING 137 TICKETS PER SHOW, AND A CHRISTMAS CAROL IS AVERAGING OVER 250, WHILE OUR AVERAGE TICKETS PER SHOW IS DOWN SLIGHTLY FROM LAST YEAR, A CHRISTMAS CAROL BROKE THE RECORD FOR MOST TICKETS SOLD EVER, WITH 2779 PEOPLE COMING TO ALL OF THE PERFORMANCES. THAT'S UP 27% FROM LAST YEAR. MRT IS GOING TO BE REQUESTING FUNDS FOR TWO SHOWS IN THE 2025 SEASON. FIRST, THE NORTH TEXAS PREMIERE OF THE NEW COMEDY MUSICAL NATIONAL PASTIME, WHICH WE ARE DOING IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NEW YORK CITY THEATER AMT. WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS AND OUR ANNUAL PRODUCTION OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL. FOR OUR FISCAL YEAR, WE HAVE CONSERVATIVELY ESTIMATED THAT OUR TICKET SALES AND CONCESSIONS WILL COME IN AT 122,137, AND UNFORTUNATELY, THAT LEAVES US WITH A DEFICIT OF 10,411, WHICH WE PLAN ON MAKING UP THROUGH SMALLER COLLABORATIONS AND FUNDRAISING EFFORTS. SO FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DON'T KNOW WHO WE ARE, WE'RE A NONPROFIT GROUP OF VETERANS AND ADVOCATES. WE BELIEVE IN THE HEALING POWER OF THE OUTDOORS. WE RUN PROGRAMS TAKING VETERANS LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY ON EXPEDITIONS TO HELP THEM DEAL WITH PTSD AND A VARIETY OF OTHER ISSUES. WE WERE FOUNDED IN MCKINNEY IN 2016.

NEXT YEAR IS GOING TO BE OUR TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY, AND MOST OF OUR BOARD AND OUR OPERATIONS ARE ALL BASED HERE IN MCKINNEY IN COLLIN COUNTY AREA. SINCE OUR FOUNDING, WE'VE SERVED OVER 1000 VETERANS. WE'VE GONE ON 40 PLUS EXPEDITIONS. WE'VE HIKED OVER 1200 MILES, WE'VE SUMMITED 30 PEAKS, AND WE'VE GOTTEN NUMEROUS, NUMEROUS OUTDOOR CERTIFICATIONS FOR OUR VETERANS.

FOR THE LAST SIX YEARS, WE'VE BEEN HOSTING AN ANNUAL VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION, WHICH YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH. IT'S EVOLVED AND GROWN OVER THE YEARS, AND IT'S BEEN OUR FLAGSHIP FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR OUR ORGANIZATION SO THAT WE CAN FUND OUR PROGRAMS FOR OUR VETERANS AND BUILD AWARENESS OF THE ORGANIZATION. LAST YEAR, WE DECIDED TO BRAND IT AS THE NORTH TEXAS VETERANS CELEBRATION TO KIND OF CAST A WIDER NET AND SO THAT THE CITY OF MCKINNEY COULD OWN THAT EVENT. IT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS. WE HAD OVER 750 ATTENDEES. WE RAISED $30,000. WE HAD A FOUR PLANE FLYOVER THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE CAME OUT TO WATCH. IT WAS AMAZING. WE HAD MULTIPLE VENDORS ATTEND THAT ALL REPORTED HAVING POSITIVE SALES, CONTRIBUTING TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY. WE HAD AN ARMY LED, ARMY VETERAN LED BAND COME OUT AND PUT ON A GREAT SHOW. IT WAS VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY. WE HAD A CHILDREN'S AREA THAT WAS A BIG HIT WITH THE KIDS, WITH FACE PAINTING AND TEMPORARY TATTOOS, AND VERY SELFISHLY, MY DAUGHTER SANG THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AND SHE DID AN AMAZING JOB. SO IT WAS A REALLY, REALLY SUCCESSFUL EVENT. LAST YEAR. WE HAD A REALLY GREAT TIME. WE LEVERAGED LAST YEAR'S $5,000 GRANT THAT WE WERE AWARDED TO DO MAINLY SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING. WE WORKED WITH VISIT MCKINNEY. WE WORKED WITH CARRY THE LOAD, IF YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THEM, WE'RE A NONPROFIT PARTNER OF CARRY THE LOAD. THEY HELP PROMOTE THE EVENT FOR US. WE WORKED WITH SBG HOSPITALITY. I'M VERY HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT ANDREW STEFFEN IS ON OUR BOARD AS WELL THIS YEAR, AND WE'RE GOING TO BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THEM TO AMPLIFY THIS EVENT THIS YEAR. AND ALSO SHOULD NOTE THAT WE'VE BROUGHT ON A LOT OF OTHER BOARD MEMBERS THIS YEAR, AND WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT OUR BOARD THIS YEAR AND THE FUTURE OF THE ORGANIZATION. AND SO THIS YEAR, WE'RE REQUESTING GRANT OF 12,500. THAT'S, YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY MORE THAN WHAT WE ASKED FOR LAST YEAR. WE WERE REALLY OPERATING ON A SHOESTRING BUDGET LAST YEAR FOR THE EVENT. AND THAT THAT GRANT WAS REALLY HELPFUL. AND WE REALLY WANT TO LEVEL UP OUR MARKETING EFFORTS THIS YEAR. AND SO OUR PLAN THIS YEAR, WE'RE TARGETING 1500 ATTENDEES. WE'RE TRYING TO POOL AND REACH ALL OF THE COUNTIES IN DFW. WE THINK THIS IS GOING TO AMPLIFY MCKINNEY AS A VETERAN, FRIENDLY CITY, BUILD AWARENESS, ATTRACT VETERANS AND FAMILIES TO DOWNTOWN MCKINNEY. WE'VE GOT A FUNDRAISING GOAL OF $40,000 THIS YEAR. HOPEFULLY WE YOU KNOW, I THINK THAT'S MODEST. I THINK WE CAN EXCEED THAT. AND THIS YEAR WE'RE GOING TO OFFER FREE ENTRY, BECAUSE I THINK LAST YEAR, MAKING IT A GATED AND TICKETED EVENT PROBABLY HURT US A LITTLE BIT. WE MAINTAIN 18 GARDENS, INCLUDING 12 AT MYERS PARK AND A SCHOOL PROGRAM RIGHT HERE AT CALDWELL ELEMENTARY. THESE ARE THE EIGHT EVENTS IN THE GRANT, AND THEY FORM THE HEART OF OUR PUBLIC PROGRAMING, FROM PLANT SALES TO WORKSHOPS, EXPOS AND TOURS. WE'RE EXPECTING TO BRING IN 8500 TO 10,000 ATTENDEES, WITH 70 TO 75% COMING FROM OUTSIDE MCKINNEY. AND WE'RE NOT JUST TRACKING HEADCOUNTS. OUR SURVEYS ARE ASKING VISITORS WHAT THEY PLAN ON DOING WHILE THEY'RE HERE IN MCKINNEY, AND OUR RESULTS ARE SHOWING STRONG INDICATORS OF ECONOMIC IMPACTS. THE GARDEN SHOWS A BUILT IN SHOPPING EXPERIENCE FEATURING LOCAL VENDORS, SMALL BUSINESSES, STARTUPS AND NONPROFITS, AND OUR SURVEYS CONFIRMED THAT THE ATTENDEES ARE CONTINUING TO SUPPORT THESE BUSINESSES EVEN AFTER OUR EVENTS. SO MAKING THAT A LITTLE BIT OVER 50% OF PEOPLE COMING INTO MCKINNEY. WE ARE ALSO PARTNERING WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES LIKE THE DENNISON HOTELS TO HAVE OUR ARTISTS STAY THERE, BUT ALSO CREATING A PACKAGE FOR ATTENDEES TO STAY AT THAT HOTEL, SINCE IT'S RIGHT THERE IN WALKING DISTANCE, AND IT'LL JUST MAKE IT AN EASY EXPERIENCE.
