SHE WORKS FOR COMMUNITY IMPACT AND SHE GAVE US AN UPDATE ON THE TOP STORIES OF COMMUNITY IMPACT FOR 2025. IT WAS A GREAT EVENT, WELL ATTENDED AND AND I LOOK FORWARD AGAIN FOR NEXT YEAR. AWESOME. I WANTED TO CONGRATULATE A DISTRICT THREE RESIDENT, JAMES JENKINS, WHO HAD A RIBBON CUTTING WITH THE CHAMBER FOR THE OPENING OF HIS NEW OFFICE. IT'S RISK. WELL, AND IT'S RIGHT THERE ON EL DORADO AND THIS IS A PERSON I WANT. JAMES AND I WENT THROUGH LEADERSHIP TOGETHER, AND HE WASN'T A RESIDENT OF MCKINNEY AT THE TIME, AND WE GAVE HIM A REAL HARD TIME ABOUT THAT. WE GOT A REALLY GREAT LESSON ON THE FIVE LEGACY NEIGHBORHOODS, WHICH ARE PRIMARILY BLACK AND BROWN FAMILIES HERE ON THE EAST SIDE OF MCKINNEY. TO REPRESENT THOSE NEIGHBORHOODS, WE HAD LARRY AND LINDA JAGERS, WHO ALSO INTEGRATED MCKINNEY ISD. WE HAD MR. MALVERN, WHOSE FATHER WAS AN EDUCATOR, AND THERE'S A SCHOOL NAMED HERE AFTER HIM. WE HAD MR. MCGOWAN, WHO WAS A COUNSELOR AND ALSO WAS ONE OF THE FEW FACULTY THAT ALSO INTEGRATED MISD. MR. CHARLES WATLEY WAS HERE. HIS FATHER SERVED ON CITY COUNCIL FOR 24 YEARS, WHICH IS VERY REMARKABLE. AND THEN THE EVANS WAS WAS HERE AND THERE'S AN EVANS SCHOOL AS WELL. SO WE HAD GREAT REPRESENTATION ACROSS THE BOARD FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN INGRAINED IN THIS COMMUNITY FOR MULTIPLE GENERATIONS.
