IT IS DESCRIBED AS BEING DONE TO MEET THE HOUSING DEMANDS THAT ARE GROWING IN MCKINNEY, TEXAS. BUT FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE'S A QUITE SUBSTANTIAL NUMBER OF HOUSING AND RESIDENCES, BOTH FOR RENT AND FOR PURCHASE, THAT ARE WITHIN THE AREA, MANY OF THEM WITHIN HALF A MILE OF IT, FOR EXAMPLE, HALF A MILE TO THE SOUTH OF THIS PLANNED ANNEXATION AND DEVELOPMENT, THERE IS ANOTHER APARTMENT GROUP THAT DEVELOPED CALLED PAINTED WOODS, WHICH INVOLVES BOTH THE VILLAGE AND THE THE VILLAGE, THE VILLAGE AND THE WOODLAND DISTRICT, WHICH IS TWO SEPARATE ONES, AND BOTH OF THESE HAVE THE WOODLAND DISTRICT COMPLETED IN 2021 AND THE. THE VILLAGE DISTRICT WILL BE IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND IS GOING TO BE PROJECTED COMPLETION SOMETIME DURING THE YEAR OF 2026. MOST OF THESE ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE WITHIN THE SAME AREA, AND MANY OF THEM ARE NOT FULL DESPITE THEIR COMPLETION. YOU ALSO HAVE ANOTHER NEIGHBORHOOD THAT IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION CALLED HIGHLAND LAKES, AGAIN, HALF A MILE TO THE WEST OF THIS LOCATION AND STILL NOT FULL. IT HAS AVAILABILITY AS WELL. THE BIG QUESTION I ASK IS WHAT STRIKES THEM AS NECESSARY TO BUILD THIS PARTICULAR COMPLEX FOR I GUESS IT'S CALLED LUXURY TOWNHOMES. WHEN THERE'S SO MUCH CONSTRUCTION THAT'S ALREADY UNDERGONE HERE. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, IS THAT IN ORDER TO PROCEED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION THAT THE CITY OF MCKINNEY WOULD HAVE TO ANNEX THIS LOCATION, WHICH I BELIEVE IS CURRENTLY UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF COLLIN COUNTY. SO WITH ALL OF THAT, IT ALSO MEANS THAT ANY SORT OF FUTURE MAINTENANCE, WHETHER IT BE SANITATION, ROADS, THINGS LIKE THAT, THAT DON'T FALL UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE DEVELOPER WILL NEED TO BE MAINTAINED BY THE CITY OF MCKINNEY, WHICH WILL BE NEW RESPONSIBILITIES IN ADDITION TO THE ALREADY SUBSTANTIAL ONES THAT MANY OF YOU OVERSEE ON A DAILY BASIS. BUT THIS ISN'T JUST ABOUT ROADS AND TRAFFIC, IT'S ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LAND WHEN WE STOP PROTECTING IT. I BELIEVE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER ARNOLD WAS THERE, AND CITY MANAGER GRIMES WAS THERE. THAT IS ALWAYS AN INTERESTING AND EYE OPENING NIGHT. IT REQUIRES A LOT OF VOLUNTEERS. IT REQUIRES A LOT OF EFFORT WITH A LOT OF DIFFERENT CITY PARTNERS AND CITY DEPARTMENTS. AND I JUST WANTED TO RECOGNIZE ALL THOSE THAT PARTICIPATED IN THAT. HIS NAME WAS DICK PORTER.

HE'S 95 YEARS OLD, LIVES HERE WITH HIS DAUGHTER AND SON IN LAW HERE IN MCKINNEY. THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH KOREA IS IS DOING THIS FOR ANY LIVING VETERAN OF THE KOREAN WAR, GIVING THIS MEDAL AND THIS RECOGNITION. IT WAS REALLY A COOL THING.
