AND I LISTENED TO ALL THE STORIES AND ALL THE THINGS THAT WERE TOLD ABOUT HIM. AND HE WAS HE WAS [01:00:03] JUST BIGGER THAN LIFE. AND HE WILL TRULY BE MISSED IN MY. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HIS FAMILY. THEN I ALSO GOT TO ATTEND THE POLICE AWARDS LUNCHEON AND IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO TO THAT EVENT, YOU NEED TO GO AT LEAST ONCE BECAUSE IT'LL GIVE YOU A WARM FEELING AND A SAFE FEELING WHEN YOU GO HOME AND GO TO BED. BECAUSE YOU HEAR THE STORIES FROM THESE PEOPLE, FROM THESE, FROM THESE POLICE OFFICERS THAT ARE ON THE STREETS EVERY DAY, AND THE GREAT AND HEROIC THINGS THEY DO FOR US AS CITIZENS OF MCKINNEY. THAT'S ALL. I HAD TWO HIGHLIGHTS FOR ME, MR. MAYOR. I WENT TO THE AIRPORT'S CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY, WHICH THEY HAVE EVERY YEAR. AND, YOU KNOW, THE AIRPORT HAS A LOT OF CUSTOMERS, FOLKS WHO RENT HANGERS OUT THERE AND KEEP THEIR PLANES OUT THERE. IT'S ALWAYS GREAT. IT'S ALWAYS GOOD TO HEAR THE FEEDBACK. THAT'S SUCH A TREMENDOUS ASSET. I TOOK MY FATHER A LOT THERE LAST WEEKEND AND HE DIDN'T REALLY WANT TO GO, BUT HELL, I COULDN'T HARDLY GET HIM TO LEAVE. IT'S SUCH A WONDERFUL PLACE TO BE IN THAT FBO, LOOKING AT THE RUNWAY AND SEEING EVERYTHING. AND THEN TODAY I MENTIONED THIS EARLIER IN A SEPARATE MEETING, BUT I WENT AND GOT A TOUR OF THE NEW YET TO ITS. YET IT'S COMING. BUT THE HELEN HALL LIBRARY. THE RENOVATIONS IN THERE ARE JUST INCREDIBLE. THERE IS SIGNIFICANT MITIGATION FOR VAGRANCY IN AND AROUND THAT PLACE. THERE IS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE ACTIVATION. IT IS REALLY GEARED TOWARD BRINGING PEOPLE TO MCKINNEY FOR VERY UNIQUE EXPERIENCES, INCLUDING THE EXPOSITION CENTER AND THE PLANETARIUM. I MET THE NEW COORDINATOR FROM THE PLANETARIUM, AND I DON'T KNOW WHO WAS THE MOST EXCITED NEW CITY EMPLOYEE I'D MET BEFORE TODAY, BUT SHE'S WON THAT AWARD, AND SHE IS JUST SO EXCITED TO BE HERE AND TO DO THAT. SO WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I KIND OF KNEW WHAT WAS COMING, BUT IT STILL BLEW ME AWAY. THANK YOU, MR. MAYOR. AND THEN IT KIND OF HONORS OUR LOCAL DEVELOPERS IN THE AREA. HAD THE WHEN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY AWARD. AND ALSO LAST WEEK WE HAD THE LAST HOST COMMITTEE EVENT FOR THE BYRON NELSON. SO I LOVE SEEING SORT OF THAT COLLABORATIVE SPIRIT BETWEEN THE ORGANIZATIONS, BUT ALSO JUST REMINDED ME HOW VERY AWESOME OUR CITY IS TO BE ABLE TO BRAG ON US THAT NIGHT. SO AND THEN ALSO I GOT TO ATTEND AT THE INVITATION OF OUR CITY SECRETARY. I GOT TO, TO, TO ATTEND THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR BANQUET. THAT WAS MY FIRST TIME GOING. I'VE NEVER BEEN BEFORE. IT WAS AWESOME TO SEE JUST SO MUCH ENTHUSIASM AROUND THIS EVENT AND A CELEBRATION REALLY, OF ALL THEY PROVIDE FOR OUR OUR STUDENTS, BUT WANTED TO CONGRATULATE TOMMY GILLET FROM BURKS ELEMENTARY, WHO WAS THE ELEMENTARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR, AND ALSO REAGAN BRANNON AT FABIAN, WHO WAS THE SECONDARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR. SHE ACTUALLY TAUGHT ONE OF MY KIDS AND AND SHE GOT THE SEAL OF APPROVAL ON THAT AWARD FROM MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER. SO THANK YOU, THOUGH, TO ALL OF THE EDUCATORS HERE IN MISD.
